Bringing the colors out to the side of the working photo is genius.🎉
It’s amazing how the under layer looks so thick but is really a light application.
Love pan pastels. This is great info.
Good video. I like the showing of the home work involved before the tackling of the actual painting. Thank you.
Wow, you just saved me years of trial and error, Thankyou!
Magnificent! I love all your tutorials! And I love this very much! Thank you!
Thank you Jason, great video and really helpful
Thank you again, now Im one of your patreone... Thank you and I hope this is something for me. Love all your videoes 🐯🦓🦝🤩
I’m going to have a go with this one soon.
Wonderful tutorial!
Very helpful video. Thank you. 😊
I made my own Sofftool. Making my own PanPastel .
You explain so nicely. Starting using my pan pastels which has been sitting on the shelf for a few years and I have the pencils too. I will join Patron soon when I can dedicate more time to the work. I like to use my own reference if I can due to Copyright. What is the situation with this using your reference? I have done a recent workshop painting a lioness and I am now very motivated to use pans n pencils.
When you made your transfer did you draw it on a grid first? I absolutely enjoyed this video since I have used oil and soft pastels; however, I see how much more I would enjoy pan pastels.
merci beaucoup
Excellent...thanks a lot...there is another artist I see on UA-cam Dave porters art ...who mixes colours on pastelmat with pencils only...that's so interesting too...but I can't mix with pencils on surface
This is just lovely. As always, a great tutorial. Magnetic board for pan pastel makes so much sense. Putting it on my Christmas $ gift to self-list. What size are you working on? And which magnets hold the paper best? Thank you so much for sharing your work. You are the reason I use the pans, carbothello and Derwent stumps.
Can a thin brush pick up and apply pan pastel for sharp lines?
Hi Jason! Can you please tell me How you drag out the colors on the photo to make your palette? What program did you use?
Thanks!!! looks fabulous!
He has a wonderful video on his Patreon that teaches this:)
@@dorothygladsjo3510 That may be, but even though I am a patreon member, I'd still like the accurate answer.......save me some serious time & digging. Thanks, Jason, so please let us know what progam you used to drag out the colors.
how did you hold your clear pan pastel palette up on magnetic board. great idea. love your work. and your thoughts on creating tonal values and colors!! will come back to patreon again soon. have had personal hiccups in life!
very strong magnet
Jason, so soft pastels or pastel stick s are the richest in pigment..then....pan pastels.....then pencils....is that order correct?
i would say the pencils are more opaque than the pans.
How do you color swatch your photo
Hello, thank you for your videos. Are very helpful. I would like to ask. Are soft pastel sticks necessary or or with the pastel pencils i can do the same job?
you can do all with pencils, they just wear out quicker
Are you using regular Coloured pencils?
hello! My name is Patricia, I am French
I discovered your pan pastels tutos, and it s so enjoyable for me!
presently, I d like to know what do you call white transfer paper?
it could interest me for the drawings
thanks in advance!
My favourite brand of white transfer paper is Saral brand (wax free). It comes in several colours (graphite, white, blue, yellow & red)
Jason, you have a typo in your patreon link in video description section.
Hi Jason. What program do you use to color match your reference photo?
see my video on that - there are a few
