Omg you just perfectly described my experience of adulthood. I genuinely feel like a 15 year old that suddenly woke up in an adult body with adult responsibilities. Now I am looking after a kid, my hip hurts, I have to go to work, and I am 30 something (five *cough*) years old. Despite all of this I still feel like I am 15, butterfly clips in my hair, crying my mascara off listening to Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. Ouch

Aww dude I completely relate to what you said near the end about feeling like writing is the one thing you're good at and you're worried about failing at it. One thing that really helped me manage that fear was this one post I saw about a pottery instructor dividing his class into 2 halves and telling one half that they just have to make as many pots as they can while the other half has to just make one pot the best it can be. But at the end of the experiment, the highest quality work came out of the group that was assessed based on how many pots they made. I think it speaks to two things: you learn by doing, and by making mistakes. You can sit and theorize all you want about what makes a perfect clay pot but the guy across the room who's already made 15 knows intimately what works and what doesn't and is able to get a feel for it. Yeah, his first 14 pots might be shit but hey, he made 14 pots! And by the 15th one, he's ironed out a lot of the issues! I hope you don't let that anxiety stop you from writing. I'll leave you with this quote: "The woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those who sang best." - Henry Van Dyke
