Dude that part from 0:00 to 6:00 is incredible!!
Daud Ramay 😂😂😂
That's what I thinking
That's truth 😂
epic
In fact only 4:42 - 6:00
This song helped me beat dark souls 3
Base game or DLC's also? Lol
Imagine playing this while crossing the bridge to Irithyll
Now beat Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with Pan from Impulse Voices.
I played sekiro with prog metal, this, math rock and other Plini songs. Helped a lot.
✊️
Saw Plini live last week and they played this.
Fucking ✨MAGICAL✨
It was so surreal listening to this song and many others online for years and finally seeing the boys play it live was a completely amazing experience and I definitely recommend anyone who can see Plini live, fucking do it.
Saw them in Helsinki last year! Magical.
I just saw them on Halloween and this was the encore song, it was soooo good!!
Yeah I saw him in Lyon. There is something magical to them playing this with studio-like accuracy live. Like yeah this guy plays music a bit...
From 03:58 on begins one of the most perfect compositional orchestrations I've ever had the pleasure to experience. You think that theme play couldn't get any better and then, just shortly thereafter at 04:13 that chunk-chunk-chunk bliss begins ... My frickin' skin gooses every single time I hear it.
I’ve heard this today for the first time. I emphatically agree. First four minutes are incredible, you don’t even need it to get any better and you can’t even conceive of how it could be…then your serotonin system is hit with a nuclear bomb and you’re launched into outer space and brought face to face with the one transcendental unifying spiritual entity who dispels all fear and doubt from your soul in an instant and breathes a new life of bravery and love into you
chunk chunk bliss is the best description I've ever heard for a piece of a song. It just makes so much sense.
Perfectly described! I couldn't agree more
Wait till you hear 05:11 🎉
*When Plini tries to djent and accidentally does it better than everybody else.*
Randall Jewell Periphery too.
Randall Jewell Djent is an onomatopoeic word; it's a certain sound you get in progressive metal and modern metal by dialing in a particular kind of distorted tone that is tight and not too saturated with ringing gain like classic metal guitar tones or classic rock tones; often played on guitars with extra strings (7, 8, 9), which are tuned down to get really low notes to sound thick and intense.
they write different types of prog dude if wants to write like plini he can its just not his type xD
Except this isn''t djent.
@@joshmiller251 You wrote "thickass palm mute" wrong
I just realized that 4:57-5:27 is the main melody of Handmade Cities (the song) thrown in right at the end in a different key along with the Cascade melody tacked on to the end of the phrase to bring the album full circle. Fucking brilliant.
this is also played in "Here We Are, Again" at the very end.
Also, in "Selenium Forest", "The End of Everything" (the song) and "Paper Moon" ,he does this again, but with a different melody.
Truly a genius
its his motif lol
Thanks for the insight, indeed handmade cities is like a mash up for many melodies of the album.
It's like a trailer for the album.
Amazing music. Cant help but give that drummer credit too. Man he kills it too
Troy Wright is amazing haha
You sir, have revolutionized prog.
Intervals is another amazing prog composer.
@@JA-nv4zb that is correct. I like them best without the singer
As a home brewer, Cascade is one of my favorite hops. I am naming my next brew "Plini" no matter what it turns out to be.
Share the love bro!
Plini the elder clone, if you like double ipas 😃
Plini the elder. Mmmm.
Plini the Pilsner
Alf Torp I’ll buy and pay for shipping.
Wow, Steve Vai himself is giving props
Yeah Steve sent me here
Same here.
TheBfutgreg I mean this is basically is Steve Vai went djent lol
who is steve vai
oh my...my, my, my...
This is like the best thing I've ever heard in my life. And I've listened to so much music. I was looking forward to this album but this track just exceeded my expectations, which is something that rarely happens these days with anything. I just can't believe it. It's absolutely perfect. I really, really feel this. Thank you so much. I am a new man. Thanks Plini.
Florentin Andrei thats the way i feel as well, something about this song is so rich, hard to find these days!
Heard this for the first time today. I’m a drummer and I’ve spent my life listening to everything from Bach to Brahms to Sonny Rollins to James Brown to Holdsworth to Tool to Meshuggah to Animals as Leaders…and this is just spellbinding. It kept getting better and better, I didn’t think it could possibly get any better…then when the last two minutes hit a cold shiver was induced and my jaw dropped and I just gazed up at the sky in awe and amazement
@@jackmaguire1158 welcome to the club. I think he peaked this album, but that’s for you to decide
Just think for a moment. Out of all the planets in the universe, all the time periods, somehow, we’ve all ended up in this one, able to experience this music fresh and brand new
If plini’s music isn’t playing at my funeral, I ain’t dying
This is one of the best instrumental songs I've heard in a long time. I can't get enough of it.
Ww4
That INSANE HEAD-BANGING feel from 4:43 till the end of eternity...
Why did the song have to end??? Such deep melody and them feels...
PLINI, yer' a GOD!!
Plini's solos build like no other. His compositions are amazing
When Steve Vai personally recomends something, you know it's going to be good
Abel Bou Mayor gas where did he recommend this?
Plini was praised on Vai´s Facebook-page 26th of november 2016.
Who could blame him, this is so good
I'm waiting for Plini to recommend something by Steve Vai...
@@juanmarathon9445 Considering Plini was at Vai Academy this year, I'm sure he'd recommend anything by Vai lol
This just sets you on the perfect mood for anything
The use of silence in this song is FANTASTIC
0:52
1:39
I don't know what it is, but Plini is the master of building a theme around a melody in the beginning of the album and just evolving it throughout the album until it comes to a head towards the end in some extremely powerful and moving moments such as at 4:56
Nobody does it better, and I think it makes for exceptional album writing that makes all of the songs in an album make sense as a collection rather than some artist that try to write a bunch of cool songs and then throw them on an album without any real reasoning or sense as to why those songs would go together.
Plini’s music touches the deepest part of my soul. And when the inevitable time comes this is the last thing I want to hear as I take my last breath upon this beautiful good earth.
This is absolute perfection. The precision required to do this.... The godlike composition it took to write it... I think this is the most impressive musicianship I've ever heard. The sounds blend and run with each other in harmonies I've never thought about before.
I often get memories when I listen to music (nothing new) and the memories bound to this song are the days when you released the album and how this track moved me. Cascade has been the only track which reminds me listening to the song itself for the first times. You're a magician Plini ♥
I feel so lucky to listen to Plini's music. So damn lucky.
Album favorite, SO GOOD
fa sho
It's you!!
+Autumn Elegy you're streams are chill
Autumn Elegy bruh your rs video are just as good aye haha
This is irrelevant but I am the 69th like
Plini's sophistication with Troy's drums sounds good to me.
Omg 3:16 TO 3:46 IS just so melodic, that was some tasty phrasing man!!
Two weeks ago I discovered this song.....and from that moment I 'm listening it every day.....pure magic! How did I miss this in 2016?
Same bro. Came here from a rabbit hole of music recommendations.
Been waiting for your first full length album for so long, and boy was it worth the wait! You nailed it Plini :D
This is my favorite thing of the album. Heck man, the whole album is phenomenal :D
Plini, Troy, Simon, Ermin and Alex thank you guys so much for the amazing music and art. Keep up the good work :)
Every now and then I come here to listen to this master piece, every time it makes even more sense, it's just incredible, the arrangement behind the solo parts is sometimes even better than the solo itself, the mix played a huge role in giving this piece the space it deserves, I just love every aspect of it!!
This track is fucking incredible; hell, who am I kidding? This entire album kicks total ass. Plini, you have yet to put out a song that doesn't shake the foundations of my music loving mind. Keep doing what you do, man. You do it too fucking well.
The part starting at 4:43 is simply epic.
I haven't been able to stop listening to this album since I first heard it over a month ago. From the variety of styles represented, to the fullness and diversity of texturing and layering, to the cycling polyrhythms and their integration into varying time signatures, to the memorable and emotive melodies, to the clever use of motifs that help build the album into an experience, I can't remember a time in recent past when a single album has fulfilled so many of my listening needs.
Thank you, Plini. This is truly a masterpiece.
plini man.. this after electric sunrise has to be the best song in the album. haven't shed a tear to music in a long time. and this has floored me. keep em coming you Messiah
this is so incredible... thanks Plini
I love this song. I saw this guy live in Vancouver and they'are still in my head. Make me dream! Amazing concert!
Listening to this for the millionth time and the anticipation for what is to follow building up never fails to make me an excited little child jumping up and down
Such an ethereal and lush soundscape Plini, Nice!
Absolutely amazing track. So glad music like this exists.
This is so freaking awesome! Your stuff always has such a unique vibe!
Oh god Yes! Sweet buttery baby jesus.
sounds like something Jacksepticeye would say
From the first moment I heard this album, I knew I was in love.
WOW! Plini is truly blessed with amazing talents as a guitarist and composer.
So glad nowadays they still make unpredictable music …
The last 500 times I've listened to this piece I hear it a new, with even greater appreciation.
Just preordered on itunes, super stoked on this album great job guys
You go so many places in your harmony
This is the greatest thing I've ever heard man.
Plini is such a gift. My favourite guitarist FOR SURE.
This is unique, Plini is definitively the best i've heard in a while, I need this album physically!
Plini, if you ever read this, I want to let you know this song blew my mind in such a way that has changed the way I see and write music from now on. I wanna thank you for such a masterpiece, each part of this song is literally insane. Thank you!
Handmade cities is mindblowing, every song is so catchy, this is really impressive songwriting and execution, feel so uplifted with this album..
Awesome hybrid, awesome tunes. The whole album is a revolution
Thank you Plini.
Was absolutely blown away by the amount of talent in this song..
Put up a reaction video for it and had no idea what to expect.

lmaooo u right
Discovered this guy and animals as leaders yesterday. In awe, instant fan!
never never never disappoints!!!!!!
Fuck me! Never have I been so impressed by instrumental tech metal this much before. This is just brilliant. It takes me on a journey of never ending musical ingenuity. SO FUCKIN GOOD! Plini, this is the best instru-metal record I've heard in ages. Bravo!!
Does not sound metal to me. Sounds like a typical vai song. Which is only a good thing. Maybe at the end with the fast pedal it sounds metal.
@@julien2231 Metal has variety of sound on a different sub-genre. If you think metal just sound fast, full of random scream and blast beat, you need to get out from the cave you in.
@@ayie583 if you assume what people think, without asking them, you need to go out of your cave more. See?
Anyway. This is awesome music but its not metal and certainly not djent.
The mastering of this song is amazing...
This is bordering on soundtrack epic... more, more, more!
I think each one of Plini's songs are the best song in this world
this sound so godamn amazing, especially production wise, very good!
So amazing, you're music has shifted my way of playing. i cant wait to see you in Houston in December. It's my bday present to myself.
I love your music. keep on surprising us!!! with your energetic music. 🤘
These guys are definitely evolutionizing a new way of music
2:48 Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Most likely intentional. That's a one-of-a-kind lick
Hits like a supernova every time.
what a reference
Handmade Cities is genius. Whatever you are doing, it's amazing. Keep developing your style, PLEASE.
Never heard such an exciting rhythm guitar line !
If I ever have kids I'm going to sing this to them when they go to bed at night.
I was never too keen on Plini, but I just gave this full record a spin for the first time and I gotta admit that this record is brilliant.
This album is goddamn euphoric. CANT STOP LISTENING
Best of Plini right here!
This song is Plini's magnum opus. Nothing short of perfection.
Yes.
I still think that honor goes to Selenium Forest but this is pretty damn close too.
Fantastic! Love the punching drum mix.
i literally listen to this album every day :)
Steve Vai posted about you. You win dude.

Just listened to the whole album through. This is definitely the best song on here! This whole album is amazing though. AOTY for sure.
Brilliant as usual, my man.
I love this so much!! It's beautiful :D
5:12 goosebumps
4:28 how addictive is this bass solo (if that's what it is? I can never quite tell)
One of my favorite guitar player ...
Never heard of these guys until I saw they will be on tour with animals as leaders in December. So looking forward to hearing more epicness from plini
This song is amazing.
does anyone else hear the albums full story in this? god i love it. that is pure genius in composition.
I was looking for this comment. This song is a story.. some fucking how.
Clay Bouquet it is! It has the same hooks as electric sunrise and kind! They are amazing little Easter eggs haha
yeah, they’re called motifs. periphery albums are chock full of them. ofc a bunch of others too like northlane, thornhill, while she sleeps, etc etc etc etc
this is pure love ♥
Im happy to see Plini this month jan2019 at House of Blues of Anahiem California. Yeah finally... \,,,/
Thank you Plini. SUPERLOVE
