For years, i had suspected I can send midi info to external hardware, i'd just never tried it! Today, i found a MIDI out on the back of my audio interface (never knew my interface even had midi ports). I hooked the midi out up to the midi in of my yamaha reface and set the track's midi output to the audio interface - hit play - and the midi played on my synth, as if it were me playing it! That's pretty amazing, and to think i've never tried this before, is nuts!! What i can do now, for the first time, is use this method to capture the audio from the self-playing synth while i fiddle around with its controls. This also opens loads of possibilities when it comes to sequencing for live playing! Very grateful!
Thank you my man, that was so helpful the MIDI cc part was such a bonus, I have a keyboard with no mod wheel and a synth module so this is just amazing. All the best from London.
To solve the problem with tracks dispalcement after recoding, just record with Low Latency Mode switched on. I checked that on my system and it helps. Great video.
Nice video! Very informative. I would like to see a V2 video where you control patch changes on the external synth via logic and bring external patch names into logic, as I’m trying to figure that out right now.
Thank you so much. No more trying to capture all of my synths right on beat via audio lol... I just got two Moog synths last week. A Matriarch and a One. I knew this was possible and have done it before, even in Logic. It's just been a long time, so I finally care enough to learn it again. Thank you
Thanks so much for this amazing, amazing series of Logic Pro X tutorials. The package is enormous and your information is so helpful! It has saved us hours of hard slog. Cheers Mate from Glenn & Dave.
To clarify, any key press or mouse click on the macbook causes the unexpected sound event. If I run the module ouside of logic just attaching directly to the Korg there are no such extraneous note events. Thanks again for any feedback.
Thanks so much for this. I needed someone to step by step this setup for me and you did exactly that. I rarely comment on videos, but i had to express my gratitude for this one. Ill definitely be binge watching the rest that you made.
Amazing! I'd been trying to figure out how to do this for longer than I want to admit. Now I have it saved as my default, and I can get right to work when I open it up. Thank you so much!
Love your videos. You’re so knowledgeable and thoroughly explain everything so it’s easy to understand and put all the pieces together. Thank you for channel!
Wow, I watched this video 2 years ago.... people upgrade equipment and learn new things.... I learned how to do this same set up TODAY without using the audio cable.... the key was setting up an aggregate device, this will allow you to only use the USB audio function connected from your keyboard directly connected to your computer and.... also use a audio interface.... this method you showed also worked for me but I was trying to ONLY use the USB. So now I have an option to use both.... im sure your probably have upgraded the Liquid 56 by now. I still have mines but I upgraded to a Clarette 8pre which is USB and not firewire. the entire key was creating an external instrument and routing the sound back into it.... for the MOXF8 it sends on channel 1 but receives the audio on Channel 3 automatically. The manual sent with the MOXF8 was useless and I just figure out how to use the tone generator by watching another old video..... so now my keyboard auto cable are not even connected but Im still hearing the internal keyboard sounds via logic pro.... im very happy now..... now I can finally start using the internal drums in the MoXF8 which are amazing.... thanks for this video, it also helped.
10:17 i'm having these same problems and its really annoying. Is there a fix or some measure to mitigate this problem? Maybe even disabling the delay compensation when doing the bounce to audio?
thanks a lot for this one! very useful! the issue I am facing, is that I cannot synchronise clocks of external Korg synths with Logic clock... I hope a tuto could be published on that one... many thanks!
Waaw, Your video helped me . I use the Motif XS8 and Focusrite 18i20 with Pro Logic with MIDI Cables as I don't find a convenient USB MIDI driver for the Yamaha. I use Mac with 10.13. HighSierra. Since a while I am struggling how to connect everything. Your MIDI CABLE concept works perfect ! I just could create an external midi track and I can control my old but best friend Motif XS8 from Logic Pro. All my other synths >I have , even the MS KORG mini is recognized by Pro logic immediately when USB cables are used. It would be great if I could install maybe an USB MIDI drive on my Mac for the Motif XS8. I googled and I did not came wizer. I see Yamaha USB MIDI drivers are available for many macOS but I din't find one for 10.13 High Sierra.
Actually, I have a few vintage synths. I also a rack with four vintage synth modules and a MIDI patchbay to keep all the MIDI cables organized. I'd love to see a video on how you would use Logic Pro X to make all these pieces available to record.
I was puzzled as to why the sound from my external midi keyboard could only be heard providing the midi track was selected on the main page. After much head scratching, it turned out that there was a midi master volume control surface assignment which kept turning the sound down on the keyboard. Either deleting the assignment or ticking the "No Reset" box in the track inspector stops this happening.
You still recorded the first tracks by using MIDI plugins (like e-piano). The question im after is, how to record a synthesizer thats connected via MIDI through the interface into you DAW like an audio track straight away?
A big thanks to you, now i can record my korg arranger's internal sound as a midi.. and after your tutorial i am able to do it successfully You made me so happy..Thanks a ton..
Hello. I hooked up a midi keyboard with an M-Audio interface. When I play the keyboard midi data gets recorded but I'm not getting any playback. If I drag a software instrument part on to the external mdi track, still no playback. Any ideas? Thanks.
At around the 5:00 minute mark in this vid, what might be the reason my Scarlett 2i4 interface isn't available as a MIDI OUTPUT device from the Output drop-down menu? Driving me nuts, seems like something very remedial is preventing this. Thanks!
Hey Guy: If you're still checking comments on this vid I have a couple related questions. Set-up: LPX 10.8, Ventura, Mini Mac intel. Nectar T6 61 note controller. Motu UltraLite Mk5 Audio Interface. I am about to pull the trigger on a Novation Peak. The only other outboard gear that I use is a DSI Pro 2. I'm considering the best way to hook this new device up. I could just go audio and midi in the the MOTU and the T6 should control it when I get everything on the same channel? Or I could run the usb out of the peak and into the MacMini. Your input is appreciated. Also, what am I looking for to sync the interesting arpeggiator in the Peak to LPX? There maybe a clock sync on the Peak set to slave? Thanks for all the great videos over the years. I'm probably your oldest fanboy!
Must you print to audio? Can you not have corresponding channels assigned onthe motif and daw so that at least you can have all your four tracks running different midi sounds through the motif. You can then export your whole song as mp3 or wave whenever you're finished.
I am having trouble with my connecting my synth via MIDI. I can get it to work in as audio in Logic, but when I try to connect midi in/out to my interface I start to get problems.. 1)I get midi signal and the sound from the synth in logic BUT when I load another sound for another track the previous sound disappears and is replaced by the new one. There is also no sound from the midi track when I turn my synth off and just have logic running. 2)The sequencer doesn't work, it just clicks when the MIDI cables are connected (much less of a problem) because I can just use an audio track and it works fine.
Thanks for this video, but my problem is recording multiple midi to audio track. I record trac with piano midi then to audio but when I record a 2nd or 3rd track I get the same sound from track one (piano) on track 2 and 3. How can I fix this
I have managed to create and record my midi track for my Avalon as shown but when the track played past the midi bar (where the pattern should stop) it carries on playing, which isn't good for when I don't want the Avalon playing in the track, how do I solve this please?
Hello, I have a big problem : my MODX8 and my audio interface are connected to my computer via USB. I want to use the sound of my MODX8 in MIDI on Logic Pro X but no sound comes out ... I don't know why, I must have been wrong in the configuration, can you help me please?
You would need to have the motif midi out connected to the midi in on the interface if you are doing a midi bulk dump, voice/part/performance/ multi edit on something like Midiquest or something similar.
how does it work with a synthesizer that doesn't have an usb? i want to play the roland jv 2080 module, with my old korg synth that doesn't have a usb output. from the audio inteface midi out to the roland jv 2080 midi in, and then midi thru from the roland jv 2080 to the korg synth midi in? what happens then? is that already wrong? thanks for any help
hey i have 2 synth korg karma and korg kronos x 88 how do i connect them to my daw logic x i have this soundcard audio kontrol 6 mk2, thanks for guiding me ,connection from soundcard and how to activate them in logic x ,newbie i am...
my equipments are Focusrite usb, Alto mixer and Korg Pa4x. I have connected the pa4x to iMac and installed the driver. But in logic prox in preferences audio my pa4x does now show up, however when i want to create an external midi track the pa4x shows up and i click on it then channel will be there. but i do not get any sound out of my pa4x to logic by that i mean there is no signal. what do i do plz help.
Since this is a popular channel for Logic Pro X, I would like others to test an issue I have with my several macs running Logic X. To get some background, I'm composing a large scale orchestral work and instead of the horrible Sibelius playback (nice scoring though!), I have produced an audio mock-up using Logic and several outboard MIDI sources. All was going well until I came to long accelerando passage where I noticed that the external MIDI was drifting out of sync. If one stopped playback it would correct itself from that point but drift again the longer the tempo change went on. I decided to test this issue with a straight 4/4 crotchet (four to the floor, but on something hard like a cowbell or block) and have that play a virtual instrument, then copy the track and have it play on a hardware module through a normal MIDI interface, then increase or decrease the tempo over say 32 bars and I found that the playback of both tracks started drifting out of sync. This issue affects all three macs with different MIDI interfaces, it also affects different modules. I haven't bothered to report this until I have more evidence, since Apple will probably ignore the request unless more report it. Also to note, Logic Pro 9 doesn't have this issue and is rock solid but I do like the extras of 10. Cheers, Colin
Sorry this is so long ago/maybe no longer relevant, but when running multiple MIDI devices simultaneously, I slave all midi clocks to the same source (That way, only one device gets to publish MIDI time code, and all others sync to it.) So, in all but one device, set MTC to external.
On creating an external MIDI track my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 Interface isn't an option in the MIDI output dropdown.. any ideas? Flow -> MIDI Keyboard -> Computer -> Interface (Firewire) -> Interface MIDI out -> SH01a MIDI in -> SH01a Audio Out -> Input 7-8 Interface The only option I get for output on external MIDI dropdown is Roland Boutique SH01a 1..?!
Hi. I tried to connect my digital keyboard to my computer to use it as a midi keyboard and i success. On my daw i record a track using it but when i playback the track, the sound came from the speaker of the keyboard. Can i make the sound to come from the monitor instead from the keyboard speaker?
I've had the concept of connecting the midi equipment and recording back the audio from it, however one very critical piece always missing in these videos is how to actually creating the external hardware patch mapping (like Sonar has using the .ins instrument mapping file). Do you have any information on how to do this? thanks.
I'm trying to do the same thing with a Roland MT-32. I have the original MIDI imported into Logic. It automatically assigned close sounding internal sounds and multiple tracks were created. When I copy these MID tracks to new and assign external instrument - CH2, I can hear the MT, but the pitches are off and random notes also can be heard even though they are not in the MIDI info. I know I'm getting close, but there must be some other Logic settings I'm missing. Any advice would be appreciated.
As usual an excellent clear step by step guide - thank you! I imported a midi file (with 10 separate tracks) , connected midi out on my Focusrite interface to midi in on an external unit - EMU Proteus 2000, and the outputs from there to inputs on the Focusrite. I was able to subsequently print on to Logic Audio tracks as per your instructions. One problem I have, however, is that in midi mode the panning value assigned is ignored. All the separate tracks play back in the centre. Of course, I have overcome this by using the recorded audio tracks, but I was wondering if I wanted to stick to the midi track if this could be resolved in one of Logic's settings? Your help would be much appreciated.
Great video. Unfortunately my setup still isn’t working. I’m simply trying to send various program changes to my guitar effects (Line 6 HD500x) . It’s a similar setup to yours except guitar. I have my guitar going back to a focusRite audio input. I have a Roland Um-1 Mk2 midi to USD cable so I can send midi from my MacBook pro to HD500X (guitar effects). Problem is simply (after following line 6 advanced guide re messages) the program change is simply not changing my effects at all. I guess the issue is first where is the issue so still trying to trial and error as part of isolating the problem but if you’ve got any tips most appreciate it. I am sending a Bank Change CC0 (Bank MSB), CC32 (LSB) message with a value of 0 (for Setlist 1), 1 (for Setlist 2), etc., followed by a Program Change message (Value 0-63 for Preset 01A - 16D) for the desired Preset within the Set List. The Set List and Preset are loaded on POD HD500X.
i need help pls . i can't select output 3 in the midi section, thats where my extern midi instrument is put in. just 1 + 2 are select able.. any ideas?
Hello Music TechHelp Guy, you maybe the only person who can help me on this. I'm desperate to use Pro X as the master controller to my old Roland VS2400CD using midi. I just want to be able to press play on Logic, and my old machine starts playing as well. I know they see each other because the Roland jumps an hour forward down a track when you press the return to '0' carriage control on logic and will move back in frames when rewind is pressed, but it won't play. Can you shed any light on this problem....I know it's old school, but midi is midi, right ? Thanks.
I connected my yamaha s80 to logic via midi usb cable. When I plug it in logic posts the message "Now 1 input and 1 output available" but it doesn't work and won't play logic vsts, much less record midi
hi! this is such a great video but i'm still trying to figure out my connection. i have a cobalt 8 synthesizer from MODAL Electronics and i'm finding it impossible to record midi into logic pro. could u plz help? :( i have a scarlet 2i2 gen3 which does not have the midi-in/midi-out, so that might be the problem. i currently have the synth connected via midi USB. i also have a midi to USB cable/interface that i have... it's called the M-Audio UNO. since i'm self taught, it could be a matter of some setting i have wrong that has me stuck in this loop! lol
hey there. Thanks for the video. Very useful. At the moment I'm having fun controlling my Roland jv1010 rack synth with my Microkorg using the Korg filter cutoff knobs etc. But i cant seemed to find a way to record the midi notes into the DAW, because the midi input on the roland JV1010 module is already in use with the Korg. Does anyone know if there is a way for the jv1010 to play midi data from the daw with the Korg controlling the cutoff filter etc? Does that sound confusing?
I have a Nord Rack 2, Roland UM-ONE MKII, Logic Pro X, and an Apollo Twin Duo. Do you know why I am not able to edit the module's parameters? I can only adjust the master level and change patches. I'm stuck and need some help.
So what I want to accomplish with Logic and my Yahmaha Motif sound module as well as my Roland XP 60 is this. When I sequenced songs using the XP as a controller and the motif for sounds, I was able to play sounds simultaneously from all 16 parts within the motif in relation to the 16 tracks in the Roland. Track 1 from the Roland played a sound from Part 1 in the motif, and so on. I want to know if there is a way to do the same with logic as the controller just to be able to freely use the motif sounds in logic. By freely, I mean I would like to be able to assign the parts from the motif to different tracks in logic where they would all play together as they did with the Roland. By doing this, if I were to mute a track that used a sound that by default had an after effect or sustain to it, the after effect or sustain would play out completely. and by mute, I mean to remove the midi notes from a particular region or using mute automation if that possible (I’m new to software). It would be challenging to capture the after effects or sustain via audio recording due to the work required with knowing where to mute each track when tracking it out into logic one by one. The other side of that is if it’s possible, being able to save the session in logic to where when I open the session back up, it will send a message to the motif telling each part what sound to switch to for that particular session. Aside from using the sounds in the motif to create new songs, I want to back up what I’ve done in the past to where I can update and reuse the the songs created.
Right, because when you use external synths this way, the hardware becomes your sound generator. No synth, no sound. If you want to keep the sound in your project, print the audio from the synth to an audio track and keep it forever without using the synth.
Do you have any videos that touch more on midi sync, external synchronization, smpte, tempo sync with sequencers and/or drum machines? Having troubles with this stuff. Thanks
I have an arturia keystep in MIDI mode going into a Korg Volca Bass, I can record the midi notes into Logic and hear what I'm playing, but once I am finished recording the midi notes I recorded are not triggering the volca basically I can record but not playback
You have to go into the midi control center app that comes with the arturia and make sure midi thru is on, I believe this was the solution I came across. Hope it works!
Hello i have korg karma and motif 7 as keyboards i use daw logic x 10.4.8 how do i connect my motif to be my master in a system. i want to use korg karma a lot and also motif 7 but also all the good vst stuff inside logic too so how is the physical set with midi cambles and how do i activate all in logic x to work smooth. i do ambient music made 5 albums so far i am to make my 6 album thanskf ro guiding me is very important to get help is urgent...
So I have a Juno ds which has the capability of sending the synth sounds via usb. The problem I run into is the quality of the internal sounds dont seem nearly as good compared to me just connecting the L and R to my Apollo twin and recording audio. Is this normal? That midi sounds worse than the audio? I want to be able to edit performances via midi but the audio sounds much more authentic. Fyi- I’m using logic and the external plugin. It also seems like the midi will record at a lower volume.
Great video, easy setup. What would the reason be that my Focusrite interface doesn't show up as an MIDI output device from the drop down menu when creating an External Midi track?
I had some problem with roland rd300nx digital piano. How to change sound to string or another sound because only piano sound playing when i playback the midi file?
How do I sequence multiple external midi devices on diff channels at once in Logic Pro X? I have my MPC sending midi channels 1-10 to sequence my ASR10 (ch 1-8) Emax (ch 9) and SP1200 (ch 10) I want the MPC midi data to "pass thru" Logic and be recorded onto a midi track so that I can edit midi event on a larger screen the videos Ive seen on using external midi instruments are convoluted at best, and most only show one device being trigger from a midi controller at a time
Hi There. Good info. I have a more basic problem that perhaps you could shed some light on. I have a Korg Triton Rack attached via usb interface (um-1) to my macbook pro. I use an akai controller which is also attached via usb. The issue is that any key press or mouse click while in Logic creates a non-stop sound through the Triton rack. Work around is to press combi or prog or multi on the Korg in between keyboard actions - this turns off the sound until the next click or key press. Seems to me that logic is sending the Korg some note on message with every click. Any ideas? Thank you.
Hi all, urgent help needed. I wanted to copy my midi into my external keyboard. I have created a external midi track and my keyboard is all hooked up but once I copy the midi track into the external instrument track, there is just no sound. Pls help! Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to get the mini nova synth to be used as a midi controller inside of logic pro? I've installed the usb drivers, turned on the mini nova but the mac doesn't seem to see it as a midi controller in the os 'audio devices' and neither does logic?
@MusicTechHelpGuy - do you have Logic Pro X templates that are preconfigured for a Motif Rack(the plain one), Triton rack and a Roland XP-30 ? What I'm looking for is to have the correct patch names and be able to control volume panning etc for each of my external midi devices... that way I can save the settings of my external midi devices for each song ! - Hope you know of a resource.. Logic used to do that with no problem back in tha day
Both Logic X and your teaching skills have finally brought MIDI into an understandable concept for me. Thanks!

You really are the best resource for doing shit in logic x
Just to say thanks very much for this video - I've finally managed to record the audio from my synth into Logic. Much appreciated!
I just spent 4hrs sending external instrument audio to buses/auxes, all of which caused delay. Thank you for saving me from myself.
Amazing! I'd been trying to figure out how to do this for longer than I want to admit. Now I have it saved as my default, and I can get right to work when I open it up. Thank you so much!
just got an MS-20 mini and this video explains easily how to record midi patterns! thank you so much!!!
You are the best teacher ever period!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
The best LPX tutorials on UA-cam.

Would be great to have a video on how to control bank and program changes using the midi environment. I have tried but have not been successful.
Thanks a lot for this step by step explanation, this is so helpful! Great job! I just printed my first midi track 🙂
thanks a lot for this one! very useful! the issue I am facing, is that I cannot synchronise clocks of external Korg synths with Logic clock... I hope a tuto could be published on that one... many thanks!
Outstanding as always .. gonna link up my Kawai K1m and DX7 reface!

Too many commercials... great info. I need help getting the names of the instruments from Moxf8 into Logic. I also have the Liquid 56.
Why does the audio have to be printed in WAV. Can we not just bounce the project without audio printing?
Can you do a video of how to use Yamaha Motif keyboard to use as external instrument please
What about sending start/stop messages via MIDI? For example, I'd like to use Logic as my main MIDI clock to sync all my external synthesizers.

thank you so very much!!! I have been struggling with this problem for a long time!! Kudos to your efforts man!!! :-)
when i put the midi into that chanell it doesnt play it
I see my MIDI data, but can't playback any audio...the audio is being routed through my audio interface and can't get it to work
Thats exactly what I was looking for thank you!
How do you route a MIDI track to audio track so you can record audio from hardware synthesizer?
Once again, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You are such a great teacher!! Thank you!
my usb midi is not showing up at 5:45 please help
Could you please help me in connecting Roland xps30 synthesizer keyboard as midi to logic pro x

2)The sequencer doesn't work, it just clicks when the MIDI cables are connected (much less of a problem) because I can just use an audio track and it works fine.
Having trouble getting this to work with a Roland (Juno-DS), any other owners have any luck?
Thanks for this video, but my problem is recording multiple midi to audio track. I record trac with piano midi then to audio but when I record a 2nd or 3rd track I get the same sound from track one (piano) on track 2 and 3. How can I fix this
Please show us daisy chain version i literally can’t find anything !!!!! It’s been driving me nuts for days
Thank you for being so informative and NORMAL. So many ridiculous “personalities” on UA-cam these days!
On creating an external MIDI track my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 Interface isn't an option in the MIDI output dropdown.. any ideas?
Flow -> MIDI Keyboard -> Computer -> Interface (Firewire) -> Interface MIDI out -> SH01a MIDI in -> SH01a Audio Out -> Input 7-8 Interface
The only option I get for output on external MIDI dropdown is Roland Boutique SH01a 1..?!
Do you have any information on how to do this? thanks.
Hi Josh,
Can you give me some info as to how to record a patch or sounds from the Yamaha Montage into Logic Pro X?
I'm trying to do the same thing with a Roland MT-32. I have the original MIDI imported into Logic. It automatically assigned close sounding internal sounds and multiple tracks were created.
When I copy these MID tracks to new and assign external instrument - CH2, I can hear the MT, but the pitches are off and random notes also can be heard even though they are not in the MIDI info.
I know I'm getting close, but there must be some other Logic settings I'm missing.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi….I just recently got the motif 8……. How can I get it to read on Logic Pro x????
how can I add the Korg Wavestate as a surface on Logic. I'm getting MIDI playback but not hearing the wavestate.
I love you Mr. music tech help Guy! yout tutorials are the best :D
i need help pls . i can't select output 3 in the midi section, thats where my extern midi instrument is put in. just 1 + 2 are select able..
Eddie Esco did u ever figure it out ?
last i am to get audio kontrol 6 mk2 audio interface from native so how i connect all then with use of my interface ?
hi! this is such a great video but i'm still trying to figure out my connection. i have a cobalt 8 synthesizer from MODAL Electronics and i'm finding it impossible to record midi into logic pro. could u plz help?
Does that sound confusing?
would I be able to e-mail you I have a midi board and a audio interface but i'm having trouble setting it up
I have a Nord Rack 2, Roland UM-ONE MKII, Logic Pro X, and an Apollo Twin Duo.
I get sound but the minute I unplug the midi synthesizer I get no sound
Right, because when you use external synths this way, the hardware becomes your sound generator. No synth, no sound. If you want to keep the sound in your project, print the audio from the synth to an audio track and keep it forever without using the synth.
Do you need a Focrusite to play with the synths? Or do I just plug my synth in with a usb into my pc?
Do you have any videos that touch more on midi sync, external synchronization, smpte, tempo sync with sequencers and/or drum machines? Having troubles with this stuff. Thanks
I have an arturia keystep in MIDI mode going into a Korg Volca Bass, I can record the midi notes into Logic and hear what I'm playing, but once I am finished recording the midi notes I recorded are not triggering the volca
basically I can record but not playback
You have to go into the midi control center app that comes with the arturia and make sure midi thru is on, I believe this was the solution I came across. Hope it works!
Hello i have korg karma and motif 7 as keyboards i use daw logic x 10.4.8 how do i connect my motif to be my master in a system. i want to use korg karma a lot and also motif 7 but also all the good vst stuff inside logic too so how is the physical set with midi cambles and how do i activate all in logic x to work smooth. i do ambient music made 5 albums so far i am to make my 6 album thanskf ro guiding me is very important to get help is urgent...
a perfect answer to my need, thanks dude
So I have a Juno ds which has the capability of sending the synth sounds via usb. The problem I run into is the quality of the internal sounds dont seem nearly as good compared to me just connecting the L and R to my Apollo twin and recording audio. Is this normal? That midi sounds worse than the audio? I want to be able to edit performances via midi but the audio sounds much more authentic. Fyi- I’m using logic and the external plugin.
It also seems like the midi will record at a lower volume.
Great video, easy setup. What would the reason be that my Focusrite interface doesn't show up as an MIDI output device from the drop down menu when creating an External Midi track?
worked great, had to switch on "stereo out" to hear something. red flashing lights all over the place that make cool Nord Lead 4 sounds now. Thanks
I've installed the usb drivers, turned on the mini nova but the mac doesn't seem to see it as a midi controller in the os 'audio devices' and neither does logic?
thanks man! always helping out!
@MusicTechHelpGuy - do you have Logic Pro X templates that are preconfigured for a Motif Rack(the plain one),
Triton rack and a Roland XP-30 ? What I'm looking for is to have the correct patch names and be able to control volume panning etc for each of my external midi devices... that way I can save the settings of my external midi devices for each song ! - Hope you know of a resource.. Logic used to do that with no problem back in tha day
