A 7mm model of the Somerset & Dorset Railway at Bath Green Park. OCTOBER 2020

The railway is based in the 1950's and 60's up to closure. The track layout is as close as can be in a model and includes Green Park station, both S&D and Midland sheds, Midland Bridge and S&D yards, Bath Junction, Devonshire Bank and tunnel, Lyncombe Vale, Combe Down tunnel, Midford station and viaduct, Writhlington Colliery and exchange sidings and is run with correct stock and to timetable for the period

That model is fantastic. I only went once to the sheds at Bath in steam days and i have only seen the S&D on videos . The railway was just like being there. Thanking everyone involved with making this video

The old Christchurch - Ringwood Branch was something of an enigma. Once the link line from Brockenhurst to Bournemouth was finished and became the main line the Ringwood branch was redundant. Anyway the stub of the branch left at Christchurch was the ideal destination for these pigeon specials. The birds could be released and the stock berthed until later in the day when they could make their way north again.

Hi, the ‘Castleman Corkscrew’, as the circuitous wandering through the New Forest was dubbed, did indeed mean that the first railway service for Christchurch was near Holmsley crossing the Lyndhurst Road several miles away from the town.
The stub remnant of the later diversionary line, at the later Christchurch station, after wandering south from Ringwood, was mentioned in an Ivo Peter’s film of 1957, as used for Pigeon Special releases.
The history of the S&DJR ties together many strands, spread across southern England. Not all of them directly linked to, but served by the idiosyncratic but much missed S&D victim of Beeching et al.
The flavour of your ‘O’ gauge tribute to Green Park etc, is a dedication to that ‘rationalisation’ amounting to a homage. Well done.

Wonderful as always. Have you ever considered putting smoke generators in certain spots like where locos would stand at the station or on shed to make it look like exhaust from the cylinder cocks? I know some people do it but not everyone does.
