    Excellent episode. So good to drift away to yesteryear. My folks used to live in Englishcombe Lane. The climb up cut through below their home. Certainly knew when line closed, as the washing was not scattered with smuts.

    Superb yet again. This is got to be one of the best layouts on UA-cam. It never fails to entertain, and is never disappointing. They say that a layout is never really finished, but I can't see anything I would change. I also like the smooth running of the trains as this adds to the realistic atmosphere of the real thing. Cheers Chris.

    I have to agree with many of the earlier comments. In addition to the low-angled shots, I particularly enjoyed the passing view of the two locos making their way to the shed.

    Another excellent episode of S&D action and very impressed with the Eastern stock and appropriately headed north by the A3. The camera angle of following the locos going on shed worked very well and a different view, very original. I am glad to see that you are making a good recovery and the jet washer remains locked in the shed!

      Thanks. The NE stock belongs to a friend. All Ian Kirk kits he has built and painted. Looks good. Hence to do it justice I put my A3 on the front.

      Thanks and I couldn't resist putting my A3 onto that excellent rake of Gresley and Thompson stock that visited Green Park for a short while.
      I have an A3 and A1 which are kept off the normal S&D timetable running and are a throw back to my teenage years living in York in the early/mid 60's so whilst the S&D is my railway of choice I have a very real soft spot for NE locos

    Always great to watch and thanks for sharing your wonderful layout. The last shot of 44560 on banking duties. I'm building a 4mm version of 44560 of her and I'm stuck on making it's lubricators and what is the last things you see as she starts to head back towards Bath? The lubricators! I think they are mocking me. LOL. Thanks again and Keep Safe.

    Ah another excellent video, thank you. I'm so pleased the engineering dept decided to improve the bridges between Mangotsfield and Bath, what a lovely surprise, who can resist an A3? Imagine the fun if S&D enginemen could get their hands on that engine! I thought the Fertiliser train was interesting with the 2-8-0T. Some interesting moves required to access the Midland Yard, although it later departed the S&D yard so was there some trip working inbetween that saw it move over from one yard to the other? Always a pleasure to watch your layout, best regards and stay safe, Dave.

    • @bathgreenpark2485
      @bathgreenpark2485  4 роки тому

      Thanks. Yes had the bridges been able to take the extra weight who knows what might have been seen in Bath. We know V2's got to Bristol on trains from the NE. So not too much of a stretch to think an NE Pacific might have got to Bristol as well?
      The fertilizer specials came from the chemical works at Avonmouth and were a Q working down to Blandford which was the distribution centre for North Dorset farms. In fairness brought into Bath by more likely a Midland engine but not beyond the bounds of possibility for a WR engine to be used from St Philip Marsh shed.
      There were transfer trips between both yards. The S&D yard was in the main for freights coming in from the north to go on down the S&D and the Midland yard for northbound freights up the S&D to then go on to Bristol/ Westerleigh etc. This seems to be the normal pattern but not necessarily exclusively from my research

      Many thanks. The Gresley/Thompson set belongs to a friend and was visiting which is why I put the A3 on the front. Couldn't resist it.
      The 12 wheel restaurant car is part of my Ex LMS set that I have had for many years. I commissioned Mr Binns to build them for me from his kits. Lovely carriages and run so sweetly.
      I'm looking forward to the new Dapol Mk 1's due for release this month! I've ordered a maroon set to replace my aging Westdale express set + a 3 car SR set.

    Certainly did enjoy watching this. Any chance of a Midland 0-4-4T some time in the future? I know they were mostly associated with the branch from Evercreech Junction but they were also used on the Bristol Temple Meads locals. I have three well-thumbed volumes of Ivo Peters', two of them signed by the great man.

    Loved this one! Great insight into operations out of Green Park, and especially up the bank through Lyncombe Vale. Fascinating to hear about the use of a bank engine token - I had never thought about that sort of token use. Was it widespread? Keep safe, and thanks!

    • @bathgreenpark2485
      @bathgreenpark2485  4 роки тому

      Thanks.
      The banking engines needed to be protected as they did not run through to the end of section at Midford and so as they passed Bath Junction SB they collected the engine banking token, banked their train up to Combe Down tunnel where the gradient changed from 1 in 50 up to 1 in 100 down and once they had seen the brake van disappear into Combe Down tunnel they reversed back down the bank and only once the token was returned to the apparatus at Bath Junction SB could the signals be cleared and then set for the next movement on this single line

    • @ba14eagle
      @ba14eagle 4 роки тому

      There was also a bank engine token in use for the Radstock bankers, that banked trains upto Masbury summit. It gave protection whilst they ran back to Binegar, where they regained the right road.
