Christensen action? I’d imagine it will shoot much better than a factory chambered barrel. CA has a bad reputation for accuracy. Looking forward to seeing the results!
@ This is true, but I have had 3 CA rifles, and NONE of them shot very well, especially with factory ammunition. I had a 300 WM Mesa Long Range that could only manage about 1.5 MOA with factory loads of any kind, and barely MOA with very well tuned hand loads. I had a ridgeline in 300 WM as well that was even worse. Just too much money and hype for the performance it would return. Needless to say, I got rid of them.
Is this for yourself? Because you don’t like shooting 7 SAUM because of recoil. You’re gonna hate 300 Norma. Is the goal to find a load, hit at a mile, be done with it?
Unless it’s over 40 pounds I think it will still kick more. Much more powder, much bigger bullet. Maybe weight and a huge brake will get it less, but then you are getting blasted with a lot of concussion. I’m not trying to be a Debbie doubter, it just doesn’t make sense on its face to me. I haven’t run the numbers so I could be wrong though. Hope it turns out to be something you enjoy.
@@RobsReloadingYou going to get some longer range footage? I get lazy and will use different rifles depending on the range I'm going to. 300yd gun ain't my 600yd gun, the 1000yd capable gun isn't one I want to casually blast every weekend.
Fun build ! Look forward to watching the build 👍
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out mate, cheers Yogi ✌️
That's awesome I did a 338NM on a Christensen action. Rifle shoots amazing with a bartlein tube
Yeah man big boy 300 norma keen for this one ive been contemplating one of these also
300 Norma improved is what you need. Really makes it shine when shooting 245s
Agreed!!
Can't wait !!
Awesome!
Make me a barrel for a savage model 12lr while you have the reamer. I can't find one anywhere
230 berger?
I’m torn between the 300 PRC and 300 NM. What’s y’all’s pick?

if you chambered it your self it has to hammer

My Ca I had shot very well but have definitely heard horror stories about almost every manufacturer. Except tikka. Switching to them has been great!

@ just a fun little project. Won’t be shooting a ton of rounds out of it
Just throw a muzzle brake on it?
