Bergara Barrel Issues, Tenon, Borescope
What was the barrel size and because I have a 6.5 that is too small for the tuner brake
I'd expect much better than that out of a "precision" rifle chambered for 6mm Creedmoor. You are getting some weird stringing too. How does that load do at 100 yards? Groups should be nice and round, even at distance. Something not quite right with the rifle or load..
That thing is feeding like crap. You are getting major horizontal stringing. I'd also be concerned about that POI shift.
Great honest review. I appreciate it! Shame about the forend flex. However, I've handled two chassis and they all had forend flex. Do you have any other chassis to compare it to? Like is it more that an MDT lss xl gen 2 or the solid chassis? Great review. So hard to find honest reviews.
@@dirkd8202 yes this video is in the plans to compare
Let's see how it shoots without the suppressor. Bet you will have better groups.
Nice.
Green box is hard to beat
Ok I'm definately spoiled... 0.5 and 0.7 inch groups are starting to look big....
Seems sierra bullets are real shooters
I have always had good luck with the SMK.
Same here. Seems no matter what rifle or caliber the SMk’s just plain shoot!
I asked the other day about your bipod make and model. Would you buy again or something else. Looking at buying benchrest bipod but want to do it right the first time. So many options its confusing.
@@johnarnold2278 I bought another accutac if that tells you anything. It’s a very solid bipod. I think I have a video comparing it to an atlas for perspective
@RobsReloading thanks
I have one and love it. It is incredibly rigid. However, it is slow to deploy and very heavy. But, is perfect for the bench.
@@jordanlesamiz4599 thanks
So many options??? Go figure
How would you compare the 22GT to a 22 Nosler?
@@blindsquirrel3123 I don’t know anything about 22 nosler
Go to Johnnies Reloading Bench and look up 22 Nosler.
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out mate, cheers Yogi ✌️
Can't wait !!
Yeah man big boy 300 norma keen for this one ive been contemplating one of these also
Fun build ! Look forward to watching the build 👍
Is this for yourself? Because you don’t like shooting 7 SAUM because of recoil. You’re gonna hate 300 Norma. Is the goal to find a load, hit at a mile, be done with it?
@@Snailz5 the rifle is going to be very heavy
Unless it’s over 40 pounds I think it will still kick more. Much more powder, much bigger bullet. Maybe weight and a huge brake will get it less, but then you are getting blasted with a lot of concussion. I’m not trying to be a Debbie doubter, it just doesn’t make sense on its face to me. I haven’t run the numbers so I could be wrong though. Hope it turns out to be something you enjoy.
@ just a fun little project. Won’t be shooting a ton of rounds out of it
300 Norma improved is what you need. Really makes it shine when shooting 245s
Awesome!
230 berger?
You need to understand the purpose of a tuner. It is not intended to make good groups with ammunition your gun doesn’t like. You are wasting your time and ammo.
Christensen action? I’d imagine it will shoot much better than a factory chambered barrel. CA has a bad reputation for accuracy. Looking forward to seeing the results!
My Ca I had shot very well but have definitely heard horror stories about almost every manufacturer. Except tikka. Switching to them has been great!
@ This is true, but I have had 3 CA rifles, and NONE of them shot very well, especially with factory ammunition. I had a 300 WM Mesa Long Range that could only manage about 1.5 MOA with factory loads of any kind, and barely MOA with very well tuned hand loads. I had a ridgeline in 300 WM as well that was even worse. Just too much money and hype for the performance it would return. Needless to say, I got rid of them.
if you chambered it your self it has to hammer
Enjoy the videos Rob 😊😊😊 Can you please do a show on 22 Creedmoor 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Do you see better groups with the way you grip the rifle? I'm trying different ways but I find pulling the rifle a lil in to my shoulder helps
@@kyley808 no, I pretty much shoot the same grip and form all the time. I did some test back in the day and it didn’t amount to a lot of difference for me
I see. Awesome thanks man
My 22arc will break a tip off an 88 every other shot, tje tip will get crushed between the shoulder of the cases and wall of my chamber fenting my shoulder and sometimes it'll still go into battery snd firs eithout me knowing..not good..ill never buy tipped Hornady .224 and thing again..the 70cx perhaps because they shoot very well.. but failures like this eill absolutely send me off looking for a better product from a different manufacturer..
If you have an aw cut action you should really get the gray ops aw mag. It is expensive but worth every damn penny
I have had trouble with staball match to get consistently low SD's. I find it to be a very accurate powder. I guess i will still fork out the money for Varget. My next try will probably be VV N140. I have had great luck with N540 but I hear it is a real barrel burner.
I've gone away from the 500 series Viht powders for that reason. They're great for getting velocity if you need it but they burn hot and erode the barrel throat. Love the 100 series powders and anything Hodgdon extreme extruded
What was the case fill like at the top charge? I've been using SB65 in 6.5x47 this year and it's very inconsistent.
@@bigal4334 case fill is probably close to 90%
@@RobsReloading Certainly room to go up then. I may pick up a # of HD and try it with the 140 Bergers.
I have the original Solus. There is no hitch or stutter when closing the bolt. It is smooth and precise. I have used several actions and none were more smooth and satisfying to use, regardless of price. Teamed up with a Proof barrel and Macmillan stock, I have shot 6 Dasher five shot groups under .05 inches at 100 yards. I was in disbelief when it happened. Clearly, the action is top shelf. Just don't buy directly from Aero Precision. They have NO customer service. You will wait forever and they will never contact you. It is impossible to reach them. They are primarily a manufacturer and should not be in the direct sales business where they are a total failure. Buy from Brownell's or some other known outlet.
I’m at 2801 out of a 28 inch barrel with 140eld M and 38 g of varget. Under 6 SD over my last 50 shot string during a shooting session.
Could you Possibly do a video on a comparison of the 6.5x47 and the creedmoor?
@@jamesgermond5140 they are essentially the same cartridge pick whichever one you like
Glad to see you tried the squares. I really like them I find the corner gives the finest most consistent poa possible. But everyone’s eyes are different sorry you didn’t like them.
It seems your Triggercam footage is much blurrier than others, to the point that I skip watching the video.
@@ewathoughts8476 the reality is the trigger cam isn’t perfect. Mirage, view through the scope impacts the image generated. I actually enjoy the trigger cam footage and some situations makes it much more convenient to record.
What do you think your "minute of wobble" would be...if at all. Even when well rested instill get wobble..and consider that a factor in group size...to estimate possible accuracy of the rifle/ammo by excluding Known or perceive human error margin...angle of wobble. This of course is just a theory..etc...a pondering Nice shooting... Thanks
@@misterlewgee8874 I’d say wobble is at least .2-.3 depending on the dat
Had so many hang fires with the 400s,I stopped shooting them. They “emergency only” now. 450s did a lot better. I switched to 41s and I won’t look back
What brand and model is your bipod? Bern looking at one for bench shooting.
@@johnarnold2278 accutac wb4
Nice look forward to your 300 NM videos
Four shot groups are just too small to allow objective differentiation among them, especially true if the group to group variation is small. The closer the dispersion, the larger groups you need to shoot to sort them out. With your extreme spreads and based on 4 shots, unbiased estimates of the group dispersion are: 0.15" for ES = 0.42" 0.17" for ES = 0.47", and 0.23" for ES = 0.67"; 90% confidence bounds on the true dispersion are (0.10, 0.28) for the 0.42" ES (0.11, 0.31) for the 0.47" ES (0.15, 0.43) for the 0.67" ES. These bounds are on the true dispersion not the observed ES. Remember, ES is a random variable based on sample size which gets bigger the more you shoot. The bounds above overlap significantly, so you cannot reliably conclude there is any difference among those three groups, despite what you think you see. The sad truth is that to sort out small differences, you need huge samples, something most of us, given time, wear & tear, and cost, are not willing to do ... the tyranny of small samples
What’s up Robert!
What’s up Robert!
What dies are you using
Love it when it comes together 😊😊😊😊😊😊
In your opinion, is there a 10x value difference between your Mark 5hd and your Discovery Optics HD? I keep looking at these discovery optics and they are tempting.
@@chasebricker639 no, but some things you can’t place value on. For instance is there significant improvement in performance say from a howa action for 300bucks and a custom action for 1500.
You may want to try tweaking just a bit. The 90’s can shoot down in the 0.2’s in the 22gt. Out of curiosity, are you using a V style benchrest bag? I figured you are based on your trigger technique, but wanted to check.
@@SuperJlarge game changer rear bag
@ gotcha. Just trying to see if there was an external factor that was causing the horizontal dispersion. Good video. I hope to test my 22gt once the snow lets up. RL26 has been nothing short of amazing for groups/velocity.
Do you compete in shooting competitions? Hunt coyotes? Just wondering if the load development and equipment extends beyond the bench.
Great job 😊😊😊
RMR bullets are cheaper
Coyote crusher! Nice. Thank you.
Looking like its getting dialed in.
