If you look closely, you'll notice that OLED stuck at 1040MHz GPU clock, which appears to be a bug. So this test is not representative of an actual difference
If you watch the whole video you see that this is only during the beginning of the benchmark.
@@MrCoffisthe whole video is a benchmark, so I have no idea what you mean exactly. If I'm to correct myself, this bug only shows itself in the first 2 scenes and at the very end - otherwise, OLED Deck is noticeably faster
@@celestial_froggyI thought the opening scenes are during the in game benchmarks. Some games have the option to run benchmarks so that you can decide on your graphical settings and it doesn’t look like gameplay. I thought the other scenes were during actual gameplay because of the way it looked but it seems they are also part of the benchmark. Either way you can still see the performance of the OLED when not stuck at 1040MHz later on. So you can expect it to behave in a similar fashion when the bug is resolved.
any ideas how to fix?
@@sam.alexander.reviews there doesn't seem to be a fix yet, other than manually setting GPU clock in quick access menu to whatever value
I like how when the steamdeck goes to the black loading screen, you can see this guys face
And when the screen goes black I can see my face on his face. Crazy !!!
Don't use the 4GB frame buffer. It makes performance worse on RDR 2 and doesn't matter in most other cases.
oh weird!
Good video. The Two benchmarks not being synced up drove me a little crazy tho.
course they come out with an oled version when i just bought one
I feel like another comparison that could be made is their max settings where you're much more likely to see a larger difference between the two
good idea!
maybe it has to do with cyoutilities, it might not be suitable for the Oled deck
Great video. Please make more performance comparisons 😅
Cryo says 4gb vram is broken on rdr2 (becomes a max instead of a minimum)
according to cryobyte33, 4gb ram kills performance on rdr2 and gtav. he also said cryoutilities needs to be reworked for oled
oh really? aight thanks! i'll see if he has anythign out for the OLED yet (cryo is da bomb)
gonna wait for gamers nexus
Thank you!
Where do you get music like this? So nice…
story blocks :)
What kind of settings did you use for rdr2?
i made a video on it! check it out on my channel
Settings?
Not sure what was up, but the OLED fps were way lower for the first part of the benchmark. Do they both have the same bios vram settings?
Could be cache if it was tested while he started the game the first time on oled
Most likely it's a shader cache issue
yeah i couldnt figure out why, i ran the test 5 times on the OLED and it had low framefrates in the snow cabin scene every time so not shader cache, not sure why
@@sam.alexander.reviews even though they said oled version is the same as lcd, but they did change the chip inside, so probably just wait for Rocket stars or steam to fix the problem, 6nm chip suppose to be better than 7
Nice!
Paid 800 for the 512 LCD. 1TB OLED is 600.
oled has slightly 2-3 fps more and thats it pfff
depends on the game, it can be as high as 20% in my testing or as low as 3%
The OLED looks amazing, I'm buying one now. Xbox x and PS5 is a waste of money at this point.
I cannot stress enough how amazing it is for the same price as an Xbox you have nearly identical performance/fps. Its interferface is just as seamless as a console out of the box. You don't have to build it like a normal PC. Use it on TV with a controller, or keyboard/mouse at a desk. And it's a tiny portable handheld!
