Just so you know, emulation is not illegal. In case of Yuzu, they were using some stolen code from Nintendo Switch SDK, sharing roms in their Discord and selling early access to their updated version of emulator that supported new Legend of Zelda. Those 3 illegal activities made up for a juicy lawsuit. That being said, emulation alone is totally legal and that was confirmed in court back in 90's when Bleem! got sued by Sony for emulating their console. As long as you dump your own disc images, it's totally legal.
Wow! Thank you so much for this info, I didn’t know it, I will try to read more about it. I didn’t know that Yuzu became so greedy as well. As far as dumping my own discs, well, I have those games on my switch, but still didn’t want to show the gameplay. I’ve seen several times how Nintendo tried to ban such videos.

I'm referring to emulation not cross play games. of course online only games are out. it isn't hard to find the games you own. it's harder to set up the emulator. I stand by what I said. if it plays on emulation chances are it plays better on Deck than on the actual switch hardware of course with any emulation it isn't guaranteed so it is hit or miss.
@fantom0369 I tried Zelda BOTW & TOTK, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Kirby the forgotten land and the performance is worse than on the switch. That’s enough for me to know that the Steam deck cannot replace the switch.
I purchased the 64GB LCD variant at launch. Best purchase I have ever made. I upgraded to a 1TB SSD after 1½ year, complementary to the 512GB SD-card I used and I have gotten so much enjoyment out of the device. I play on it everyday and even though the OLED is around. I can't justify the upgrade since the LCD is quite honestly "so good". The screen gets WAY too much hate online. Sure color range is a bit small, but in most games you can just crank up the vibrancy to mitigate that without any real loss in detail. It is super bright at 550ntis (not 400nits like Valve says), resulting in a screen that is often set to 50%: 250nits. At least for me as I am often playing indoors in a lit room. In that scenario the black-levels are WAY more black than the OG Switch. I mean, think about it, when you go to a cinema in a dark room they only light it up the screen to ~50nits... now imagine 550nits in a low-light indoor scenario. It think that's where the "glow" complaints come from. People have their brightness cranked up way too high, completely disregarding adjusting brightness depending on surrounding light.
As you said, I feel like without a pc a window based handheld would be the way to go. But having a pc, the deck is such a chill thing to use. I can use my pc for more heavy games and my steam deck for indies. And the battery gives me like 6 hours on those smaller indie games, it's amazing.
Unless the PC you use is running Linux anyway. I've used Linux for at least 15 years now, there's nothing you could do to get me to use a Windows PC. The Arch Linux distro on the Steamdeck is slightly crippled since they don't want you bricking the deck but I think casual users of Steam OS think Linux is kind of like Android or something. All my PCs run Linux, even my gaming PC w/5900x and 6900xt, there's nothing it won't play short of the odd title that uses some anti-cheat that proton can't run yet.
Windows based PC handhelds are more powerful BUT they have a major issue with windows not being well suited for a handheld. The ui is frustrating to use, and you have a lot of weird issues where some games run great and others require a lot of tweaking. In a handheld device you don’t want to be messing around with settings like that the steam deck is just like using a dedicated console. Handhelds are marketed toward the casual player community because people just want to pick them up and play for short periods of time
I have the LCD deck. Ever since the update that allows you to change the vibrancy and color temperature, I've enjoyed the screen a lot more. It's much less washed out seeming.
This was such a good breakdown, I really appreciated your comparison of the LCD and OLED by giving your friend a test. The LCD went on sale so I've been trying to do research on which is more suitable and this helped me decide :)
I just ordered the LCD. While the oled screen is great, I just ordered a 512gb steam deck lcd of Amazon for $700aud/470 Usd. The old is close to double that
My friend, the video is very explanatory, very enjoyable to watch and very satisfying in terms of information. Thank you and I wish you continued success.
I just traded my Vita for a Ayn Odin Pro threw a 265gb memory card in there and now have more N64 & PSP games than I can count. They all play amazing. Best trade of my life so far
@@megadungpie unreal truly amazing. I recommend 100% the graphics are so good on my Oled even at 40 fps and things. I’m a console Xbox gamer so the hardest part is acquiring games again but the ability to play on the go and anywhere is truly untouchable.
I got my steam deck by complete coincidence. When they first came out my dad had bought one for himself and told me he bought one off his friend because they bought one out of their budget. Me and my dad do have PC's so we don't use them as often, but i like to bring my steamdeck when I'm on trips. We both got the LCD ones since the OLED wasn't out at the time, and we didn't see a point in upgrading if we didn't use them as often. Either way it's still very enjoyable to use! They are definitely much better for smaller games as it lasts longer, however you can still play something like baldurs gate if u don't have a gaming PC ❤ just know you'll probably need a battery pack lol
I had been going back and forth between getting the SD OLED or wait for the new ROG Ally. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered the SD today and I’m super excited. I know the Ally has a better performance and your able to play more games but I don’t see myself playing games that require anti-cheat, I can just play competitive games like that on my pc.
I was going back and forth between the legion go and the oled steam deck. I have a pretty beefy gaming pc and wanted to try a windows handheld. In the end I did my research and decided to get a oled steam deck.
After doing a ton of research, I concluded that the OLED model is like the iPhone N Pro Max, is there if you like it, but not a completely necessary thing, that's when the non pro iPhone models enter, they are perfect for what they are, that's the LCD Steam Deck.
I used to think steam deck was the go-to handheld for pick up and play, but adding steam OS to my legion go was such an amazing decision. Never using my deck anymore
Im sold!!! Thanks so much id rather get this than pay $700.00 plus tax on PS5 pro. Cheers mate never knew you could install Windows this opens up possibilities or mirror my Xbox series X😂
Oh boy can't explain how much I love my deck i have been in love with it ever since I got it delivered I have been playing games since I was 11 stil remember playing games on my ps 2 those were golden days bought a ps 4 the day it was released ind India but never used it much than upgraded to ps5 just because I wanted to and thought may be it will make me fall in love with gaming again played few exclusive titles like ghost of tsushima and gow Ragnarok but never enjoyed it much but than I rcvd my deck after waiting for a month and half the wait was over the first thing I did i bought 15 games from steam games that i would never play on ps5 like uncharted 4 and metro series and I can't explain how much I am in love with this little piece of tech
I've got the bitter taste of buyer's remorse with my switch oled after 2 years, seeing these steam deck videos really make me regret opting for the switch
I'd only get a steam deck 2 when it comes out, my original steam deck lcd is my main gaming device, I paid scalpers prices for it at launch and I'm still not mad about that, it was worth every penny
Thank you! Yeah, I guess that’s a hook for the views. But that’s silly. Switch is not a bad console that needs replacement 🤷♂️ the only thing that can replace my current switch is the new switch 😄 yesterday we got hints of what that might look like and how it will perform. I’m sooo hyped now haha
Yeah the world is changing, I hope Linux will get more recognition from the companies. I’m sure devs already would like to work on Linux rather than windows
Thank you for the amazing review and comparison, man. I hesitated between OLED and the previous version, but now, considering the lower price of the OLED, I think I found my perfect handheld device🤝P.S. Make a video about LEGION GO and ASUS ROG, please
Its unbelievable how well Steam Deck runs games on limited power. It can run many PS4 era triple A games at 40 or 45 fps when paired with an 80 hrtz or 90 hrzt refresh rate to get 2:1 smooth playing experience. Especially for games that are able to generate frames through FSR or DLSS. Its a dream device. I disagree with Reviewer, the OLED is by far the better devices, not only for the screen but the other upgrades.
Thank you for this video! I've been doing research on the steam deck and this video was definitely informative. I plan to get a Nintendo switch first as I do enjoy the games Nintendo has to offer and want a portable console. Then in the future, I will save up for a steam deck. I'm a casual gamer but since the ps5 release the ps4 doesn't offer as many games I enjoy anymore, or they just aren't available for the ps4. Steam seems to have so many games I am interested in playing and the option to take the console when I'm traveling is super convenient but also the option to connect it to my tv or monitor is super nice if I want to play in a bigger screen if I am at home. Again, thank you for this video. :)
I pre-ordered the 64gb model, and slapped a big SD card in there. Thing works great and I love it! It's definitely close to console experience, considering it's PC. A well made OS for sure, although not perfect (none are). If I could get the OLED, I would, but just doesn't seem feasible financially personally. I'm thinking of just saving and waiting for steam deck 2 to drop, and enjoying my LCD steam deck in the meantime.
My 526GB LCD is only a week old, but I feel the battery isn't enough still. Should I upgrade? I could afford to get a 60% return on it and pay the last 40%.
It depends on the game. Try tweaking the tdp and GPU clock. I get a massive battery life upgrade when I do this. You don’t need all the power in every game. When it comes to battery life, Steam Deck and all these handhelds are not impressive, so you might just stick to your lcd and enjoy it.
@MaxDendy Hey again! Just wanted to say you were right, tweaking those settings really made all the difference. I'm still new to PC overall so a lot of this is foreign to me but I'm sure I'll get to grips with it in a few more months. Thanks again!
Depends on the game... Got both lcd and oled, - oled battery life is 60%-120% better! In heavy AAA games it will gave you +50-60%, in light games up to +120% In my experience: lcd deck average battery life is +- 3 hours, oled is +- 5 hours.
Always curious about these types of videos. It’s rare to find one where the video concludes that the Steam Deck is not for them and I think that makes sense. From the beginning Valve said people are going to know if Steam Deck is for them or not just by looking at it and I wholeheartedly agree with that. I have not interest in going back to the OG Switch form factor from my Switch Lite let alone have some “handheld” three times the size. For me comfort is small and light.
Well, I thought Switch lite is for me, but I was wrong. I preferred the regular. I believe that you should try to know if that’s for you or not. I also believed that Legion Go is the best option for me just by looking at it, but I was disappointed.
I've always wanted to get a Steam Deck but I wouldn't mind waiting for the next gen Deck to come out since I do have my PC that's doing the job well and I don't really travel for the past few years
Thanks for this great video! Would you make another video to compare Emu frontend tools? I see the new version of EmuDeck added Pegasus. I use it on my PC and it runs very well, but on SteamOS, I can barely find how to add a BIOS or a game...
So, which part of a switch is not replaceable by a Steam Deck? I have both and it can play almost every Switch game. And I can use my Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con. Even can be Docked like a Switch.
@@MaxDendy hmm. Which game from your current library outside of Switch Sports have you found not to work? That’s the only one I’ve found so far in my library. Excluding games that are multiplayer online using NSO.

My Deck replaced the Switch for portable play right away. Especially since I can play multi plats on my desktop PC in even better quality also and because I can emulate games I dumped myself rather than paying for a Nintendoflix subscription with only few selected titles. On the opposite, I love my Switch for docked play and still play Splatoon 3 like crazy, sometimes Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe too. People who play Fortnite and Valorant or LoL are awkward and weird creatures though. No feeling bad for them losing access to those games due to Linux not supporting rootkits.
The new yuzu forks go a long way for a better emulation for totk, as long as you fine tune the emulator settings. Can't link but you find the video on youtube.
I’m looking at getting one, I’m a console gamer that wants access to steam games. How good would this be connected up to the tv and using my Xbox controller?
Kind of amazing isn't it? The Steamdeck is running mostly Windows games on Linux and the user experience is better than Windows handhelds running Windows. I've been a longtime Linux gamer and while Valve has always contributed to the cause of getting Windows games running on Linux under Steam, there were massive improvements in the 2 years prior to the Steamdeck announcement. I never really did a ton of handheld gaming but I pre-ordered a Steamdeck the day it opened.
Hey, can you please share your experience on how you were playing before the Steam deck? I’m thinking of building a pc and switching to Linux altogether
@@MaxDendywell it's pretty game specific but in general a new AAA title that uses new DX features might not run on proton immediately. For example, Doom Eternal took 1 week to get running on Proton, then it ran perfect. Halo infinite took a year for some reason. Some newer CODs run fine immediately, some will probably never run because they use kernel level anti-cheat. Unless something changes there l, that's how it is. Oddly enough, alot of games actually run better on proton than in windows. Mind you, now that steamdeck is a massive hit I expect that game studios will go out of their way to make sure the games are compatible with proton, especially if a Steamdeck 2 comes out and it's another hit.
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
A lot of people still have issues with remote play where the wifi adapter goes into power save mode after booting up from sleep/off and are forced to toggle wifi off/on for it to work flawlessly. Since you didn't mention the issue the issue in your video, is this an issue you've ever encountered? What router are you using?
Hi, I’m using the router that came with the provider. It’s their brand. The only issue I had is low resolution and glitches, but that happened because of the bad wi-fi signal when I had many devices connected to the same wi-fi.
I'd like to say.. emulation isn't illegal. Also I'd say the LCD version is the smart or reasonable choice because you can get it for very cheap... I still got the OLED though as a little treat lol
Hello together I have a question for you. I would like to buy a Steamdeck but can't decide between LCD or Oled. I am a family man which means limited time for gaming. What do you think is the LCD version enough or is the Oled a must because I don't have one yet? Greetings from Switzerland
Buy an OLED if you can afford it. Bigger storage, better screen, betters sticks and touchpads, improved battery life, improved cooling system, improved speakers.
I fall in love with this gear, get my 256 lcd model three days ago and i dont regret it, i play cyberpunk and my god its just so diffrent compared to playing stationary on my xbox, but ofc game itself have poor optimization i have to set lovest setting because i had enough of crashes and idk if i buy dlc because i am scared that game gonna work worse but overall its great experience and luckily my library of games is huge.
I finished cyberpunk on ps5 and played on the Steam deck via remote so I’ve never tried it natively on my own. However, I’ve heard many praises on Reddit about how cyberpunk runs on Steam deck. How many fps do you get? Do you use FSR?
@@MaxDendy Damn my comment get old fast 😅 because i did settinngs again and its all good but yep i use fsr, i use lowest settings and is great i am not expert about fps, but i think i get 60 easliy, game works a lot smother after settings so yea i can't complain because after that i don't get crashes its mostly my fault honestly because I didn't pay attention to what I was setting, so now its all good still more positive than negative i feel like a little kid discovering gaming again i fell in love with this console seriously, so yea guys if you have problem with cyberpunk just check settings and make sure you have fsr and set some of the setting for lowest works for me, i care more about experience than graphics. Edit:Okay I discovered performance oberlay level i get mostly 60fps but gpu is mostly from 70-90% idk if its good with gpu but yea runs good so thats what matters.
The steam desk OLED actually replaced my Switch because of all the RPG games i am not able to play on the Switch and also you can download games while in sleep mode you just need to setup in your system to go to sleep in 5 minutes and when it auto sleeps your download will still keep going on.
I bought an LCD last year during the summer sale, also bought a matte screen protector and upgraded the storage, my only real gripe is battery life, it seems to only last about 2.5 hours on a game like RDR2.
If you're planning on getting a handheld, go with the OLED. Upgrade the storage if you need to (don't watch the ifixit video if you do, they got things wrong). I had a rog ally and the battery was awful, as it will be even with their newer model.
I am wanting to get a Steam Deck, but I don't know if I should get Oled or LCD because the difference in price is a bit big. I do want the one that is the best and will spend a little extra if I have to, but just want to know if it is worth the extra $200.
@MaxDendy I do have a Switch (LCD, not worth the Oled upgrade for just screen), PS5 and decent gaming laptop. This will be something to play the games I have on Steam (also seems I can have Epic Games on and that'll be for my free games I got), but just without all the driver updates and hassle to just pick up and play. I have decided to get the Steam Deck Oled and it is thanks to your video for bridging the gap between the two devices and how great it holds up. Would you say based on how I will use it that the Oled is the correct choice?
Here because I just ordered an LCD Deck because Valve/Steam slashed the price. The 512GB is under $350 since they're discontinuing it, along with the 64GB being sub $300. While I'd love the OLED, I grabbed the 512gb because the price seemed perfect to get back into my Steam library (mostly pre 2015 games) that I'm a little concerned will run or not. I checked out Proton DB, but I'm a little confused as it gets full of jargon pretty quick. Is Proton an alternative launcher? Seemed like a lot of the recommended settings under "Gold" or "Silver" compatibility ratings mentioned changing things deep in desktop mode
Im in usa i heard its harder to order in usa and also im a truck driver can you do video of pros and cons for the steam deck needing internet all the time or can you download the games and play offline?
So is valve is tbe owner of steam right? Is that the same model or is there gonna be an improved model with slightly higher specs in July. There's a preorder but i figured it is because they sell out so fast. Sucks, i wish i bought one of these instead of my ps5. I never p l ay my ps5 and i have good games on it. Series X gamepass is crazy worth it and i think a steam deck could save my gaming life, i really enjoy handheld so much better but switch can't handle anything heavy. Switch is still amazing, incredible exclusives, too much a pain too mod unless u own 2 of them. (So many great RPGs i can't find time to play at home)

@@MaxDendy You're partialy right, the issue for people you've mentioned is that all the "tech youtubers" are referring to SteamDeck as a "console" which is .. lie to put it lightly. We need to start naming things as they are before words stop making sense
@mrogalski well. It’s hard to name them a computer, because the main purpose is gaming. They are advertised as gaming devices. In addition, a traditional computer has a mouse and keyboard. The purpose defines the naming. I would not call them computers because I would not do the work I usually do on a computer like browsing, watching movies, editing videos, office stuff, etc.
@@MaxDendyBut you can do all of that work on Steam deck easily. You can't do any of that on a nintendo switch (without modding). These are much closer to a laptop than handheld console like the switch.
I agree with you. You can. And it’s cool. But would you? If you already have a laptop/computer, more likely on windows or macOS, why would you need to take your gaming device with Linux and do this work on it?
I dont know if i want to agree or disagree, i dont have any of handheld consoles. Planning to get one after decade of survey and observation, saw the new ROG ALLY X just announced and looks appealing, but my heart still on the SD Oled maybe because of efficiency.
The x will be a handheld PC too and blow oled sd out of the water. They say SD can be a PC too but Linux steamOS doesn't run anything well outside of games. No printer options, no thumb sticks and such only micros, if they mean only web surfing, well that's not a replac pc
Well, it is better because it is not banned, but worse because the performance in general is worse. But still it depends on the game. Some games run better with ryujinx

Handhelds are marketed toward the casual player community because people just want to pick them up and play for short periods of time
Your review helped a lot. Just placed an order for a steam deck, can’t wait to start playing it
Wow I really appreciate it man. Please update me when you’ll get yours
I am in the same boat, which version of steam deck did you finally order?
I just ordered the LCD. While the oled screen is great, I just ordered a 512gb steam deck lcd of Amazon for $700aud/470 Usd. The old is close to double that
@@Bezeursame here. OLED sounds great but from what i saw they start at high 700s.$
got my LCD today, it was amazing!
@@pjreed45in usd I think it’s $640 for the best one
My friend, the video is very explanatory, very enjoyable to watch and very satisfying in terms of information. Thank you and I wish you continued success.
Thank you so much for these kind words! 😍
If you're a Linux fanboy like me, this with the Steam Deck Dock can just replace your computer.
I just traded my Vita for a Ayn Odin Pro threw a 265gb memory card in there and now have more N64 & PSP games than I can count. They all play amazing. Best trade of my life so far
U should be charged with robbery 😂😂😂
Wow, I got two jail broken vitas. Does the deck run vita games?
That was a really good review we appreciate mine comes in a few days and I am ecstatic
I wish you a great experience!
Well? How is it?
@@megadungpie unreal truly amazing. I recommend 100% the graphics are so good on my Oled even at 40 fps and things. I’m a console Xbox gamer so the hardest part is acquiring games again but the ability to play on the go and anywhere is truly untouchable.
awesome review. thought it was pretty fair in how you compared steam deck with windows handhelds and pointed out the flaws of the deck
That’s the right decision! Without a PC yeah maybe you would need a windows handheld, otherwise Steam deck is a great addition.
I was going back and forth between the legion go and the oled steam deck. I have a pretty beefy gaming pc and wanted to try a windows handheld. In the end I did my research and decided to get a oled steam deck.
Had the LCD deck . It's absolutely Amazing you won't regret it
Hello, is it possible to play CS GO and CS 1.6 in competitive mode? or is anticheat necessary? thanks.
@higor097 well, you can play them because these games made by valve too.
After doing a ton of research, I concluded that the OLED model is like the iPhone N Pro Max, is there if you like it, but not a completely necessary thing, that's when the non pro iPhone models enter, they are perfect for what they are, that's the LCD Steam Deck.
Hmm interesting comparison 🤔 so after your research which one are you going to get? If you want to get it of course.
I got the LCD model a couple months ago
this is actually a good comparison

Something about games from ps2/gamecube era mesmerizes me. I installed so many games from that era on my deck and I am having a blast.
that was relevant to me, thank you.
Genuinely the best breakdown video (and I've seen a lot lol)
Thank you 🙏
I've got the bitter taste of buyer's remorse with my switch oled after 2 years, seeing these steam deck videos really make me regret opting for the switch
I’m still having fun with my switch. No other handheld could replace it. You once bought it for a reason, there is nothing to regret about ☺️
I'd only get a steam deck 2 when it comes out, my original steam deck lcd is my main gaming device, I paid scalpers prices for it at launch and I'm still not mad about that, it was worth every penny
thanks for the review and fair output. Too many reviews do the "replace your Nintendo switch with this right now" shtick
I still can't believe I was sitting at my desk on the steam store page when the limited edition dropped. I do not regret my impulsive purchase.
I wish to have it 😫 looks gorgeous
Valve is emphasizing Linux. Maybe in the future mega gaming companies will port Triple A games to Linux. One can only hope.
Yeah the world is changing, I hope Linux will get more recognition from the companies. I’m sure devs already would like to work on Linux rather than windows
I think that instead of making ports for linux they should support proton or wine more it is way easier to develop and bringing games to Linux
Thank you for the amazing review and comparison, man. I hesitated between OLED and the previous version, but now, considering the lower price of the OLED, I think I found my perfect handheld device🤝P.S. Make a video about LEGION GO and ASUS ROG, please
you are talkin yibberish , you went for the LCD version
This is probably the best and most useful review of Steam Deck.
Oh thank you so much 😊
Thorough and great review! This video sealed the deal for me in getting the steam deck
Thank you! ☺️
I can't wait to get my hands on a Deck, tried it when I used to work with a colleague who had it. Hopefully I can get one for my birthday.
Good luck with that! Which one are planning to get? LCD or OLED?
@@MaxDendy OLED if Ms allows ;)
Gonna stick with LCD until 1080p oled
Great review. Thanks. What is that skin on your steamdeck? Would love to see an accessories video.
amzn.to/4e3ylsh
Thank you :) I will think about it, just need more accessories for that
Thanks for the link, I just went a bought it. Can't beat 9.99
Babe wake up, Max finally found his youtube password. ❤
hahaha thank youuu 🥰 much love bro I really appreciate it 🥹
Great vid bro. Was going to get a LCD but thinking maybe I’ll wait a little longer and get the Oled
Thanks, bro. Yeah, that’s a good decision. You made the right choice
In heavy AAA games it will gave you +50-60%, in light games up to +120%
In my experience: lcd deck average battery life is +- 3 hours, oled is +- 5 hours.
Thank you, this made me feel better about getting the 512 lcd instead of an oled. Couldn't pass up the 512 being on sale 😍
My LCDeck is still rocks 😊❤
Awesome review sir!
Thank you so much 😊
Always curious about these types of videos.
Steam Deck OLED is the best piece of tech I have bought ever!
Great review man, what is the keyboard you are using in your desktop set up?😊
Hey, thank you 🙏 that’s Keychron k2 with retro Mac keycaps also from Keychron. My version is hot swap rgb
I just ordered my OLED 512 GB Deck today. Now to wait patiently..
Do you recommend buying used steam deck LCD or used? Still saving on a tight budget.
The Ally and Legion Go may be able to do 30 watts but good luck if you're not plugged in
U sold me on the steam deck!!!! Great job
Great review. Am I right @Maxdendy is a combination of your name and the first game console in USSR?
Hey, thank you! Initial idea was Dandy, like English but I didn’t like the spelling. So, now it’s like a console 😅.
Got 2, it's the best thing that's ever been made
So, which part of a switch is not replaceable by a Steam Deck? I have both and it can play almost every Switch game. And I can use my Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con. Even can be Docked like a Switch.
Yeah, ALMOST every game. That is the part.
@@MaxDendy hmm. Which game from your current library outside of Switch Sports have you found not to work? That’s the only one I’ve found so far in my library. Excluding games that are multiplayer online using NSO.
@@blackph0enix tears of the kingdom and scarlett of violet run worse, also a few games such as mario party (superstars and super mario party) do work but are sorta ass with just buttons.
Just to clarify tho, I still love the steam deck and use it 5x more than my switch.
@@footyeditso66 gotcha. Might just be me then. My Scarlet copy ran like garbage on my Switch so I didn’t notice a difference on my OLED Deck.
got my LCD pretty close to when it launched. think i will wait for steam deck 2. Oled doesn't seem worth if steam deck 2 will also just be better than that
My Deck replaced the Switch for portable play right away.
The OG Rog Ally is about to get a discount. At that point it might be great to get it as well as having my lcd steam deck for emulation.
Emulation is not illegal ma boi
The distribution of games is
Finally, a new video, pls upload more often
I hope I will! thank you for staying with me 🥰
I’m looking at getting one, I’m a console gamer that wants access to steam games.
2+ years of having my Steam Deck LCD & honestly have no need to upgrade - I'll get an OLED if I ever FUBAR it, but the LCD is perfectly fine for me.
I'd like to say.. emulation isn't illegal. Also I'd say the LCD version is the smart or reasonable choice because you can get it for very cheap... I still got the OLED though as a little treat lol
Are emulated Nintendo games free?
I'm planning on emulating paper Mario and Zelda games
Jean Claude Van Damme is right, the OLED is amazing, I just got one and I can't put it down!
Hello together
I have a question for you.
I just bought mine a couple days ago. I got the lcd version. To me the screens don’t make much difference.
Congratulations! Yeah, don’t worry. LCD SD worths every dollar
Well I like it.
Honest review.
But the price location does vary.
I saw it for 550 on bbcs
Yeah. The price I mentioned is for the US without taxes.
I've been itching to get the steam deck for awhile. But I'm too broke. Hopefully the deck 2 will come out soon and prices will drop.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have the first steam deck. And i want to ask. The "features" are the same for both deks? Sorry for my bad english.
besides the screen of course.
Well, yeah. Just a little different trackpads and stick, but feels the same besides the screen.
Still better than windows handhelds, so don’t stress about that
How long has the oled been out?
I’m travelling round Sicily for 3 months starting next month and I’m thinking of getting it
It was released 7 months ago
If you're planning on getting a handheld, go with the OLED. Upgrade the storage if you need to (don't watch the ifixit video if you do, they got things wrong). I had a rog ally and the battery was awful, as it will be even with their newer model.
I am wanting to get a Steam Deck, but I don't know if I should get Oled or LCD because the difference in price is a bit big. I do want the one that is the best and will spend a little extra if I have to, but just want to know if it is worth the extra $200.
There are many factors to consider.
Will it be your main gaming device?
Have you had a Nintendo before?
What are you going to play?
And many others
@MaxDendy I do have a Switch (LCD, not worth the Oled upgrade for just screen), PS5 and decent gaming laptop. This will be something to play the games I have on Steam (also seems I can have Epic Games on and that'll be for my free games I got), but just without all the driver updates and hassle to just pick up and play.
I have decided to get the Steam Deck Oled and it is thanks to your video for bridging the gap between the two devices and how great it holds up. Would you say based on how I will use it that the Oled is the correct choice?
Yeah I’m definitely going with this instead of the others
In your opinion which would be the best handheld device if i want to play rdr2?
Same here. Impulse bought just now seeing that deal. Insane deal for brand new
This video is awesome thanks dude. I might still buy a micros sd and install windows on it you know for personal use and work (office and power bi).
Thank you! Oh it might be easier now after valve released the windows drivers for the oled
I just got my steam account last September I already have 145 games in my library. I have a problem
Im in usa i heard its harder to order in usa and also im a truck driver can you do video of pros and cons for the steam deck needing internet all the time or can you download the games and play offline?
I got a steam deck lcd for 250 at GameStop so yeah
I'm realy fascinated how people are like "You can connect all the computer stuff to that portable computer" and are making a huge point out of it. I do have to ask then - what did you expect out of a portable computer? To not be a computer?
Some things are more obvious for some people. There are many non tech savvy people making a purchase decision.
With all the positives I see, I don’t know if I can wait till Black Friday/Cyber Monday fffffffff
You now this steam deck is good I heard bad things but after owning one it's good on the games that support it 👍
steam deck and legion go are the best handhelds you can buy right now
If you want windows I agree ☺️
What games was that on the last part of the video?
What about Ryujinx? Is it worse than Yuzu on the Deck?
Well, it is better because it is not banned, but worse because the performance in general is worse.
But still it depends on the game. Some games run better with ryujinx
What game was at 9:42?
Risk of Rain 2
Does final fantasy remake and Baldurs gate 3 run good on steam deck OLED?
