I wonder if you use AR glasses and turn off the screen to save power would it work?

Had since the 1st shipment from Valve, currently its just a chill device when my dogs are outside in the backyard chilling with the family. Suggestion get a pair of Xreal glasses or similar, it will change it even more.

I saw another UA-camr make a good point, I can’t remember who it was though, but they said “The Steam Deck is great for busy gamers”. And it seems like it couldn’t be more true.

I just cant wait to be able to play my PC games at my friends house without lugging around my actual PC.

Just came across your video searching for someone testing cs2 on steam deck in 2024. Now I know I’m not the only one to have performance issues. I tested it myself and god, I really cannot understand why Valve cannot optimise their own fucking game for their own device. Cyberpunk and Starfield working flawlessly in 30 fps, but fucking cs go (that used to work on 15 yo PCs before that shit called CS2) runs in 35 with unstable frame rate. And it’s even worse if you connect an external screen and set fullhd resolution. Thanks for your video.

I grew up playing a lot of games on handhelds, and one thing I always enjoyed about handhelds was the freedom they gave you. I don’t travel a lot personally, but I still like having a solution to take my games wherever I go and not being bound to a computer desk. I still play on my desktop, but I mostly use it for games that either don’t run very well on the Steam Deck or are just better suited for a desktop setup.

Would be cool to see a list or better yet a video of your favorite games to play local co op / competetive multiplayer on steam deck 👍🏻

I work for a tv station/studio and my favorite way of using my steam deck is in between shoots where i would sit in my techbooth waiting for something to happen. Even my boss took an interest in what i was playing. Im super happy how versatile the steam deck is ❤

I play in bed almost exclusively. Its so comforting, i can no longer be bothered to sit in my padded office chair at the beefy desktop. Comfort is king

I use it as a tool for relaxing after a long day. I have a collection of my favorite books (I've read 12 of them). I adore my steam deck as much as I adore my books. My books are for exercising my mind, my steam deck is for relaxing my mind.

Playing games while the other person drives is a violation of the prime directive of being in the navigator seat! You have to keep the driver alert and awake and on course.

I bought a steam deck just cause I’m a big fan of handhelds and the fact I can play console and pc games anywhere in the house or at my homies house if I want but I always connect a controller cause I don’t ever wanna mess up the joysticks or buttons

I use mine when I am laying on my bed almost exclusively

the trackpads are GODLIKE on the deck. use left and right swiping for aiming (disable vertical), and use gyro for vertical aim.

I honestly don't understand people saying they play on their phone or handheld on the toilet. If you are on the toilet long enough to necessitate playing a video game then that means you are chronically constipated, which is a serious medical malady. You need to focus on changing your eating habits to a healthy diet much more than worrying about being entertained on the toilet. Seriously, it should never take more than a few minutes to pass a normal stool, which certainly isn't long enough to even boot up a game.

yeah honestly i find the steam deck very useful when i need to leave the house and know i will have some time to play or when i wanna just play something chill on the couch. other than that, most games i play required mouse and kb and i just can't plug this thing into my 4k tv and play with upscaling and 30 fps knowing i have a 3080 ti on my desktop just ready to go. And why would i plug my steam deck onto my monitor at my home when i have a desktop ? Makes no sense unless it's ur only gaming machine. The steam deck is great at what it tries to be, a handheld portable gaming device, but i feel that ppl wanna make everything with it, it just doesn't feel right.

I just got a preowned steamdeck for 200 euro. Pretty happy about the price :) Already bought a 1tb corsair mini and Arctic cooling paste, the idea is to speed it up and freshen it up a little. Do you recommend replacing fan (or recommend anything else) while Im still opening up the device?

If you're a pc player and don't own an xbox - buying an xbox controller isn't necessarily the best because it either needs to be plugged in or you need the xbox wireless pc adapter - playstation you don't need this is just goes through bluetooth if it's a ps4 or 5 controller

was saving long time for a deck, was gonna buy 64gb model, but then just before my first flight, valve released the oled one so had to save even more. Now got the deck oled and main ways i use is just in bed or in school or just regular play on couch. also watch youtube and movies a lot on it. It basicly replaced the need to bring my whole laptop when im going out for the weekend and so. BTW get a protective case. I got the Killswitch one and it feels very weird to be without it when im so used to it.

I nabbed a refurbished 64gb Deck for $230, thing was practically new I verfied by the exhaust smell. Slapped in a 1tb ssd and I have not looked back! I love my Switch but being able to do whatever the hell I want with my Deck is a great feeling.
