Since publishing this video, I found a research study in the British Medical Journal looking at approx. 1 million people who took an ACEI such as Lisinopril over 21 years. It concluded that ACEIs were associated with an increased risk of LUNG CANCER, particularly if they were taken for MORE THAN 5 YEARS. I was on it for about a year. The longer I took it the more I coughed. It got bad enough that i was having trouble sleeping. Doc changed me to something else and the coughing stopped.
This video is basically everything we already know about Lisinopril and other ACE inhibitors. You're not sharing anything new. You might as well be reading out of MicroMedex.
After my father died- I had what was described as ptsd and because my panic attacks or “she’ll shock” as previously named - it interfered with my ability to support my family- I finally agreed to take Lisinopril - it worked. I was able to get through the physical/ psychological attacks- and function- after two years I slowly began to recover and quit taking Lisinopril much to the shock of my physician. A drug shouldn’t be a dependency but a means to getting better. I am glad for it’s efficacy but more grateful I overcame it’s necessity.
Lisinopril gave me such a wracking cough i would vomit every morning, i spent a thousand dollars on tests to be told i was perfectly healthy and finally my dad googled my medications and found the cough issue. I went back to the doctor to ask and they said oh yeah you totally have Lisinopril cough, that makes a lot of sense 🤬
I was on Lisinopril for many years without a problem. However, one day my tongue and face swelled up. The first question the ER doctor asked me was - was I on Lisinopril. He said it could happen even after being on it for awhile. My doctor then changed my meds.
I took lisinopril for a few years. On the last year I developed non/stop post nasal drip. Doctors gave me a few different meds to try but none helped. During an unrelated sleep study test the technician mentioned that lisinopril can cause post nasal drip. I asked my doctor who switched me to losartan. Immediate relief.
In 2008, I was told I should take it. Almost immediately I began having stomach issues. It progressed to my stomach swelling and I was in agony. I knew something was bad and stopped taking it. I began taking supplements to get back on track I began researching and discovered I had intestinal angeoadema from this drug. I began taking olive leaf extract and blood pressure has been great.
I didnt have any symptoms with a low dose of Lisinipril but a few weeks in, I got a blood test (due to anemia) they asked me if I ate a lot of bananas. I hardly ever ate bananas. They told me to stop taking it as it was apparently spiking my potassium levels. YIKES !
The vet 'scribed this for my cat~~half of a 2.5mg tablet daily. Seemed to help her for her heart issues. She was 12yrs old at the time and had heart issues. She passed a bit over 13, but she was much more comfortable against that issue.
Was on lisinopril for 10yrs, woke up one morning with a small hive on forearm, covered in hives within a couple hours. Stopped taking it the next day, hives cleared up within 3 days.
Be careful, I was given a higher dose than I need³😅² for some reason in the beginning. When I went to have the nurse check my bp it would not register when I laid down. This was why I was hearing my heart beat in my ears at night and was very dizzy almost falling at times.
Thank you, very informative and clear overview, especially regarding some of the common (but less well known) side-effects. Can you do one on Omeprazole please?
When you're on Lisinopril you should not trust your logical decisions because the drug messes you up makes you wander off forgetting where you're going and bump into walls first hand experience

I was prescribed Lisinopril for my kidneys. But my kidneys are functioning wonderfully according to blood tests. Don't think I need this drug anymore. Thank you! I will of course speak with doc before I stop taking it.
I fought with my Dr against taking atorvastatin. He had me on the highest possible dose as a "preventative" because I'm a T2diabetic. He was pleased that my LDL was consistently down to 55.. Lisinopril sent me to the ICU. It was considered opinion that I'd be dead before dawn. I fooled everybody. I survived a pain level of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10... a pain so great there are no words.
I have stage 4 COPD and diabetes. I'm on Diltaziem which has worked fairly well for my tachycardia, which is due to my heart trying to compensate for my lungs. I had a nurse practitioner decide to take me off Diltaziem and put me on lisinopril. Very bad move, because my O² levels dropped under 90%, with oxygen. My heart rate was down, but I needed to have oxygen to my brain. I stopped taking it and went back on Diltaziem.

I had two arteries clogged and I was going to doctor every three months and nobody ever said anything different than doing good doing good doing good so what this video says it does for me it did none of it
Lisonpril is only as a Emergency way to lower the Blood Pressure. But its not meant to be taken for ever...You need a good diet to offset the pressure issues.
I was only taking the lowest dose 5mg, and I hate taking medications. I found out that the supplement TMG (1000MG) helps maintain low blood pressure, and I started taking it without consulting anyone, and I'm completely fine! I take one in the morning and 1 in the evening. I've been using it for 8 months now, and my blood pressure is normal.
High Blood Pressure is the result of high insulate resistance. You don't have to be a diabetic to have insulate resistance. When you've got a ton of insulin in your blood, it raises the Blood Pressure.
SO DOES AN IODINE DEFICIENCY. They almost burned my thyroid out, which would've made it permanent. Luckily I did my homework and found the symptoms of iodine deficiency was a match. I narrowly escaped my doctor's incompetence.
I was on a very low dose of Lisinopril for a few years. My cardiologist took me off because it was lowering my blood pressure a bit too much, while not managing to help my AFib. I now take a very low dose beta-blocker!😉 (Btw....I also never experienced any negative side effects.)
I was on a low dose of lisinopril. After taking it about a year, I found I was constantly clearing my throat. I had to change to a different medication. Same thing happened to my mother. Just because you didn't have any side effects doesn't mean others are making it up!
