As you mentioned, hearing that Bioshock will be shown to the public in a Netflix format is troubling. The curse of not seeing a second season or even a series finale is a real issue with Netflix. I’ve wanted a Bioshock movie for so long but I don’t think anyone can do it justice unless it’s Verbinski or a Del Toro type director. It requires an “all in” approach from a studio and needs to come from a place of passion. Not to mention, it’s themes can resonate with non-gamers and be thought provoking enough to garner the money invested. I’ll watch the Netflix adaptation (whenever that sees the light of day) but I’m not anticipating it to be of the quality an entertainment piece like this should be at.
Seeing how Netflix butchered the Witcher by choosing a show runner and writers that doesn’t understand or likes the books and instead turn it into a something else makes me how that Netflix doesn’t have the right to the series.
Man I'm sorry this only has 500 views, I really enjoyed this video and the quality involved made me think this was something with half a million views. Regardless good video, and I really hope BioShock is made into a movie or show, I love this series and especially the prequel novel.

Knowing that bioshock morphed into cure for wellness is amazing i was always confused why people kept saying cfw is a bioshock movie but now it makes sense
I actually managed to find and read John Logan’s script, and it is SO GOOD! It’s not the game’s story, beat for beat, but it feels like an actual adaptation of the source material. I honestly think it could have worked out great, and might have been the first movie to break the “Video Game Adaptation Curse”. But alas, it wasn’t. A movie like BioShock could definitely be made today, but sadly BioShock is a dead cell of a franchise.
I wonder if a revival in the franchise with Bioshock 4 in a decade or so will renew interest enough that the nostalgia would carry it through to release similar to something like Tomb Raider 2018. I'm still very curious to see it done still
As an action game Bioshock was a masterpiece of the medium. However, its emphasis on its action makes it a rather poor spiritual successor to what it tried so hard to be: System Shock. We wouldn’t get a proper spiritual successor to this until 2017 with Bethesda and the now defunct Arkane Austin Prey reboot. Bioshock is Shock in name only.
Bro, how the fuck do you videos not have millions of views and the same on your channel? This video is almost a year old, and dude hasn't even broken a Thousand mark, wtf? Is the Algorithm sleeping or something?
I just watched your Criterion video, I looked at the sub count on a glance and thought it said 823k, and thought that made sense. I'm shocked it's only 823, subbed and left the obligatory engagement comment ;) You should put your twitter in your "about" page. Good luck, I think you're going to do well.
I think problem with movie adaptation of bioshock is that they wanted to do remastered copy of game you know it would be a original game but in movie version I really don’t think that would be really good because the veterans would know what will happen and new people would be probably scared by fact it’s game based movie (we all know that one movie veteran who absolutely hates games) and they would never watch it because it was referring to things that they don’t know I think if they ever want to do Bioshock on tv they have to give something new I mean something in world of Bioshock and rapture but absolutely new that just couldn’t be shown in fps shooter yea I talk about city before collapse just imagine everything that we only heard in game shown in long tv series You know all these stories that we heard in game but actually never seen It’s just so big potential for series of random but connected episodes slowly coming to final in fall of Rapture That’s a Bioshock movie I would really like to see not only for me but also for people who don’t know it A prequel of game
Mario just hit a billion and Last of Us is a critical success that will probably win some Emmys We're in the Age of Video Game Adaptions Sure Uncharted and Mortal Kombat '21 both sucked ass but they found a way to properly adapt Sonic into a film series at a time where his franchise was in some serious trouble and managed to give it some respect and confidence back so yeah screenwriters are figuring out how to properly adapt video game source material I would LOVE to see a proper Bioshock movie but I don't know if any director could handle the game's themes of objectivism, class warfare, survival of the fittest, choosing your own destiny, ect. while also having the massive scope of Rapture with it's creepy and dark atmosphere and having all the Splicers and Big Daddy's looking awesome. It sounds like Verbinski COULD have pulled it off but the timing prevented him from doing so. Right now it looks like Francis Lawrence of Hunger Games fame is going to adapt it for Netflix and I don't think that's gonna work out at all but he had a lot of style and atmosphere for his Constantine movie with Keanu so maybe.... Personally I think del Toro would've been absolutely perfect for Bioshock but that's as likely as Alfred Hitchcock directing a Daredevil movie
There's no way they wouldn't try and make it another soulless propaganda puff piece now I hope it stays shelved for a few years till all the crazy political shit chills out
i forgot they even planned to make a Bioshock movie, still waiting for the supposed game they claimed they were making, idk about a Netflix series, not watched any of them and don't care to, but still a fun video to watch
bioshock never really did it for me yeah i play it alot but i just dont agree with 0:11 and i didnt even play infinite but oof at what that game ended up being 2 is good.
Man, this videos are so amazing, it's quite odd to see someone with this passion for making videos, I hope you get this one to get better numbers, because it really deserves them
I don't know who you got to read Ken Levine's lines, but they're a shoo-in. I thought you got the man himself to read his own quotes.
really, that was all in the direction. the guy we got kept doing a boston accent for the lines? it was weird

@@LuckStat I would hope so. But there’s been very little done to keep the spirit of the franchise alive.
Awesome video, let’s hope the Netflix thing does well so they don’t cancel it after S2
Love bioshock? Read the damn book its so good
An excellent watch, cheers for making this!
I just found your vids, and after watching this, the LA Noir sequel and a couple others, I'm totally subbed

I'm so glad I've found this channel, great one!
Huh! Can't believe this was gonna be a thing :O

This video is almost a year old, and dude hasn't even broken a Thousand mark, wtf? Is the Algorithm sleeping or something?
3:20
I openly laughed out
Even now that seems impossible unless you're either Ridley Scott or Scorsese
Very nice vid. just have one quibble. Ghost Story Games is part of Take-Two Interactive which owns 2K. So they really haven't separated. sm
such a good video, wtf does it only have 6k views for
You’re tellin’ me!
But the ending I head of from the script was where Jack kills the little sisters and ends up rising up with splicers to take over the world

I think if they ever want to do Bioshock on tv they have to give something new I mean something in world of Bioshock and rapture but absolutely new that just couldn’t be shown in fps shooter yea I talk about city before collapse just imagine everything that we only heard in game shown in long tv series
You know all these stories that we heard in game but actually never seen
It’s just so big potential for series of random but connected episodes slowly coming to final in fall of Rapture

These videos are way too high quality for how many views you get. Keep up the good work man.
Very well made and interesting video. Subbed!

no, says the man who runs this channel, that was horrible
sounds like a electric hands mishap to me....
I don't think a bioshock movie would be a good idea I loved the series 2 was my favourite but it was a very niche market
I red the script and it works as a great adaptation until the ending but it I guess it works
bioshock never really did it for me
yeah i play it alot but i just dont agree with 0:11
and i didnt even play infinite but oof at what that game ended up being
2 is good.
the first Bioshock was excellent, the sequel was trash....sorry

Almost?

it'll make you *feel* like you're watching a boring MCU movie
