- With seats that fold into the floor, lots of available safety technology, and a design that doesn’t compromise, Chrysler offers a strong argument to reconsider the family van. Tom Voelk reviews the Chrysler Pacifica Limited model.
Hands down, this is the best Pacifica review out. Great work & editing.
Ill agree.
I'm 22 with no kids and I'm not married yet and I've always wanted a nice luxury type minivan SUV with seats that fold into the floor because that would be awesome for road trips!!!
OfficialMichellemarie 26 hey girl hey! That's why I'm here!!! 🤣😂
Man, Chrysler stepped up their game.

I adore my pacifica limited 2017 its by far exceeded my expectations. This car is the car of the century. Safety comfort and an awesome all around sporty utility vehicle. Im proud to be a owner of a excellent high profile american made car. Thankyou i ❤chrysler.
Lol ... Calm down Illinois Karen.
Wow seems like chrysler invented the segment and now has RE-invented it! Looks appealing!
You are awesome... one of the best reviewers ever. Just found your QX50 review and definitely watching all of them now.
Basically the only thing stopping you from living in this thing is not having a faucet, sink, stove shower and toilet.
"Fred, you are sleeping on the couch tonight"
"Nope Mary, I'll be sleeping in the van"
I purchased one two weeks ago. The day after we took it home we discovered the UConnect Theater didn't work. Every time we attempted to play a video, or play games on the 10" screens the whole system crashes. Since this was a big selling point for us I was extreme disappointed. More so disappointed that Chrysler quality control allowed this to leave their factory. I've now been waiting two weeks and still no fix. Overall I love the vehicle. I do have to question why the majority of the color schemes in these vans are an ivory white seats and light grey color flooring? Dark color leather is only available on the limited models. If these are kid haulers you would think darker colors would be more appropriate.
Let us all know how things get resolved with the entertainment system okay? And if it makes you feel any better, these things happen with other manufacturers. I get emails from people with issues from all brands (even the ones with quality reputations). But please let me know what happens. Never any fun to have your new toy not operate perfectly.
Driven Car Reviews Understandable, in any manufacture there is going to be a small percentage of problems. However I feel at the dealership/manufacture level they should be completing a full operational check of a vehicle before they attempt to sell it. Not doing so in my opinion means they careless when it comes to customer satisfaction and delivering the best possible product.
update?
The update is UConnect Theater does not work and hasn't worked since the day of purchase. I have owned the vehicle for almost 3 months now. I am told by Chrysler they are working on a software update that should fix the problem, I also understand that this problem is effecting everyone who has the UConnect Theater. Two weeks ago I called Chrysler and demanded more answers. They had none other then the update is coming out later this year and dealerships are instructed not to replace any hardware of the UConnect Theater until the update is complete. For my problems they offered me free lifetime Chrysler interior care package and the dent and paint package for free of charge. I pushed to get a free extended warranty but they wouldn't go that far....All that being said, I purchased the van for the UConnect theater so this is just crazy. I feel like I have been wronged. All the publicity around this vehicle and the UConnect Theater and they must have know there was an issue prior to release. I mean from what I understand they did 3.4 million miles of testing. Really, this issue wasn't known. I feel like they didn't want to delay release and pushed forward with a known issue. Its deceptive. They sold me a broken car. Now I have to wait 6 months for a fix? I am not recommending this vehicle. I should have went with a Sienna. I needed a car that works right off the lot as I routinely make 1.5K mile trips.

Oh. On the bright side its not just your minivan though..and you got something free out of it.
I love the interior. It's one of the most terrific van interior
just watched two of your reviews they are great I love the many views of the vehicle and that it's not a lot of you talking while standing next to it and the tons info given is a huge plus
Awd would be icing on the cake.
Great review. Just wanna say Tom has the best hair in the game!
I like it and the design is on point , you do very good and honest reviews that's very appreciated. Thanks!
Awesome awesome review! We love the Pacifica. Definitely looking into pushing aftermarket parts for it.
shout out to Tom's miata?
Ah, noticed the cameo, did you?
the marketing/commercials don't do this van justice. ...it's way nicer than I thought
Was this shot in vancouver bc? Well done review guys
I want to know too. Beautiful location
Wow. This van is just SO good! Take that, Honda Odyssey!
Just brought ours home yesterday. Love it!
Vince Caruso I am looking to buy one any issues w it !
I bought it and I have to say WOW!!!!
SBC Team no issues w it !!
Dat Astro though. A real van.
Well-thought-out Chrysler. It is very appealing for a van, kudos!👏 Hope it would be reliable in the long run FCA - you know what I mean.
Thanks Tom for another informative car review. Its been a while.
Last week I saw my first Pacifica ever, on the side of the freeway with the hazards flashing and a tow truck pulling up to it. I'm with you but that certainly wasn't a good first impression.
+Mr. Hand we owned a 2004 Chrysler van for about one year, terrible vehicle blew a head gasket numerous electronic gremlins. I'm not sure with Fiat taking over it's gotten much better
Hard to know without pulling over to ask what happened. Could have struck something, maybe a flat tire, perhaps ran out of gas. There are no known issues that I know of concerning quality issues but the vehicle is very new.
A week is a while? I post every week.
Driven Car Reviews It's just me Tom, I'm just eager to watch your reviews. Hope you could post some new videos twice or thrice a week though...
I can't believe they named it Pacifica! That nameplate wasn't made for a minivan, it was already taken by a Crossover. You know, FCA needs to come up with their own names, lol. It just bums me out, ok. Great minivan though, and a Huge improvement from the old Town & Country.
unfortunately fca do not sell the one that you test drove, 8 seats limited, make me no choice, just bought a L plus instead last week, love the van, very well thought vehicle, but dealer told me only covered 1 year bumper to bumper, anyone know why?
Did you bought of those toilet paper? Where do you keep all of those?
Are you going to do an owners review of the Cadillac ELR you said you had bought?
Those fold away seats are impressive
Is there a way to lock the knob for the transmission? I don't want to shift into reverse while trying to turn down the radio. Love Tom's reviews, always informative, without trying to "sell" the vehicles.
Just don't ever turn down the radio and you'll be fine. Seriously though, it can't be locked but it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for the info, keep up your fabulous reviews, love the TP measuring tool.
My 2017 200 has the same system and it will not shift on you a warning will come up thats all. Its a safety measure chrysler has thought of. You're good. You get use to it too
Always great reviews Tom, keep at it.
honestly minivans are the best at what they do. this one's nice
This is going to bring the minivan back into cool and must have. A ground breaking vehicle imo. Look for the other guys to get back in the minivan game again.
That didn't age well.
Hi tom I was wondering if sometime you could do a review of the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan! Thanks!
That's a good looking Van, looks like Chrysler has been looking at Japan and the Vans from there....
It’s 2022 and I’m considering buying this 2017 Pacifica
What do they call the interior/exterior color combination on your test vehicle? That's sharp! BMW use to call that type of color "Anthracite"
As far as I can tell it's deep mocha with granite crystal paintl, but this is a preproduction vehicle and did not come with a monroney window sticker.
+Driven Car Reviews Ah. Well if this is any indication if what a Chrysler 300C or 200C interior might become, things are looking up for the FCA. That and the Fiat 124 Spyder release...
yes it is called deep mocha and Pearl Black paint, I just got this one and love it!
We have this car and it’s so good , for me it’s the best family car and the limited trim that we have has really good looking pano roof
Can you do a review on the 2018 Sienna AWD?
And so far, if you want AWD in your minivan? The Toyota Sienna is the only game in town.
Is this truly the Limited version? I don't the see panoramic roofs... Or did they only appear with the 2017 version?
If I remember correctly, it was a preproduction vehicle that had an odd build of some sort.
Thanks!
The panoramic roof is standard option for the limited version however it could be removed when you choose the option, "8 passenger seat & 20" wheel group". This option is free and come with 20" rims, 245/50R20 all season tires, 8 passenger seating and locking lug nuts but removes the panoramic roof.
We've owned a minivan since my oldest child was 4. She's now 17 and we aren't getting rid of the van anytime soon. I'm sure there are case studies on the psychology of van=bad suv=good, but I'll never understand why those who don't tow and don't go more offroad than the dirt patch between the sidewalk and driveway insist on punishing themselves with an suv. To each their own I guess. Chrysler is finally back in the game with what appears to be this best in class offering. My 2013 Honda Odyssey will be jealous.
Great limited review. When's the full one? ; )
Great review Tom. Would you chose the Toyota Sienna or this?
Sorry, I don't do that. But I will tell you to look at both and decide which one works for you personally. I'd also check out the Kia Sedona and new Honda Odyssey that should be out in a couple months. Happy shopping!
I managed to bring the family to see a Pacifica on display at a Chrysler (or FCA) tent sale event. My wife and I are diehard SUV fans but not anymore. This vehicle is awesome especially the top-of-the-line version we tested.
2021 model is coming out soon, with all wheel drive!! Time for another review of the Pacifica!!
Whistler awaits your return! 👍🏻
Road trip!
independent fog lights?? wow thats nice to see..
Now only if there was rear fogs as well :)
Do one on the gtr and skyline pls
Great review, as usual.
Another very good vehicle review.
So is the dodge grand caravan going to look this way?? looks better and more spacious
I currently drive a 2009 dodge grand caravan for my job, it's a work van and it's incredibly small lol this looks more like the sienna and honda
+dygardion 91 the Grand Caravan and Town and Country are both discontinued. This van replaces them.
The grand caravan was still made
Great review as always!
is this rear wheel drive or front wheel drive??
Shahzad Kayani it's a minivan, what do you think? This isn't a sports sedan.
FWD, if you want RWD then you should check out Mercedes-Benz V-Klass
Tom... Well done, Sir!
Great Review as always
I love crossovers, I would drive it! Nice and comfortable around town and especially on road trips!
Looks decent but why no AWD!?
not needed
Tom, I'm hearing a rumor that the new Pacifica may have an AWD variant, but in later model years. It is to be determined. But Chrysler nailed it here.
Rumors are floating that the chassis could be in a crossover version of it... perhaps a new version of the Dodge Journey?
Remember, these are only rumors.
Yes, I think they said it was designed to have awd but it's not available yet. That will be awesome when it happens!
+danny kelly Hopefully, it'll be there for the '18 or '19 model year.
won't happen, not now 2018,2019
Wow. That's pretty nice!
I've seen a couple of these on the road already, but they were all rentals.
major problem with this is the 9 speed transmission around 80k miles you will have problems from the transmission shifting so much we should have less gears not more
All the mini vans look Identical
not all of them if you take a closer look
LOOKS NICE
2:14 nailed it 👍🤣🤣
you can turn on fog light while the DRLs are on!?!?!?! wow that you never see on domestic cars ..let along on any asian car companies..
now thats a nice touch
Great review
I would really rather have a Suburban
Pretty impressive.
I saw one door fell off the door rail.
A very interesting and intriguing vehicle. Unfortunately, Fiat Chrysler's reliability record is a deterrent. I suppose if one got a sweetheart purchase or lease deal it might be worth the risk. Consumer Reports data shows consumer satisfaction is excellent--which one would think would be lower if the quality were bad.
Beautiful
I curse these SOBs... I spent enough to buy several great cars keeping my Beloved's old Pacifica on the road, well past its sell by date, what a pile of crap, only to finally get her in an Odyssey about 2 years ago. NOW they come out with this.
Pretty awesome!
@4:05 Toilet paper
@ will now be remove
stow and go is great, but the cushions are thin and not solid.
It's a chrysler 200 limousine!
I like this, but at this price.
nice van is it me don't he kinda favor Harrison Ford lol
put some wood veneer on it and they'll sell like hot cakes
Fiat probably designed this car. And probably it will be available with diesel in europe after a while.
This is an all Chrysler design. It's the first one since the merger and this chassis will be the basis For the next 300.
The leather is cheap in this van
Not true, does have it too hahahah
What state and city is this shot in?
Seattle
@@DrivenCarReviews thank you!
