    FCA just keeps making brilliant products, probably the best stuff ever made since Chrysler has existed! top quality interiors, look at those folding seats, and a hybrid with the brilliant 3.6 and 9 speed auto, crossovers are cooler, but a lot smaller inside, stylish minivans for people with a few kids, I totally get it!

    Bring back the old 4x8 sheet of plywood test!

    • @hyperlogos
      @hyperlogos 8 років тому +4

      +thephranc They widened the interior by four inches vs. the outgoing van, while stretching the track only one inch. There is supposed to be room for a sheet of plywood now.

    • @thephranc
      @thephranc 8 років тому +3

      Martin Espinoza Supposed to fit but does it? Thats why they need to test!
      I kid, but when mini vans first came out it was a big selling point to be able to get a full sheet in one. I miss the old days of the crew loading stuff in.

    • @wiibaron
      @wiibaron 8 років тому

      +Martin Espinoza Not true. Old T&C=49 inches between wheelhouses. Pacifica=48.8 inches. Every minivan ChryCo made was wide enough for a sheet of 4X8 but had to hang out the back.

    • @hyperlogos
      @hyperlogos 8 років тому

      wiibaron hanging out the back is a non-starter... we have a normal length Astro which has the same problem, my F250 was running when we bought it so it was a non-issue. About to do a compression test on a 6.9 in a junkyard to check for a replacement block, but that's another story. if it doesn't fit inside, it doesn't fit

    • @wiibaron
      @wiibaron 8 років тому

      Martin Espinoza I'm pretty sure every long WB minivan Chrysler has made would be a inside the van 4X8 holder. On the floor or the folded seats. On purpose. Actually the hatch opening is 49 inches high for that purpose too.

      How about a station wagon?

    • @BestUsernameForMe
      @BestUsernameForMe 8 років тому +5

      Station wagons don't work if you have 4 or 5 kids. Even with 3, it is nice to avoid long trip squabbles by not putting three in the same row. Looked at a larger SUV and dreaded the thought of the nightmare every time we would park to not have the kids dent the adjacent parked cars. Sliding doors are a godsend. Power sliding doors cool off the car before you get to it.

    • @edrice2621
      @edrice2621 8 років тому

      +Zander Stardust There are wagons out there that have three row seating. Some recent and not so recent models include the Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable, Ford Flex, Mercedes E350, Buick Roadmaster and Olds Cutlass Ciera.
      Anyways, I see your point, especially about the sliding doors.

    • @jlcii
      @jlcii 7 років тому +1

      Ed Rice if you happen to have gotten a good one, consider yourself lucky, because these cars have not been known for great reliability or quality. I'm sure there are good ones out there, but generally speaking they have rings pretty low, and I doubt all those people are lying about that.

    Thanks for all the great info. I drove this last week and posted my own review on my channel. I'm a little disappointed to learn about all the problems people are having with the 2017. Lots of issues with the entertainment features and consumer reports says the expected longevity is not good. Despite that, I really love this minivan. The collapsible seats are super easy to use and the touch screen is gorgeous. Cheers!

    The 1 Pacifica, was a real shit mobile,stellantis creatively figured out how to kill 2 birds with one car, the new/ current Pacifica far more refined than the first one, and then took the Chrysler town and country mini vans to a whole higher level, it's the best mini van I've rode in, quite impressive.

    3:35 What's the point of a rotary gear shifter? Why do they have change for change's sake? With the regular automatic shifter you can move from Park to Drive without looking (push the button to move it out of P, then let go of the button and move straight down, when it stops you're in D), I guess taking eyes off the road is in vogue :)

    • @jasonkilley
      @jasonkilley 3 роки тому

      @@jasonkilley Ah, that's better, so it's just shifting out of P is different then, you don't need to push a button, only foot on the brakes is required right? 👍

  • @pizzasubs
    @pizzasubs 8 років тому +1

    Was just talking earlier about these minivans nowday like the Pacifica here that comes with a in-vehicle vacuum and I dont know if this van was like the Honda Model that also had one but, if you actually plan on using either the vacuum or the entertainment center like this one has for the headrests, you should almost ALWAYS keep the vehicle's Engine RUNNING while you use either one of them cause if you dont, the vehicle's battery will have a quite Short shelf life lets say, and thats probably one of the main drawbacks about having a vehicle with either a Headrest entertainment system, vacuum, or even a in-vehicle DVD player, short life on the battery unless you keep the engine going the whole time........well maybe back to the drawing board and maybe see if they could maybe put in a stronger battery with more lets say engine off power so you wouldnt have to worry about draining the battery if you go a little overboard on using the vacuum or the entertainment system......

    • @wiibaron
      @wiibaron 7 років тому +2

      You're kidding right? Using the vacuum for even 15 minutes every week isn't going to do anything negative to a battery's life. And who would sit in their minivan to watch a movie? You could surely do it as it is just speakers and small screens drawing power. You could run the radio for hours even on a 70's car in the park. The vac can ONLY be used with the engine off. Designed that way on purpose. In fact they give you an extra hose to vacuum out your other car in the driveway. On purpose. I guess if you turned on the headlights and vacuumed the whole time you watched a 4 hour movie while you had the wipers on you MIGHT have a LOW battery...

      +David Growden Crossovers still do not have the cargo capacity of a Minivan, I even manage to fill my parents Uplander except for 3 seats when me and friends go to cons. So no way a crossover would ever work for me

      +albert7139 This "road test" for Motorweek is known as a press launch. Motorweek had only a limited time of testing the vehicle because it was done in California unlike their Maryland headquarters. So they couldn't do the 0-60 times and 60-0 braking times weren't available.

    • @tenhundredkills
      @tenhundredkills 6 років тому
