- Professor Keith Walcott will present The Beginning of the Civil Rights Movement: Slavery and the Underground Railroad (Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass) to the Niagara Movement and the NAACP (W.E.B. DuBois)
A longtime resident of Plainfield, Professor Keith Walcott was born in the West Indian Island of Barbados and came to the United Sates 40 years ago. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in History from Rutgers University, and holds ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at UCNJ (formerly Union County College) specializing in African American History.
