They aren't aftermarket Porsches, because they start life as an Unmarked Chassis that was designed by Porsche, but assembled in house by RUF to their specs. They don't leave a Porsche factory after completion, they leave a RUF factory. Meanwhile a Shelby GT350 still has a Ford VIN, which is why I think it's dumb people act like they're an entirely different manufacturing process from the standard Mustang. They really aren't. They leave a FORD factory and are sold on FORD dealerships.

What a Supercar does is provide all of that, at once, out of the factory, with the prestige of that car's name AND usually with luxury. And then there's things like the Nissan GT-R R35, Apollo Intensia, Aston Martin Vulcan and McLaren Senna which take a much more track-focused approach. (And before anyone claims that the GT-R isn't a supercar because it's not "exotic", that's a completely subjective argument that cannot be quantified)

Not gonna lie, 1000HP cars are awesome...but they lose the practicality of a car. I personally want a car to be part of my life. If it consumes stupid amounts of gas, breaks down every week, and costs several thousands to build and upkeep, I'd take a bike instead. A bike can do under 10s on the drag strip, all while remaining a completely usable vehicle outside of racing. That's what defines a, "well-built" vehicle to me. Something more then a one trick pony.

I'm a car guy but I barely play racing games at all. Some NFS and GTAO races from time to time. I don't mind about a game being realistic because it's a exactly that, a VIDEOGAME lol the whole point it's actually to have fun.
I feel as if they can have fun with arcade racers but realistic simulators bring a skill gap into driving that makes the player learn to get better. You build skills and when you win a race it feels so rewarding. The skill gap in realistic simulators compared to arcade racers is just to big of a gap. One is strictly for fun, the other if fun too but you have to actually build skills. That's the challenge, and the reward is so good when that challenge has been met.

And some cars have actual performance mods. People who call these cars ricers are either too stubborn, or they really do hate these kinds of cars. I personally love the early 2000's era of tuners. *#2, They mock even the cleanest Honda Civics* - Let's say a mean car guy sees a Civic that has decent body-kit, a decent paint job, proper performance mods, and they'd still call it a ricer! They would also say it's slow and sucks. *#3, Supporting stereotypes (example: muscle cars are hard to drive)* - I personally hate stereotypes, because it makes you assume that's how that driver acts. Not to mention it's kinda prejudice if you think about it. Muscle cars are difficult to drive at high speeds, that's part of appeal of them. If your car is loaded with STM, TCS, AWD, etc., then driving fast is boring, because the car does everything for you. As a Civic owner, I have been a victim of #2 on multiple occasions. However, I am yet to see any sexism from the car community. Maybe it's just because I live in an extremely liberal state, but I have never heard anyone make fun of a car girl for being a car girl. Also, I actually laugh at those "offensive" memes. I laugh along with any joke about the Civic that isn't something stupid like "lol, ricer"
I have an unfortunate #7 to add to that, in my experience quite a few just also have no regard to the environment, and I don't mean like by not driving a Prius, but more like denying the fact decatting a daily driver puts more pollutants in the air and accelerating climate change. The first one actually makes sense in certain contexts. I own a corvette stingray Z51. While a stingray and Z06 are both basically the same car, the Z06 trim is pretty much a certifiable super car by most super car metrics out there. Same with the ZR1. So it makes sense to separate the super-charged vets as being their own class, depending on what the topic of conversation is.

Tbh a tuned car is only as fast as a supercar in a straight line, take it to a racetrack and unless the tuned car is stripped to the minimum and tuned with millimetrical precision there's no way it will be as fast as a LaFerrari, a P1, a 918 or a Huracan Performante.
That's my main complaint about these "tuner vs supercar" videos. They only show one aspect in which the tuner car is faster, and then act like the supercar is garbage with a sleek body
Exactly, a tuned car will NEVER have the aerodynamics of a supercar, the engineering of its systems, reliability or their smoothness. Even tho supercars arent exactly reliable, they can definitely hold their power while a tuned car with the same numbers will continuously break in a matter of days

Gallardos are not even that expensive for supercar standards anyway. I even saw some for like 50-60k. Probably crashed or driven hard. But still. Its v10 sound js amazing.

It's not a slow car though. Let's go to the christmas tree and see who wins. Unless you have a 5.0, or an LS, you cant really beat the ecoboost at that price. This is especially true if you got the performance pack EB, since it gets 3.55 rear gears instead of the 3.22s. I beat a 5.7 slow ass challenger the other day, and I've walked 3 STIs so far. I used to mock EBs, now I dont. The reality is, some people need to save money on insurance and on gas, so they get something like an ecoboost. While I do doubt my choice of car, I'll always be happier whenever I look at my bank account and it isnt zeroed out after the insurance payment. As a side note, you can get an EB to be faster than a stock 5.0 for around 2k, which would be easy to achieve after a few months of savings from the insurance being cheaper, gas being used less, and the fact that an EB is a cheaper car to buy.

Not gonna lie, 1000HP cars are awesome...but they lose the practicality of a car. I personally want a car to be part of my life. If it consumes stupid amounts of gas, breaks down every week, and costs several thousands to build and upkeep, I'd take a bike instead. A bike can do under 10s on the drag strip, all while remaining a completely usable vehicle outside of racing. That's what defines a, "well-built" vehicle to me. Something more then a one trick pony.

It's even funnier when it's the same driver for both cars. In all seriousness, for any racing, aside from skill a Driver's weight will also drastically affect a car's performance. You know how many obese people I see down here in GA who talk about spending $5K on carbon fiber just to lose 40lbs instead of losing 100lbs with a gym membership that's like $40 a month? They wonder why they lose to cars with much less power, but don't ever question that they're 500lbs and have a car that literally squats noticeably to one side and has a steering bias due to their weight. I feel so sorry for their driver's side suspension.

I'm a car guy but I barely play racing games at all. Some NFS and GTAO races from time to time. I don't mind about a game being realistic because it's a exactly that, a VIDEOGAME lol the whole point it's actually to have fun.
fr, people take themselves way too seriously and can't have fun with simple arcade games.
I feel as if they can have fun with arcade racers but realistic simulators bring a skill gap into driving that makes the player learn to get better. You build skills and when you win a race it feels so rewarding. The skill gap in realistic simulators compared to arcade racers is just to big of a gap. One is strictly for fun, the other if fun too but you have to actually build skills. That's the challenge, and the reward is so good when that challenge has been met.

*#1, They call every car with cool visual mods a ricer*
- Lots of (mean) car guys like to call any car that has any visual mods a ricer, mods like: underglow, decals, sound systems, big wings, etc. Remember, every car guy has their own taste for cosmetic mods. And some cars have actual performance mods. People who call these cars ricers are either too stubborn, or they really do hate these kinds of cars. I personally love the early 2000's era of tuners.
*#2, They mock even the cleanest Honda Civics*
- Let's say a mean car guy sees a Civic that has decent body-kit, a decent paint job, proper performance mods, and they'd still call it a ricer! They would also say it's slow and sucks.
*#3, Supporting stereotypes (example: muscle cars are hard to drive)*
- I personally hate stereotypes, because it makes you assume that's how that driver acts. Not to mention it's kinda prejudice if you think about it. And it also makes you think really hard about what car you should buy so you don't get mocked by that stereotype or crash into something.

Muscle cars are difficult to drive at high speeds, that's part of appeal of them. If your car is loaded with STM, TCS, AWD, etc., then driving fast is boring, because the car does everything for you. As a Civic owner, I have been a victim of #2 on multiple occasions. However, I am yet to see any sexism from the car community. Maybe it's just because I live in an extremely liberal state, but I have never heard anyone make fun of a car girl for being a car girl. Also, I actually laugh at those "offensive" memes. I laugh along with any joke about the Civic that isn't something stupid like "lol, ricer"
I have an unfortunate #7 to add to that, in my experience quite a few just also have no regard to the environment, and I don't mean like by not driving a Prius, but more like denying the fact decatting a daily driver puts more pollutants in the air and accelerating climate change. This is a point that only negatively affects everybody

The first one actually makes sense in certain contexts. I own a corvette stingray Z51. While a stingray and Z06 are both basically the same car, the Z06 trim is pretty much a certifiable super car by most super car metrics out there. Same with the ZR1. So it makes sense to separate the super-charged vets as being their own class, depending on what the topic of conversation is.

Tbh a tuned car is only as fast as a supercar in a straight line, take it to a racetrack and unless the tuned car is stripped to the minimum and tuned with millimetrical precision there's no way it will be as fast as a LaFerrari, a P1, a 918 or a Huracan Performante.
That's my main complaint about these "tuner vs supercar" videos. They only show one aspect in which the tuner car is faster, and then act like the supercar is garbage with a sleek body
Exactly, a tuned car will NEVER have the aerodynamics of a supercar, the engineering of its systems, reliability or their smoothness. Even tho supercars arent exactly reliable, they can definitely hold their power while a tuned car with the same numbers will continuously break in a matter of days
Tuning a car to be faster than what you mentioned is actually very easy. Tube chassis, engine, brakes, suspension etc. The hard part is affording it

It's not a slow car though. Let's go to the christmas tree and see who wins. Unless you have a 5.0, or an LS, you cant really beat the ecoboost at that price.
This is especially true if you got the performance pack EB, since it gets 3.55 rear gears instead of the 3.22s. I beat a 5.7 slow ass challenger the other day, and I've walked 3 STIs so far.
I used to mock EBs, now I dont. The reality is, some people need to save money on insurance and on gas, so they get something like an ecoboost. While I do doubt my choice of car, I'll always be happier whenever I look at my bank account and it isnt zeroed out after the insurance payment.
As a side note, you can get an EB to be faster than a stock 5.0 for around 2k, which would be easy to achieve after a few months of savings from the insurance being cheaper, gas being used less, and the fact that an EB is a cheaper car to buy.
