Car guy here, pretty good explanation, I like how you explain things as you go into these cars, and definitely not a bad video to suggest for people who is getting into cars. Or at least, for those who wants to engage in the modern car culture. There's one thing to note about the cars, and it's the car people. Lots of different kind to note, and depends on which one you talk to. Usually, there are 3: - The one who likes car by it's value (Usually discuss luxurious cars and car brands like Mercedes's Maybach, Rolls Royce, Lexus, etc.) - The one who likes car by its trend (One glance on social media, you'll know what I mean: Lamborghini, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Pagani; or if you dig further: Dodge Challenger, Toyota Supra, BMWs, the kind of cars that make them look like a car guy when they talk about it.) - The one who likes car for what it is. (Ranging from "I like a good-looking car" to "HOLY SHIT IS THAT A 2008 TOYOTA COROLLA????", likely nerds out about all the things in, out, and behind an automobile. The best kind of car guy to hang around with for hours, can make you appreciate a car regardless of its name or value.) And one last thing. Car media. Video, Video games, magazines, photos. It's another great gateway to introduce cars as well. You can recommend a lot of brands in each department of respective media. Old mags, old games can work just as well, like a document for respective era of cars and car culture as well.
Torque is how easy it is for your engine to turn the wheels, or how hard it is to stop them from turning. Horsepower is basically how fast the engine can make your car go but there is many variables that effect speed such as weight and gear ratios
About the whole horsepower is not equal to speed... Kinda wrong in the sense that HP does equal speed (top speed that is) ONLY IF the cars have the same aerodynamic drag. Weight also plays a very minor role as it only contributes to rolling resistance which is insignificant when compared to aero drag. In essence, you could have 2 cars with the same weight and the same HP but if one is shaped like a brick while the other is aerodynamically efficient, they will have quite different top speeds. As an example, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Lamborghini Aventador have roughly the same hp but while the hellcat manages 203mph (allegedly), the lambo manages 217
GT3RS is the lightest, still a lot of horse power but has tons of downforce and lots of aerodynamics parts. Downforce is the effect of air pushing the car down when it drives, allowing for better grip and handling.
I think this channel's gonna blow up
