Alanis was HUGE in the 90s. Whether you liked her or not, she was everywhere.
Jagged little pill was the best selling debut album by a female. She was more than everywhere. I always liked seeing her playing the Lord in Dogma.
Whoever didn’t like her, you’re silly!
This performance by Taylor Hawkins is what got my attention, admiration and respect. R.I.P.
Thank you Sass Jordan 🇨🇦 for recommending he tours with Alanis. 🇨🇦👍 RIP Taylor 💐🥁🥲
Looks just like the guy that couldn’t handle the puranga in Colombia. Rookie mistake.
Agree
@@Gogettor They mentioned every other substance except for Pablo's Puro, given it was Bogota... So sad, RIP T.
@@Vectormanic1 I don't know, I've been a fiend for quite a while and have seen my share of noobs pretending they can deal with la puranga. They failed. Rookies.
Alanis certainly got her 10,000 steps in on that song.
Should we recruit Alanis to join us for #FutureSteps next year?
She got 10,000 steps in forwards, but also 10,000 steps in backwards, for a grand total of 0.
@@vtrmcs meths
@@gregaroivanalininovich9019 LOL
She'll teach you all this, in 10,000 steps

Agree❤
THE perfect record, lyrics, drums, base, vocals, has everything at peak perfection
The crowd should be going mental for that song!
Imagine being 21 years old and suddenly becoming the biggest music star in the world, touring the world performing for crowds of 150,000 😮
She’s an industry plant. And it wasn’t sudden. She was in the music business for a decade before she got her development deal where they re-created her image, and she came out with this album so she was quite comfortable with performing.
Not to mention, she wasn’t quite the biggest star, but she was pretty popular for two summers
Imagine believing alanis morissette wasn't a label creation
^lol a label creation, what bullshit. has one of the top selling albums of all time with some of the most recognizable and relatable hits and is beloved across generations 30 years later.
God forbid we give a woman credit.
@@Eric_In_SF
And yet, she wrote every goddamn song on that album.
What's your biggest achievement, Eric?

Nothing beats a live performance when all that talent is up on stage.
Yeah it was a very raw era we were very fortunate felt free to express ourselves.
Came here as a fan of Taylor Hawkins (RIP) and left as a fan of Alanis as well!
I’m currently watching this masterpiece while eating a subway cookie in my room.peak of life
Rest in Peace Taylor, such a talent gone way too soon! 💔🕊
Best BREAKUP SONG EVERRRRR!🤘🏼
And you just knew that he( Taylor) was going to evolve in to one of the best drummer's in this rock and roll generation....
Awsome stuff
Easily one of the best, he’ll be missed man.
🖤
I was there, was an awesome day
So lucky!
Me too, it was!
@pretty girls in 1996? My god you must be young 😂😂😂
That's awesome to see everybody rocking out to our Ontario, Canada girl there! I wish I'd been there, too!
well of course it would be awesome, you saw Alanis Morissette live.
Alanis is absolutely phenomenal, you can hear her pain and resentment by how emotional she sings this and the lyrics, omg this is reality.
Not one close up on that bass player straight up slayin' it in this song!
Right!! He’s probably my favorite in their line up!
I was today years old when I found out that Flea played the bass in the recording.
@@lejames5987 seriously? damn
No Kidding, The guy is stomping on it and you never even see him! Piss poor production on the camera work!
@@lejames5987 Really?!? It doesnt sound like Flea.

Taylor Hawkins is on absolute FIRE here!!!! I really hope he tours the Jagged Little Pill anniversary tour with Alanis 😍
😍
That will be dope!
I think Taylor made a really good career decision. Love AM. Love foos more though!
👍🏼👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
i read he really wanted to get the old band back with alanis for 5 shows guess she wasn't that into it
96?
So long time.
I miss that era 90's
Alanís Morissette rules!
That voice so hauntingly beautiful.
Yeah, but there's vocal parts here where it's a total ripoff of Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries. Just remember Zombie was released before Jagged Little Pill/You Oughta Know. I thought that back then and I still think that. Not taking anything away from Alanis because she's incredibly talented. This was great for a live performance.
@@UA-cam.Algorithmic.F-ckery It's a vocal technique, not a rip off... are they ripping off the Beatles for using guitars!?
such a stage presence. really don't get how someone can be comfortable out there without a guitar as a safety blanket
I loved this drummer before I knew who he’d become 👌🏼
Yes the drummer for Foo Fighters. He is baddass! I watched a recording of this song that was made a couple of years ago and it sucked. Mainly because the drummer did a crappy version of the song and it sounded amateur.
I feel like we’re all hungering for this kind of talent again. God how the world and the human race is going so downhill.
original album version has dave navarro on guitar, flea on bass, and the drummer from the foo fighters. so dope.
Hawkins didn't play on the Jagged Little Pill album, Matt Laug (Slash's Snake Pit) did. Hawkins joined the band after the album came out, for the tour.
Chris Chaney does such a great job on that Flea bass line. I hate that they don't show him killing it on this vid.
Wow Chris Chaney on bass far out those three really do go back a long way
Definitely Flea was on the bass 🤟😎
I did not know that
saw Alanis at the bowl a couple of years ago.. undeniable presence.. front row.. you could hear her voice over the sound system.. marshall stack level mayhem from a raw human. absolutely awe inspiring. Cool to see/hear Taylor on this one. RIP.
I seen her last year, and she sounds JUST as wonderful as she did here. I could argue her voice has matured to an even more pleasent sound, but then I am just splitting hairs when it isn't necessary. lol But if anyone has thought about seeing her live, go do it. You won't be disapointed at all.
You know a song is dam good when even after all this time it still gives you goosebumps.
She’s like peal jam, sound garden, & chili peppers in one girl completely badass!
leave the chili peppers out they make terrible music
@@joshuafult84 LOL
@@joshuafult84 bass line was made by flea LOL jajajaja
@@nicolasrodriguez187 Yep it was hahahaha. I am not even the biggest RHCP fan but you gotta give credit where credit is due
@@joshuafult84 the recording of this song was with flea and navarro bffr
This is a really powerful live performance! Alanis is one of the last great rock artists to have come along before the music industry went downhill.
She's a hack with a weak band
Lol she is a poser. She was a pop singer at the start and contimued with her pop with her "pop rock" act. Shes annoying and cringy AF.
Rest easy Taylor! The early days of the greatest drummer of his generation 💔
I saw Alanis during her Jagged Little Pill tour in Atlanta in 1995. She was on fire!
lucky!!😢
Anytime I see a video or performance from the 90’s I’m transported back. What a great time for music and culture in general.
I agree; fortunate to be alive with these artists.
I wish I was there.
I was. Alanis was excellent, Dylan was meh, the Who were great and we fucked off early when Clapton was on.
That vibrato on «you» in the chorus «of the mess YOU left when you went away❤❤❤ it is sooooo GOOD❤❤❤
Gawd love him Taylor on the drums ❤️ Alanis flipping rocks love the 90s!!
pure talent, love this queen.. 70's 80' and 90's are the best eras of music
60s too!!
I sure miss that music.
All that movement and she still hits are her notes perfectly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wonder how many times she walked back and forth the stage. Awesome performance.
Taylor Hawkins, best man

Rip to taylor…he was a prodigy and lived up to it, real inspiration, real idol, I’m devastated…
Just wow!! Speechless! When i was a kid me and my brother always fight for the TV remote control..i'm just a kid and wants Cartoon,on the other side my brother was so inlove with Alanis everytime she is featured in MTV or he is waiting all day to see Alanis featured in MTV! Now i can feel him as a #1 fan! Wow she's really a Legend!
😁
Powerful isn't a strong enough word to describe this performance ...
Fucking banger! People slept on Alanis. Definitely should’ve! Plus Taylor Hawkins staying on beat in the beginning when she needed water. Hands down a top 10 song of the mid to late 90’s
Alanis, Taylor & the band kick ass.
Either acoustic or with her band, Alanis Rocks this song!
Feels like Alanis and the band were at the height of their powers at this time.
I loveeee this woman...the Best of the best
Man I miss all these cool gals in the 90s whom where loaded with talent and gave us all great music befor it finaly died with corporate garbage!!
Boo !!!! Sad to see you are not happy with life!!!
Alanis is back on tour, Garbage are back on tour, Skunk Anansie are back on tour, its not all bad :)
Well, then you might like Olivia Rodrigo's songs if you like this style.
I got goosebumps watching Taylor. RIP buddy...
Thank you for posting!
She kicks ASSSSS! One of my all time faves!!!
This is one of my favorite songs from Alanis Morrisett love her. Along with Taylor Hawkins as drummer.
Saw her live in Hawaii in 1995. Totally unbelievable!
If you want one of the best musical performances I’ve ever seen, go find yourself a DVD copy of the Live performance from the Feast on Scraps tour. Saw her in 3 different cities during that tour and it was spectacular.
The drummer is so good he should form his own band.
Freaking love it!
the drumming on this song is incredible
Great day of music and first time seeing Taylor live. Obviously didn't realise at the time what an influence he would become. Thanks for uploading. Great memories
Who remembers Alanis Morissette from you can’t do that on television?
Daaaah, I heard that. 😁
Miss your energy Taylor. Thanks for all the tunes, tones and inspiration.
love this song! wish I saw her in concert.she always puts every thing into her song.rip Taylor your a blessing in disguise.
Embraced her anger! Magnificent!

RIP Taylor. Thanks for all the memories and decades of amazing music. God Speed Brother.
This is pure gold. Just awesome awesomeness
Excelente cantora linda maravilhosa otimo show perfeito saudades desse tempo que não volta mais saudades
Awesome Band!
It's a damn shame the Bass player, who was throwing down HARD covering Flea's monster bass lines live was never shown. Respect.
Pardon my ignorance... did Flea record the bass tracks for this song? Or did you just mean that the bassist on this gig was laying it down that hard?
I'd look it up but I figure it would take some digging to actually figure out who the session players were on her album.
@@fleatactical7390 Yeah, Flea and Dave Navarro from RHCP played on that track.
@@waltercarol9714 Ahhhh, got it. Thanks.
So wait... is that Navarro on the guitar in this clip? I was trying to figure out why he looked familiar. I'll rewatch it in a second. It probably will make complete sense when I see him again. The purple pants are kind of a giveaway... LOL

RIP Taylor. You inspired me and countless others. Thank you.
This came from a time when the guys at my school frown upon female rockers, I love Alanis, Garbage, No Doubt and the others who represented women in rock.
