Same here. Never heard of him before I saw them both live around 1996. You could tell there was something special about him & how he kicked ass on the drums. That blonde hair & teeth shone like a light at the back of the stage. Might’ve been a slight man crush - no homo!
I was11 whenthis album came out and I really liked a lot of the singles they played. I qas jist getting into music like zeppelin, beatles, Marilyn Manson, etc. Radio ruined this album by playing all SIX of the singles, non-stop for 2 damn years! Its only been until now (literally 2 decades later) that i can listen and enjoy the songs without feeling like a used car saleman is gonna pop out from under bed and tell me Im pre approved! The only other album that I like that had as many successful commercial radio singles than Jagged Little Pill is Linkin Park's Meteora. I believe they had 5 singles from that album, but wikipedia only lists 4, but there was definitely an unofficial 5th single. Anyway, even if Alanis wasnt considered cool in my circle of punk, rock & metal friends, she wrote all her own songs, yes along with her producer but she didnt have a band and he was her writing partner, not a song writer! She also plays the guitar & harmonica and probably some piano, not sure. I guess she's a guilty music pleasure of kine along with Jewel & Matchbox 20 lmao I just wont wear any of their shirts to the next Slipknot concert I attend!
Can we all just appreciate how Alanis always surrounded herself with great musicians. This lineup is fire!🔥 Taylor Hawkins! Nick Lashley went to be a producer for a ton of artist and even played with Mick Jagger. Chris Chaney was in Jane’s Addiction and plays for AC/DC now. Jesse Tobias went on to play with Michelle Branch and has been we Morrissey for like 20 years. Whole band. AWESOME!
Remember seeing this lineup living in New Orleans right before she broke at a small club....Alannis came out with dyed pink hair and remember watching Taylor and thinking he looked just like Animal in the Muppets....killer show in front of 300 people....fast forward 6 months and she was the biggest thing in the world! 😳😳😳
jagged little pill tour and the album was one of the greatest rock n roll moments from the 90s imo ... such iconic sound that helped pave the way for other artists such as taylor hawkins as well as having already established artist perform such as flea from RCHP
RIP Taylor Hawkins...you will live on in my, heart. I love Alanis and anybody that got to play with her made it and will be remembered for a long time !
How lucky & blessed are we. That we have all these old clips of Taylor. Baby Hawk had bad hair but the power. Us Foo Family miss him so much. But these are good ❤
You gotta check out Taylor Hawkins & the Coattail Riders, Taylor’s project with this bassist (Chris Chaney) - their debut album is my fave. His bass lines are INSANE
The watermark is not a problem preventing you from enjoying this masterpiece. The authors of this video have the moral right to place a watermark. Because they have done a lot of work to improve the quality of this video. Also, you will not see this part, which includes a recording of Alanis performing "All I Really Want" during Pinkpop '96 festival, anywhere else but at the authors of this video.
I was born in '96, and this "older" stuff is my favourite. I hate pop... Rock is where it's at! Foos, Alanis, Led Zep, AC/DC, Black Sabbath (And solo Ozzy), list goes on!
Why: Please tell me why, there is no Eddie Vedder & Alanis Morissette Album? Thumbs up if you feel like I do and you think that this would harmonize soooo much. Yes it's 24 and I'm still here😊
I love Taylor Hawkins of course....but please consider that Alanis was 22 years old here. She is singing about things the other band mates couldn't have experienced....as a rape victim at 15 and exploited by older men there, after. She is really expressing a pain they cannot feel. I love Taylor and his drumming....but please shout out to Alanis, as he did.
Oh my gosh, I didn't know about this painful part of her life. She probably wouldn't have been the greatest poet and singer if there hadn't been a very painful part of her life. Alanis is my all time favorite singer and poet. And thank you, dude, for telling us about it. I love her even more now! ❤
This is the first song on my morning run playlist. Bring back the 90s!
I miss the 90's so much....
R I P Taylor Hawkins. A great drummer!
You do realize his spirit is more energetic than this? I'm outta breath!
🤘🌞🙏💛☯️🌞🤘
I so slept on him but I always wondered who that was playing because he was dope. RIP Taylor.
Awesome
Alanis is probably the most complete artist who can rock out, sing ballads and write songs with the most amazing of lyrics.
I feel so fortunate I got to see Taylor and Alanis during this era. Love Alanis, RIP Taylor ❤

Me too, saw em in NZ '96. I had no idea who Taylor was but was super impressed by him and found my eye drawn to him just as much as Alanis.
This song slaps so hard. It did in 95. In 2005. 2015. And it will in 2025, 2035 etc.
Jesus, Taylor plays with so much power.
That's why she was mad When Dave grohl snatched him up for foo fighters. Nobody was gonna be able to replace him And have the same energy
Totally. Both of them are/were forces of nature. Makes me proud to be Gen X.
That bassist is killing it also. Love to all. Love to Taylor!🌞🙏💛☯️🌞🤘
Word! He could adapt to any style of music with his musicianship.
The whole band was tight
Taylor so full of passion and fire, so inspiring. The band is all around pretty amazing. Love Alanis, of course!

Good for you Alanis for bringing Hawkins in and not having the threat of him taking over the show.
this is the best thing I have seen.
I love Alanis!!! best erformances with Taylor, they had an incredible chemistry.
She's such a unique talent.
That fill at 2:35 😢 Taylor was a beast in this era. So tasty, and that Slingerland is lush.
Can we all just appreciate how Alanis always surrounded herself with great musicians. This lineup is fire!🔥

Chris Chaney is Bad Ass!!!
You gotta check out Taylor Hawkins & the Coattail Riders, Taylor’s project with this bassist (Chris Chaney) - their debut album is my fave. His bass lines are INSANE
Screw him. TAYLOR HAWKINS
@@jamesheskey4797what? It ain't a competition mate
I am into astrology, my ex-wife was a Gemini: Alanis is the only Gemini woman in the world I do admire.
I must say Alanis is also passionate
Taylor Hawkins👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
🙏❤️
taylor singing thr song, priceless 3:29
Holy shit I remember all the talented musicians of the 80's and 90's. Now all's I hear is the crickets.
Real musicians are opposed by the industry today unfortunately
Goddamn this band kicks ass. That bass player is fantastic!
Vut this isn't a feat. Taylor Hawkins was the actual drummer for Alanis Morriset before he was the drummer for Foo Fighters.
Sass Jordan too !
Taylor Hawkins❤❤❤
RIP Taylor
Is there any chance you can post ‘Right Through You’ on here as well because that is the only song from this set that isn’t anywhere online!
R.I.P TAYLOR HAWKINS.....
Damm!¡!!!
I could live without the watermark the whole way through.

i herd this is the video that grohl watched before he asked him to join FF.
Watching Taylor playing like this makes me wonder how in hell couldn't he feel capable of playing with the Foos like the told Dave...
Brutal
Brand new drum heads on those bad boys
I was born in '96, and this "older" stuff is my favourite. I hate pop... Rock is where it's at!
Foos, Alanis, Led Zep, AC/DC, Black Sabbath (And solo Ozzy), list goes on!
Also Chris Chaney on Bess he became one of Taylor’s closest friends , And joined Janes Addiction after this
Fun Fact: the studio drummer for "You oughta know" isn't Taylor Hawkins, it's a guy named Matt Laug.
I laughed, so it’s a fun fact indeed 😅
Why: Please tell me why, there is no Eddie Vedder & Alanis Morissette Album? Thumbs up if you feel like I do and you think that this would harmonize soooo much. Yes it's 24 and I'm still here😊
Yess!!! They match energy so well!!!!
Best drummer so far. Yet I still like Keith Moon.
The 90’s last decade of decent music
Off by 20 years!!! but Good on Ya... Close.....
@@johnanderson8096 Nah he got it right.
