Glad someone actually does bios tours, very niche but very helpful. since the 4000 series apus were released, are they perfectly stable and compatible with this board? Like out of the box?

Any problem yet with this mobo?
I can't get into the BIOS for the life of me. My pc just skips the initial boot phase and goes straight to Windows. Fast start was enabled by default as this was my new pc build so I turned it off but I still can't get to it on start up. Even the UEFI firmware setting within Windows doesn't take me to the BIOS, I just get a black screen and have to restart my pc so I don't know what's going on.
go into windows and then reboot while holding the shift key and then the blue windows startup menu will appear then choose troubleshooting and then uefi bios

I bought this board and add a Ryzen 7 5700x, 16gb ram and a rtx 2060 but I have a problem: sometimes my screen shuts down and my PC keeps running, so I have to unplug it from the power and turn ion again. Do you know why that happens?
could be a number of things but i would look at the PSU voltages and VRM temps
wtf is wrong with MSI locking out PBO setttings on these boards and defaulting it to turned on, i just found some one who has edc bug that cause random reboots and the fix for it is bios flashback to agesa 1203c or 1203b or turn of PBO which probably easier but is locked out and turned on, why would MSI force you to void warranty on a cpu
never seen a board with a locked PBO, so can't really comment

I have a formatted Windows 10 USB and this motherboard. How would I go about installing windows onto my ssd through the usb?
Do I change the boot priority to the USB, install windows to my ssd, and then change the boot priority again?

Recently got this board with a 5800x ryzen 7 and 32gb 3600mhz ram. But I can't get the ram speed to run above 2666. Does anyone have any suggestions? :D

@@mikesunboxing yup, tried manual oc and got to stable 3200 but can't get 3600. Updated bios and watched 100 different videos but nothing seems to work to get to 3600 which the ram advertises. I feel hard done by because I could have just gotten 3200 memory cheaper 😅

But again because I have followed your advice so carefully & learnt so much, I come rushing back to you once again "Oh Meastro", as always with a new question, that I can't find the "Safe" answer to, so here goes Mike.
I have a Wifi game handset, (Unbranded the was advertised to work as a Playstation / Xbox for PC's),that worked in windows 10 Pro using "x360ce", but how do I use it with this WiFi motherboard?

okay the gaming controller would most likely have it's own dedicated receiver that works on the 2.4g wifi spectrum but not a true "WiFi" device as such. I could be wrong on this though without seeing it or knowing more about the product.
ryzen 5 5500G will be fine on the B550M board, but it would also be fine on an older B450 board as the 5500g is limited in PCIe bandwidth and lanes, if you are considering adding a GPU to it later.
the 5600 would be the better option for a processor or even a 3600 is the budget is tight

After a crunch down of my issue details, I hope my description will clear things up, as I think I gave confusing information, "to me also, reading it back" :)
MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI / AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
(BIOS), Settings\Boot
Fixed Boot Order Priorities Shows:
#1 UEFI HDD:Windows.
#2 UEFI USB HDD Disk.
#3 UEFI USB CD/DVD.
#4 UEFI USB Key.
#5 UEFI CD/DVD.
#6 UEFI USB Flopy.
#7 UEFI Network.
What I ask is why is not any SSD I connect, not showing on the Motherboards Bios, [emample: #8,#9,#10 etc], or this idea wrong!

MSI Mainboard Set up NVMe M.2 SSD BIOS Windows boot, it shows he has 12 items in the "Fixed Boot Order Priorities, how!"
Or is there another reason why any New SSD, I connect up is not working, or always sending me back to the BIOS, after connecting a new SSD.
I thought it was the older SDD's with the issue, so I took out both used SSD's and added a New 500GB SSD, and installed Win 11 Worked fine, untill I reconnected my older 500GB SSD as it sent me back to the Bios again, Arghhhh.
The images I sent to you shows, the two other SSD's in this panel of the Motherboard
ORTIAL SSD (SSD): 256GB - Windows11 HDD
SanDisk SDSSDH3500G (SSD): 500GB
I'm So Confused as The PC Boots and works great with the two older SSD's, (as above), I have connected, it can't be the SSD itself as I tried it with two New ones, and installed Win 11 Ok Worked fine to.
I don't get it as the Motherboard allows upto 4 Sata Drives + 2 M.2's

the first option UEFI HDD Windows covers all HDD SSD and m.2 installed in the pc. there is another section that you can then order those into the preferred sequence
I had something strange happen on my new MSI B550-A Pro when going through this BIOS, all I did was look around and then change system fan 2 to smart fan mode then exit - one of the changes listed was something inconspicuous sounding but was some EZ OC setting to be changed. Here I found when I rebooted back to BIOS my 5700g was now clocked at 4.6 Ghz from its base 3.8!! Some ez overclock setting I never touched was activated and I searched all over the settings finding no way to change it back. It wouldn't let me restore the stepping so I'm missing something.
Then without doing anything (that session I noticed the OC), for kicks I went to exit again and it wanted to change something else I didn't even look at!! (something like PSS?) Naughty.

My computer is downloading ridiculousy slow despite downloading 10x faster on a dif mobo any ideas of how to fix this? Also could a ssd not screwed in cause it to be slow because it’s no all the way in?

Mike, do you have any update for the revision of this MSI motherboard? On Amazon it costs $ 109.99, but within your comments I have read people who have not worked well for them. Your study was based on the Ryzen 3 3100 processor, I plan to put the Ryzen 5 5600G, but I have many doubts between this MSI card or the Gigabyte GIGABYTE B550M DS3H that for these days of November-2021 costs $ 89.99 without wifi. Thank you for your time, if you give me a guiding answer.

These Pro series boards from MSI are great value for its cost but it makes me wonder why oh why MSI opted for this slightly annoying greyscale looking BIOS scheme instead of standard red/black colorway found in MAG/MEG/MPG boards. I know for B350 and B450 boards they had to make BIOS simpler and more lite to make space for then new 3000 ryzen cpus due to BIOS chip limitation but this time around all B550 boards have 32MB chip and yet we get this nausea inducing looking BIOS eh.
I just bough this Mobo, it's my first time with an UEFI bios, and I'm using it along with a Ryzen 5 5600G, a SSD NVMe and a HDD. All of them are new and empty. But I'm having trouble with installing Windows O.S. I've tried so many times, using a SanDisk USB drive 32gb, I tried installing Windows 10 and Windows 11, and I failed everytime, the message says "An NTFS service is already loaded" and "Load failure [3]: Unsupported"
I can't find how to fix it. Can you help me please??!!

Whats the max ram speed for this board?
depends more on the processor and the amount of ram used but you should be able to get to 4400mhz with newer ryzen chips

Mike, I'm getting the MSI B560M PRO-VDH WiFi. I;m using an i3-10100 @ 3.60ghz with a gtx 1050 ti and I was wondering how I get wifi on the board. It comes with an antenna so do I plug it into a port on the motherboard or do I still need to download the LAN?
the antenna screws into the ports on the IO area where your usbs etc are

I just purchased this motherboard and paired it with ryzen 5 3600 and I just keep getting random reboots even after updating bios and changing power supply. I'm so frustrated. I read on reddit that changing motherboard solved the issue.
there are some reports of a batch issue with this board. I still use mine and it has been very good but i will keep an eye on it

a larger PSU just means it will deliver more power if needed, you don't need to lower or change anything, the motherboard will only ever draw what it needs

Hello, I have a question. I have a ram rated for 3600MHz, so I needed to go into the bios to get my rated speed. I set my A-XMP profile to disabled but set the DRAM frequency to DDR4 3600MHz and now it works fine and im getting my rated speed. But, should I enable one of the A-XMP profiles or is it fine on disabled? Thank you in advance:)
depends on the ram but if it seems to be working in an optimal way then i would be happy with that and leave it

@@mikesunboxing according to the specs, they are pretty much the same board with exception of wifi support. I wonder is there is any BIOS "downgrade", as the PRO DASH version which has an pre-UEFI looking BIOS. All them use identical PCB, which is shared with B550M Bazooka too.
Im having a problem were when i turn on my pc it goes straight to bios and doesnt let me leave i have a hdd for my boot device but it wont boot to windows was wondering if anyone can help
you might need to manually set the first boot device and maybe turn on CSM if you have it set to UEFI at the moment

I’m not entirely sure how to use the Wi-Fi on this. I don’t have an Ethernet cable so I can’t use that then download drivers. I tried using a usb stick but I don’t really know what I am doing. There also isn’t many tutorials out there. I would appreciate you help.

Any idea how to enable the "function key lock" in the bios? Using the FN key and the associated "padlock" key (the left "Windows" key) on my Havit Magic Eagle keyboard isn't doing anything, other than toggling a blue LED at the extreme top-right of the keyboard 😟
i don't recall seeing that sorry, and didn't known it was a thing. num lock i have seen before but not fn lock
@@mikesunboxing No worries, I've seen other's videos showing how to use the "Function Lock" feature (basically the same concept of NumLock), something I've never heard of in near-on 40 years of using computer keyboards. But it didn't work on my keyboard despite having a key (left Win) with a small "padlock" on it. Thanks to my 5 strokes I keep hitting Alt-F4 accidentally when using MSFS while in VR, so I want to disable Alt-F4 and locking the Fn key would do that, thus making Alt-F4 unavailable. For some mobos it is a feature in the BIOS but not in this B550M. I'll just have to super-glue F4 then! 😉

Make sure the amd chipset drivers are installed and the WiFi drivers from the msi website, or use msi center update to check all relevant drivers are installed

Hi there I just finished a 5600g build for my sibling, and I used this motherboard, everything is fine for the most part but when I try to enable my XMP profile (Corsair vengeance pro rgb) to the advertised 3600mhz and I save and reboot, it doesn’t seem to apply these settings in either the bios or the system, do you know any way around this?
try one stick on its own in slot 2 and try xmp then manually choose 3200mhz, then reboot and see if it works, try this with both sticks on their own to see if one has an issue. Sadly we hear a lot of problems with corsair RAM failing to XMP properly, it might even need a bios update, but try the simple stuff first

How do I set up a new NVMe M2 drive in my B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Motherboard, via the Bios?
This is my 1rst ever build, so I'm a wee bit nervous of entering the Bios let alone changing boot orders.
At this moment I have Windows11 installed on my 256GB 6GB SATA drive, but I'm understanding I need to have a large 500GB or a 1TByte NVMe M2 drive.
But it's the bios setting up so that it will auto load my OS from this drive, can you help me please?
If it is for the first build just install the drive on its own and don’t install or connect any other drives and it will default to the new one. But if you need more detailed information join the discord

I paired with Ryzen 5 5600G, PSU: Corsair 650, RAM: Hyper X Fury 3200mhz. (Bios already updated when bought). It always reboot itself. One time I was able to install Windows, then auto-reboot again. Most of the time, it rebooted before or during windows login. Can't even stay long enough at the bios to make any change, as suggested by some to increase RAM clock speed (from default speed of 2400 mhz). When I search for this problem online, I found out that this issue is quite common among this particular motherboard. Is there any way to fix the problem?
not that i am aware of sorry, i would maybe install another slightly older / newer bios and see if that helps

@@mikesunboxing But the problem is, it randomly reboot itself. I can't even increase RAM clock speed as suggested by some people, it always restarted before I finished. I don't think I will be able to update the bios. I bought it from Amazon, I asked for a refund to buy another mobo. But it's not allowed, the only option is to exchange it with the similar product. New one is on its way, hope it works well.

Is this compatible with the 5600G? I saw it doesn’t support 3400g, 3200g and 4000 series. Wanted to double check before committing to this board.

the memory speed is dependant on the processor primarily so you need to tell me what CPU you are using, also some brands XMP settings aren't always going to work out the box, so you might need to manually add the XMP data into the BIOS

I have a msi pro b550m motherboard and when I try install windows I get a winfsf.sys error. What do I do?
most likely the USB drive, but also try using the USB ports on the rear of the motherboard if you can, front panel ones can also cause errors in data read writes

I'm not a native speaker, so maybe I didn't understand all about this mobo. I want to use it's wifi and already installed the antennas, but when I turn on the pc there's no option to enable wifi. I have to do something in the BIOS?

@@Urbexsiarze_Warszawa yeah, you have to install the wifi and bluetooth drivers with a pen-drive, and then it will work (at least for me)

But after my bios update is complete by using the method you did the cpu ez debug light is on. May I ask what happened? I switched it off and turned on with component connected then the DRAM debug light is on . Any ideas what going on? Thanks!
the DRAM light means the ram is faulty or in the wrong slots
Brand new ddr4 ram 16gb, not sure why, does this faulty ram can cause no display on monitor?

Hey are these settings optimised, I have this mobo but I seem to have high input delay. If I were to just copy your settings will I see lower input lag results. If not then do you know how I can optimise this for lower input lag? Thanks
is the input delay in windows or the bios?
@@mikesunboxingnow I think about it, i seem to get input lag in both windows and my bios. I’ve checked my monitor and peripherals and I’ve ruled out them so it must be my pc ☹️

For me i can't access my BIOS with my HDMI cable,
CPU: i9 11900F
yeah i had that with an older TV the signal wasn't compatible until it was on the user screen for the password

Hi Mike, i have been trying so hard to do as you tell me, but i just don't get what you tell me, "When adding an additional drive to the computer, you need to tell the BIOS that you are doing this, by changing the system boot order."

So what I am doing is, put in the 2nd SSD then switch on my PC, so it goes to the Bios as you said, but I guess I'm to afraid to cause myself a total corruption, by playing a guessing game...but I have managed to "Enable Hot Plug Sata Ports 1,2,3,4."

I am having trouble while installing Windows 11 in my PC It Shows Reboot and Select proper boot device
make sure UEFI is selected in the BIOS and secure boot aand TPM enabled

I'm running on a single ram 2666mhz. Is the board overclocking the cpu itself? I did not touch anything on the bios.

Why is my DDR speed at 26666mhz but i bought then with 3600mhz
you need to enable xmp in the bios it was shown early on in the video
