- Use of the Porter Cable Palm Nailer in conjunction with a 6 gallon pancake compressor. Nailer jammed once with a small 1" brad nail, beware of use with small nail heads.

I agree he was using it poorly, but I also own this palm nailer and can say it's an absolute piece of shit. Despite using the properly sized nails, lubricating it regularly, whilst in the middle of my deck project I constantly had to bang the back of it because the actuator got stuck. I stopped using it and bought even a Ridgid. The Ridgid is a complete dream compared to this one. I would have had the deck completed already if I didn't waste so much time dicking around with this piece of garbage. The Ridgid also has a higher pressure tolerance so I didn't have to keep resetting the regulator when switching between my nail gun and this. That's what I get for trying to save $20!
Yep. The actuator on mine was stuck right out of the package. I thought the same thing too as I was driving to HD to buy the Ridgid....thats what I get for trying to save 20 bucks.
Palm Nailers are made for use with common nails only Brad nails are to small
No one in their right mind would use a palm nailer for such little nails.
A super lazy person would.!!!
Perfect Video how not to use tool
It worked well for me nailing 1" 1/2 tecos in all day. Reliable for what it's meant to do. It fits in my pouch for use in those areas hard to reach with the nail gun
The tool is a really good tool just because you don’t know how to use it don’t blame it on the tool You don’t know what you’re doing or what you’re talking about
The tool is mostly used for nailing joist hangers and hurricane clips. Tight spots obviously, where it is difficult to manuever a hammer. Plus, try holding it plumb to the nail and it'll work wonders.
Did you read the manuals?
Im pretty sure this tools is used to drive small tico or joist hanger nails in tight spaces. I dont think it a replacement for a framing nailer or for every nailing application. Just a thought.
Reading many of the comments sounds like many are using it for the every single nail they are driving....if you used it only for hard to reach areas where you cant swing a hammer or fit a framing nailer i am sure it would do a much better job. If it was meant to drive every single nail on your framing project, this little tool would reflect that in its cost.
works great for metal hangers and teco nails
Try a 16D, my Bostitch will drive those all day. Caution, these are susceptible to dirt, don't just toss it in your work bucket when not in use. I did that and mine stopped working smoothly. Took it apart and cleaned it, didn't change any o-rings, back to working well.
THE DIRECTION CLEARLY STATE 1-1/4" IS THE MIN NAIL
from Porter Cables web
"Multi-blow function can drive any length of "framing or metal connecting nail" "
James Shamburger
Not brad nails, though.
hahahaha....
WOW!!! just wow.. lol
All palm nailers will pull the nail to the side, its the lines of flux from the magnet, the flux wants to travel thru metal than air, that's why its pulls to the side as the metal is "magnetized" by the magnet. Unless someone makes the piece surrounding the nail out of aluminum, which will bend, all palm nailers will due this. Braid nails are not for palm nailers as many noted, its rather silly using a pneumatic device on a 5/8ths or 3/4 braid that you can easily tap in faster with a tiny hammer.
hehehe. Nice job...
oh well
lmao!!! 6:08
😅
yes, this must be a joke.
Junk?
better than buying a 150 dollar nail gun
It seems as though, without a trigger, you lose a lot of control. Bending nails is a disaster when doing fine woodworking projects. Probably good ONLY for hard to reach places???
... or rough construction, e.g. framing.
That's literally the only application a palm nailer was made for. Can't swing a hammer, but need precision a nail gun can't provide. Fine woodworking is absolutely out of the picture. It will destroy your piece.
This product works fine for "finish" work if you know how to actually use the tool. ...just sayin
RTFM!!!
Don't quit your day job.
just get a dewalt nail gun and youll drive nail for decades
Whole point of a palm nailer is to nail places where a hammer and gun can't fit, or doesn't apply. Try using your DeWalt to nail in joist hangers 12 on center. Oh yeah, you can't
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
First time using it and he already has problems. Pass. I almsot got it right now. Thanks for the review
