In this video we review the Harbor Freight Air Palm Nailer. In case you don't know what an air palm nailer is, watch the video to find out. It is a inexpensive and convenient tool to have on hand if you do a lot of framing, decking or carpentry work. It's the air nailer every man can afford.
they only had a=the mini palm nailer.
Bro!!!!! you really save me sooooooo much money I am glad you uploaded this video. I am starting to get into wood fence within the budget. Nail guns are expensive AF.
I am a bit late, just got mine today on clearance for $22. Tried it out as soon as I got home, a bit wobbly driving but that will be fixed overtime with use getting used to it. Great review! BIG THANKS!
Not saying it doesn't work, but the hollow space makes it less impressive. Do the demo in a solid piece of southern yellow pine or pressure treated.
These are really great in tight places. I built a deck framing using one of these. Really saved my knuckles.
i am glad i atumbled to your vidoes... great job! thanks!
"The instructions are basically safety stuff...that we won't worry about..." - That's the way we do things!!
🤣 🤣
They still have the 20% coupons. Used it yesterday for the banks framing nailer.
Thanks for all info v helpful
I plan to buy one as I am pretty bad with hammer. Either the nail bent or OUCH, my fingers got smashed.
I like this!
Good buy👍
I'm tempted but you performed a bit of a magic trick. That was very soft deco wood. Use a standard 2x4 and I bet you bend some of those 2" nails. Like I said I'm tempted and I do buy alot of HF tools. Love their 12v & 18v drills. I wire them to a long cord and attach to a deep cycle battery, not as portable but alot better than the battery they give you.
UPDATE: broke down & bought the HF nailer. Advertised on their web page for $16 & $29 (couldnt find the distinction between the two) but at the store it was $29. With coupon $24. At other stores brands were going for $35 (out of stock have to order) & $49. I was willing to pay the $35 but lucky it was out of stock. This HF nailer is doing great. Over 300 nails & going strong. Directions were terrible. I didnt know where to oil it so put a few drops in every hole. & oil it a couple times during use. It does have a learning curve and did bend a few nails. Magnet tends to pull the nail to the outside increasing chances of bent nails. But holding the nail traditionally, & a little finesse I'm driving like a pro. A little more finesse and I can get it to do one, two or more hits. Wear gloves because the oil tends to blow out of the air release valve.
Limited space on my workbench, but I have used this to drive 3" nails into 2x4 and it works fine. Since it acts like a jackhammer, it doesn't bend the nails.
Did you use on hardwood? Interested in one of this but I dont know if it will drive 3 1/2 nails into hardwood board and 2x4
Hard wood is always difficult to nail. I got to drill small hole first before driving nails in it or just use screws that are easier to remove when needed.
Can they be used on smaller nails.
Any size nails will work. It has a magnet to hold the nails.
Would that drive in a bent nail?
It will only bend it further and mash it down. You would need to straighten it first.
Would this work for installation of vinyl siding?
It should work fine. It holds all types of nails so I don't see any problem.
@@ModernDIYProjects I literally just came back to tell you thanks for your review and your response, I work doing siding and this helped instal the vinyl 2x faster, specially around small areas where the hammer doesn't fit, and it helps me a lot since the use of hammer hurts my hands a lot (I suffer of rheumatoid arthritis) that is man I hope other people see this and take your review into consideration
Never used one them. Seen them and knew how they worked. Just never tried 1

surely dont think the 20% off is going anywhere lmao thats pretty much their motto !
I have been shopping at HF for over 10 years, and there are so many changes taking place now that nothing would surprise me.
@@ModernDIYProjects except the 20% off lmao
