Had a maxed out tank with 75 att/str 99 range 99 def 92 prayer for ss. The staking thing really fucked with me. I would make BILLIONS, and still never really be satisfied. I loved being rich, because of the attention it brought, but I saw how it was ruining peoples lives. I beat chessy018, and win all day, for billions. And they beat me for billions. I was even in one of win all days staking vids losing a green phat to him. It was fun, but it also kind of ruined the game that I loved, after making 2b at the duel arena, getting a 5-10m pk meant nothing to me. I had like 200 pk sets in my bank, so it didn't even matter if I died. I would die pking, and lose 10m. And then I would go to the arena and do a 20m stake to recoup some of the cash I lost, and I would lose the 20m stake, causing me to do a 50m stake, and then I would lose the 50m, and then do a 100m stake to gain back the money I lost, and that slowly turns into you getting cleaned. I would lose the 100m stake and then id do a 200m stake, id lose that and do a 500m stake ect ect. And eventually I would be cleaned. And I cleaned people for billions, so it happened to everyone. Its very hard to restrain yourself. Just like the casino. Kinda crazy really. Just wanted to give my personal story. And I have screenshots of me winning bills if people dont believe me. Overall, I think the duel arena really ruins the amazingness of runescape.
This is why I stay away from places like this. I can earn people's trust with them knowing I'm not an addict. The ability to borrow a twisted bow from a friend and be able to give it back without the thought of selling and gambling it away is so much more powerful than the addiction it's self. Though, I know the dependency can make people think differently.
I don't ever have a problem with gambling, I bought lotto tickets for a whole month and never won. I don't believe in gambling anymore, only investing.
I've been staking since RuneScape classic and now I live under a bridge near NYC. The only thing that could quench my staking thirst was heroin. I have to go to the library to use the internet because I have nothing now. (Satire)
Thank you for taking this seriously. Things like this can still be damaging and hard to get out of for people even if it's easy for someone else to walk away.
I honestly can not fathom how people get addicted to gambling, especially in runescape. There is no gambling in runescape, it's scam or be scammed. So I guess in a way, it creates addictions to gambling because that's all it is irl too, being scammed. You never win unless you are allowed to win, only weak people get addicted to being abused.
The problem with staking is that people get greedy and don't walk so many people make a few bills and instead of just walking they get greedy and end up losing it all.
My brother lead into a fully fledged gambling addiction that almost destroyed his and his families life. I'm sure it all started because he would stake all day every day as a child. He agrees too.
Ash's face when they talk about duel arena. Wonder how many documents he was forced to sign about things tbey cannot talk about. I think he's mind at that time in the video is raaaambling :) thx for the video! Hope they all recover. Bless
It's actually easy to avoid if you only go in with what you're willing to lose, so you never walk away mad. I feel like anger of losing keeps bringing people back more than greed
this video highlights the underlying issue - the addiction to gambling. no one is going in ready to lose everything, just like no one smokes their first cigarette planning on ruining their health. its the addiction that leads to the further issue. suggesting "its easy to avoid" isnt true
Daily I consider chucking my 350m bank in one duel but I never do, that's months of my life I'd be gambling... but damn the idea of doubling it on the spot? I can see how it could happen.
In 2012 I had white phat and 2 max cash stacks. In 1 day I lost the equivilant of £2500, which at that time was 5b over the course of an 11 loss streak. On the flipside I turned 5m into max cash in 1 session (about 5 hours long) and bought back the white phat, full torva and divine spirit shield. Winning was awesome...losing made me volatile and I never let staking get into the real world with gambling. I was one of the lucky ones.
when i was 15, i bought 30m for a few dollars (there was no osrs at the time) that same day i turned it into 1.1b from betting on the flower game poker. sold it the same day for $880. 1 week before christmas. it was a christmas to remember.
As somebody that dealt with a pretty hefty drug addiction that started as one thing and swayed to another over the course of 8 years, I was sad, but not surprised to see that message about Adam at the very end. I couldn't tell you how many times I have heard somebody with an issue of some kind say "Oh, that was in the past, NOWADAYS I only ever go there/do X activity to screw around and have fun." Ah, so you go there regularly, are only doing a small margin better, yet are still staking.
the fee the game charges for stakes is equivalent to the house edge irl, it's the reason why the long term average of people lose and it's the reason why should you expect to lose not break even, albeit the average loss isn't huge but the point is that the odds are against you. People think it's a gold sink which may be it's original purpose, but as long as it's in the game it has the effect as a "house edge"
I made 4b on a huge 10 winning streak. I wanted more I kept saying if I win this stake I am walking for good. Seeing 1b cash pile in my bank kept sending me back because I was bored. I wanted to feel that thrill of winning... I ended up losing it all of a massive losing streak. My bank is 600k now. Even now my rng is home. I swear once you win big you're rng goes bad and it's never the same. I think I have beaten my staking addiction. I want to enjoy the game again and get excited off a 5m drop..all that went once staking started..
Great video I stopped playing RuneScape because my duel arena addiction got really bad. I staked 500mil. I asked jagex to add something to block me from the duel arena. So I couldn’t go there. They didn’t so I got myself banned for botting. I self banned my almost maxed account because I was sick of gambling and I didn’t want it to happen in my real life. Amazing video. Don’t go to the sand casino kids. It’s never 50/50
I always played RS as an “Average” player. 99 combats and average stats elsewhere, my bank had never been huge, most I had was around 130m at any point in my 13 years playing. Then I found staking, I turned 5m into 50m, Lost it. Went back with 10m, lost it. Went back with my bank around 80M, won, basically over the period of days last year I went from nothing to having over 1.3B, it wasn’t enough and I couldn’t resist staking, telling myself a little 5m or 10m and I’ll leave if I lose. So in the end I chased my losses and sat at 1.1B which due to my personality, didn’t satisfy me. So I staked it and lost the lot. Take note, don’t stake if you have an addictive personality IRL.

I remember back around 06 I decided to go to the duel arena before middle school started and I staked my whip and lost. Never stepped foot there ever again
And this is why i dont have sympathy for people getting addicted to staking. Just use common sense and teleport out if u lose its not that hard. You did it the right way. You lose some? Tele out, stake another day. You win some? Tele out and enjoy your wealth. Stake another day. Easy as that
I have no idea what staking is and I’ve been playing RuneScape for years. I just spend my time fishing, levelling my combat skills, doing clue scrolls, or doing quests. I often wonder how people can ever get the money to afford those nice items. I guess this explains it.
I got a 9b refund from being hacked by mod jed took the 9b into 30b and sold 1-5b per day but got banned soon after on a neat maxed account, pets and roughly 20b of wealth
Was addicted to skin gambling in CS. I’m glad that isn’t a big thing anymore. Was nice getting from 50 to 300 but I lost everything because I was a greedy fuck. That was when I was 15/16 or so. Told me a lesson. 2015 was a great time haha
I have never staked in my life but untradeble twisted bow sounds really good in my ears. Having an item like the twisted bow in my bank makes me super nervous what if i get hacked. Giving players the option to bind it to there account to me sounds perfect.
Went through this with CS:GO.. Skin gambling years ago when it was massive. Staked my $400 knife I bought myself when I was drunk and won $4400 in skins.. From there I lost that all, spent my savings on more skins to gamble, and ended up spending over $14,000 dollars of my own cash over the course of a year or so. That's not even including all the money I have "played through".. Over 100's of thousands of dollars.. Addiction to gambling is awful.
I don't play Runescape anymore but don't they take a 1% rake after each duel? So if the odds are 50/50, you are still losing .05% of your own money each time, which actually puts you at less than 50%. Obviously not much less but still less, specially when you think of longevity.
@@omahajoe5421 BRUH.... If the odds are 50/50, but Jagex takes .005% of your money as "tax", then the odds are shaved and it is not exactly 50/50. For example, let's say you have 50 million GP and you decided to do 100 stakes of 1 million GP each stake. If the odds are 50/50, then theoretically after 100 stakes, you should end up with what you started with, 50 million GP... WRONG, there is a "tax" that Jagex takes (1% of the total pot), so theoretically you actually end up with 49.5 million GP if you take the "tax" into consideration. So if you stake long term, odds are against you all thanks to the "tax". Casinos do this all the time, it's how the house makes their $ in certain games... Pay attention in math class lol
@@DJayAce4 you are still so incorrect. Paying a tax has absolutely nothing to do with the 50/50 chances of winning. You think you're so smart rn but you legit have no idea what you are talking about LMFAO.
@@omahajoe5421 Man, it's crazy the more stupid someone is the smarter they think they are lol. The irony. My point is that if you look at the chance of winning gold after a fight, the 50/50 odds after 100 stakes, (the example I used) it is NOT 50/50 when you take TAX into consideration. I'm talking about the OUTCOME of someone who is BETTING at the duel arena, it is not a 50/50 ratio. You have your mind fixated on the right. I clearly said you are losing .005% of your money each time, so the profit ration is not 50/50. I even gave an example and you still don't understand what I'm talking about. Stop worrying about the odds of the fight and focus on my actual POINT. You are truly an idiot lol
Duel arena is weird. I was on a winning streak for like a month , only a few stakes a day. But never lost more than 1 out of 4 stakes or so each day. And doing 10-50m stakes it added up. I lost 8 IN A FUCKING ROW the other day. Completely cleaned after being the richest I'd ever been. Gotta Love RuneScape.
2 years ago (2018) I decided to start off staking 1m. Then occasionally double up if I lost. Made my way up to 100m.... then I lost 6 1m stakes in a row, decided to start doubling up to make my money back ( i had a decent stack and thought I cant possible lose every stake....), 12m, 24m etc. I ended up losing 15 stakes in a row losing my whole bank around 900m.. ended up quitting for 2 years, just started playing again... wish I never went near that money trap and this video came out before I did 😭
2 days ago i had 76m... profited 190m in the last 48 hours from staking alone... im happy with it.... also i have been cleaned about a dozen times and i rebuild every time. I love the game, staking, pvp, pvm, being rich, and rebuilding from being poor. The dream shall be mine one day. I will keep rebuilding then chucking until i am finally a billionaire... luck has got to be on my side eventually.
Jesus christ, the way he talks about how people got introduced and then quit stalking sounds like a documentary about heroin addiction or something like that.
Smart people say that you should double your stake after each loss so you can eventually make it all back. Whether this "eventually" happens before losing everything is something worth debating...
That would be the Martingale strategy and at some point was very common in roulette.. I don't believe in it but you can for sure see a significant difference if you start off your session with a lot of money. Tested it myself a few times for the fun of it and yeah it seems to work for "a while" lol

Overall, I think the duel arena really ruins the amazingness of runescape.
Ive never in the history of me playing runescape for 14 years been banned for buying runescape gold
I once lost over 2 dollars playing a card game, that was all it took to not gamble ever
I don't ever have a problem with gambling, I bought lotto tickets for a whole month and never won. I don't believe in gambling anymore, only investing.
Agree, GP is great investment right now lol
I can't take this video serious with the dramatic music It's making me laugh.
For reals!
I staked my £80m from the ESPN deal on 07 lost it all in 2days gunna chop my head off rn
U will get it back hustle hard 🗣
I honestly can not fathom how people get addicted to gambling, especially in runescape. There is no gambling in runescape, it's scam or be scammed. So I guess in a way, it creates addictions to gambling because that's all it is irl too, being scammed. You never win unless you are allowed to win, only weak people get addicted to being abused.
I lost 4.17b in 10 minutes at the casino... now im a 10 hp hardcore ironman and this is making me enjoy the game much more...
I love how you made is so serious, it is after all an online game. Lol.
Online game with real live addictions so it being an online game is pretty irrelevant
That’s true but this currency has value.
The problem with staking is that people get greedy and don't walk so many people make a few bills and instead of just walking they get greedy and end up losing it all.
got up to 5b from 300m and was gna walk away but started staking again and lost it all LOL
If someone like Sparc Mac sells their current bank, that's a Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster!
You would have to be lucky as to not get banned after the first few billions.
a bond being 2m? I miss it lmao
Bless
I lost 22b in a few stakes last year. 200m start, took 12ish hours to do
Thats like $22.000
I know this is a reupload but the video is still extremely impressive, please take a break you really need it ❤️
I remember the days when duel arena was alive and well.. its now a shell of what it once was
It's actually easy to avoid if you only go in with what you're willing to lose, so you never walk away mad. I feel like anger of losing keeps bringing people back more than greed
Yeah im trying to learn flipping items (im bad so it’s basically gambling) and i risk what I’m willing to lose which is about 1-2mil
this video highlights the underlying issue - the addiction to gambling. no one is going in ready to lose everything, just like no one smokes their first cigarette planning on ruining their health. its the addiction that leads to the further issue. suggesting "its easy to avoid" isnt true
Daily I consider chucking my 350m bank in one duel but I never do, that's months of my life I'd be gambling... but damn the idea of doubling it on the spot? I can see how it could happen.
Just do it brethren
Your new Boyfriend shut up dumb fk

Never me getting a RuneScape rmt ad on UA-cam for a video about gambling addiction
You deserve more subs buddy
very solid vid
Clicked the video to give a view strictly because of how fucking hilarious the title was
this is a real thing, iv lost around 4-5k usd to staking
Wow, crazy
Dumbass imagine buying gp
Jam nop, buying it is way more pathetic
Jam i bought like 2B the past 15 years and sold over 100b the past 15 years.
U G osrs then youre inbred like any 1 whi buys or sell, the gane aint that deep
In 2012 I had white phat and 2 max cash stacks. In 1 day I lost the equivilant of £2500, which at that time was 5b over the course of an 11 loss streak.
On the flipside I turned 5m into max cash in 1 session (about 5 hours long) and bought back the white phat, full torva and divine spirit shield.
Winning was awesome...losing made me volatile and I never let staking get into the real world with gambling.
I was one of the lucky ones.
“Adam has gone back and lost another 17m” oh ffs Adam
Cosa Nostra 17 billion*
Man I made it to the end and I’m like “noooo cmon Adam!” I didn’t think it would end this way!
when i was 15, i bought 30m for a few dollars (there was no osrs at the time)
that same day i turned it into 1.1b from betting on the flower game poker.
sold it the same day for $880.
1 week before christmas. it was a christmas to remember.

Never seen so many adult virgins in one place lmao
As somebody that dealt with a pretty hefty drug addiction that started as one thing and swayed to another over the course of 8 years, I was sad, but not surprised to see that message about Adam at the very end. I couldn't tell you how many times I have heard somebody with an issue of some kind say "Oh, that was in the past, NOWADAYS I only ever go there/do X activity to screw around and have fun."
Ah, so you go there regularly, are only doing a small margin better, yet are still staking.
the fee the game charges for stakes is equivalent to the house edge irl, it's the reason why the long term average of people lose and it's the reason why should you expect to lose not break even, albeit the average loss isn't huge but the point is that the odds are against you.
Runescape thought me the dangers of gambling at a young age.
Thanks, I've only staked around 10m in all my 14 year career.
It’s never 50/50
OnlySwords what are you talking about? It’s literally 50/50.
Bonds 1.3m?!?! Please brimg it back haha
If anything this video taught me that staking has the best chance of winning on the world
That's why it's so addicting. Better odds than any casino table game or slot machine.
I know this is serious but imagine later on at a meeting for ex gamblers so where did you start oh I started at the casino and you RUNESCAPE
I was waiting for the "jk" at the end... rip Adam
Thing about staking is no matter how many times you win or loose you run out of money the game doesn’t
loose
So being an ex addict I probably shouldn't stake?
Go for it.
Every single person has the possibility to get addicted, its human nature
Bois don’t be spending $3+ for coffee, make your own spend like $0.50 then you only lose $183 a year
seeing this dude by a bond for 2m about made me throw up.
1.3M actually

this is so fucking dramatic and I’m here for it
feels weird to watch this video after losing 14B
lmao same. lost over 4B. Not stopping tho lmao
@@MadeWithVision na man my rng is gone after i lost the 14B i'm done with the arena
@ocelot. i can't rng is gone always get 5-10 losestreak
Lol the vid is trying to disencourage gambling and you have fiends wanting a cut of your bad luck gp lmfao. Disgusting
Easy as that
I swear I heard Lazy Masquerade do a cameo in this video.
I have no idea what staking is and I’ve been playing RuneScape for years. I just spend my time fishing, levelling my combat skills, doing clue scrolls, or doing quests.
I often wonder how people can ever get the money to afford those nice items. I guess this explains it.
Back of my mind I just want to chuck it all LOL LOVE THAT PART
I lost 20b last year and have never looked back best thing I ever did 😀 I don’t play anymore I don’t even care and loads more time with my family
I got a 9b refund from being hacked by mod jed took the 9b into 30b and sold 1-5b per day but got banned soon after on a neat maxed account, pets and roughly 20b of wealth
@@adamelliff7865 is lying on the internet fun for you?
Kane could of sold it if you was quitting and treated your family with the money
Kane lol can i have some to get started with bonds? If you quit a mill would be great :)))
Was addicted to skin gambling in CS. I’m glad that isn’t a big thing anymore. Was nice getting from 50 to 300 but I lost everything because I was a greedy fuck. That was when I was 15/16 or so. Told me a lesson. 2015 was a great time haha
Now take that break and enjoy it. Try not to worry about anything else for now.
I have never staked in my life but untradeble twisted bow sounds really good in my ears.
Having an item like the twisted bow in my bank makes me super nervous what if i get hacked.
Giving players the option to bind it to there account to me sounds perfect.
how about they just drop it then
Went through this with CS:GO..
"Even though the odds are 50/50 , chances are they're not gonna be in your favor" 9:00 ..... you my friend..... have no idea how odds work
I don't play Runescape anymore but don't they take a 1% rake after each duel? So if the odds are 50/50, you are still losing .05% of your own money each time, which actually puts you at less than 50%. Obviously not much less but still less, specially when you think of longevity.
@@DJayAce4 bruh.....don you even realize what u just said.....jfc 🤦🏼♂️
SPARC mac
this video and videos like this inspire me to gamble and test out my luck, thanks Colonello!
Sorry buddy but the Duel Arena got removed forever ago :)
I've always been told and will tell anyone, stay away from the sand casino. You'll eventually lose it all
@@NorkotahYT You have the exact same chance of getting a loss streak, though, so pretty pointless 'advice'.
“I turned the remaining 92M into a twisted bow”
You son of a bitch, I’m in.
The responsibility of addiction is down to the individual in my opinion, i dont think anyone but yourself is to blame
Lost over 75k irl total from staking/gambling on rs since 2010
For real?
Lol
2 years ago (2018) I decided to start off staking 1m. Then occasionally double up if I lost. Made my way up to 100m.... then I lost 6 1m stakes in a row, decided to start doubling up to make my money back ( i had a decent stack and thought I cant possible lose every stake....), 12m, 24m etc. I ended up losing 15 stakes in a row losing my whole bank around 900m.. ended up quitting for 2 years, just started playing again... wish I never went near that money trap and this video came out before I did 😭
Damn now I want to see the original
Why don't people just have self-control? 🤔🧐

2 days ago i had 76m... profited 190m in the last 48 hours from staking alone... im happy with it.... also i have been cleaned about a dozen times and i rebuild every time. time to remove the duel arena which may cut down some rwt

Can u do a video about osrs gambling sites?
Smart people say that you should double your stake after each loss so you can eventually make it all back.
Whether this "eventually" happens before losing everything is something worth debating...
That would be the Martingale strategy and at some point was very common in roulette.. I don't believe in it but you can for sure see a significant difference if you start off your session with a lot of money. Tested it myself a few times for the fun of it and yeah it seems to work for "a while" lol
