I'm kind of glad I didn't hear about this clue back when it was happening. I don't mind a tough puzzle, what I do mind is when devs pretend they're giving real hints to help their players that have had difficulties for months only for them to lead to more dead ends.
They totally should have ultra rate legendary clue scrolls, that if solved, reward something really cool. It doesn't have to be a combat item or something usefull. A cosmetic cape override would be fine.
I started playing osrs just a month ago and i started getting these clue hunter outfit for wintertodt 2 weeks ago. For the last piece.. it said.. it needs super antipoison (1). I didn't bother with 1 dose left and just dig anyways... nothing. There's the jars that do some random things, not sure if all of the uses have been discovered, i think there are 2-3 that are confirmed to not have a purpose tho (excluding the poh display case ofc)
Good transition into the add lol gave me a good laugh. Love the way you edit the videos and the details of having the characters "say" the words is a small but much enjoyed detail!
This is a really good video. While I didn't know who you meant when you said his name was immortalised in-game(maybe because I am F2P), it made me wonder who it the first guy could be. I like puzzles and I like the way you explained the timeline from the start of the video all the way to the reveal. The editing is nice too
Wow this video is top notch. Editing is really good stuff. I must of been afk for a year because I have never heard of this or even seen the armor before. Either way...That ad segway was the best I've seen.
Thank you!
This is the first 30min+ video I think I've ever sat through and thoroughly enjoyed. Well done!
Lamb of God \m/
Imagine thinking Pikachu Yip "Brute Forced it"
among hundreds of thousands of dig spots in the game and thousands of available items
He had the right 3 in 26 inventory slots (-1 for spade and empty space for helm) and dug in, what, 30 spots?
These people don't know real brute forcing lmao
Brute force would be using bots loaded with every possible combo of items digging ever single diggable tile on the map
only just found this channel after seeing another video, never of this crack the clue before, really interesting. this channel has good stuff to binge
inspirational editing and production , love this
Mod Mat K is a genius, was choked when he left.
Lmao what a pathetic group of “treasure hunters” constantly begging for hints on a search they volunteered to take part in only to whine and complain and ruin this game further , I had no idea about this story and it’s sad to see how players handled every situation .
It only takes one person to beg for a hint.
There were plenty of us that thought that was a really lame thing to do.
This video just showed up as recommended but i loved looking at it. Well put together!
Another game, Tibia, has quests that people still don't know how to complete after over 10 years in some cases. Lots of people dedicated to mysteries like that.
Made me wish i was there to expirence it. It's a great video! Now, how TF did anyone solve the f2p selling ruby rings, 27 of the most random items
Can I just appreciate how the intro narrator sounds like Sephiroth telling us a story?
I absolutely love all of the people wearing random helms with the outfit throughout the video. 🤣
Its amazing how 1 single solo player that was not popular or a streamer cracked the clue lol. All those big famous players and big clue clans must have gotten their egos hurt.
It could be that they were overthinking the final solution that they may have overlooked a possible solution
I’m curious if it was too hard to go off of not knowing for so long that you had to have specific items in your inventory.
So glad I got round to watching this. Great video!
Thank you. I didn’t know any of this. I like that all came together and worked hard. And, kept at it. I usually end up throwing my crossword puzzles across the room.
First time i played this game was back in 2009 i was 15 back then. Real quick i realised i was hooked on the game. Now 27 still watching some gameplay.
A really cool time in the community. Matt K is a legend
Really enjoyed your video and I don’t even play osrs. Amazing how hard it is for people to think outside of the box. They never needed anything other than a shovel previously and it doesn’t look like the thought even crossed anyones minds until the devs said as much. Life lessons
11:24 holy shit, that island brings back so many memories of telegrabbing and world hopping for hours to escape f2p lol.
This video is awesome, seriously well done. I was playing OSRS around that time and had no idea there was even a clue to crack.
That picture at 30:29 perfectly describes the RuneScape community and it makes me kind of sad
Awesome video. I've previously looked for something just like this to get the whole story.
I'm kind of glad I didn't hear about this clue back when it was happening. I don't mind a tough puzzle, what I do mind is when devs pretend they're giving real hints to help their players that have had difficulties for months only for them to lead to more dead ends.
considering he was told to f*** off after he did find it, im not surprised he would tell everyone else to f*** off when asked for the solution
“Wood had made a significant step towards the Final Solution”
They totally should have ultra rate legendary clue scrolls, that if solved, reward something really cool. It doesn't have to be a combat item or something usefull. A cosmetic cape override would be fine.
I started playing osrs just a month ago and i started getting these clue hunter outfit for wintertodt 2 weeks ago. For the last piece.. it said.. it needs super antipoison (1).
I didn't bother with 1 dose left and just dig anyways... nothing. But when I had the nature runes, leather boots, and super antipoison 1. on my inventory.. it worked
I could imagine the frustrations of players who did had it but failed for the last check. And superantiposion 1...
I like this!! The storytelling is kinda like LEMMINO - well thought out and easy to follow along even if you don’t care about/play the game. Great work:)
this video was amazing. Everything stood out. The voice, the acting, the music, the way you presented everyting. Emotional.
I still can't believe that people were that mad about him ACTUALLY cracking the code lmao
RS3 has something similar with the Mystery Perk. The mods say it's not as glamorous. And it's never talked about. But it's still an unknown thing
Almost! I spent some time on this one in a different video some months ago. We found out what it does; absolutely nothing. It's intended to be mysterious and make you wonder what it does :P
Ancient days of 2016 made me chuckle. Used to play back in 02-03.
That Pikachu Yip guy is a fucking legend.
