Nice, clean setup. I have the J1 that has performed nicely on my PA 14 360. Battery died over the winter but Bixpy stood behind their product and repaired at no charge even though it was out of warranty. Nuff said.
I'll be using the Bixpy J2 for the first time once we're finished with our 9 months of winter. I was wondering about using a carabiner for exactly the reason you stated -- good to know an expert says it's OK! And the guides and lock sound awesome. Glad to see your placement of the battery. I was wondering WHERE to put that! Thanks! Roger, The Smiling BassHole
Good luck first time out. You will have fun. Now they have an extended range battery. Figures. But this one has been ok since I also use my fins as well. Glad I could help. Tight lines. Yes winter sucks.
@@rjmfishtales Yeah. They came out with the extended range battery soon after I bought mine. BUT I don't think that's going to be an issue. I'm old (70) and only fish small lakes and ponds. But this will help me get to the other end and come back when I'm done for the day. IF the battery craps out constantly, well, then I'll consider upgrading. But mostly I will still use the PA 14 360 pedals. Fish on!
That looks like a really cool light motor. I have a the Newport Vessels NK 180 and I absolutely love it. I won it last year on one of Greg Blanchard‘s giveaways, and to be honest I was not in the market of buying a motor but you know what it’s a game changer for sure as you know. I can get up past 5 miles an hour with my Hobie outback fully loaded. I have Amped outdoors 50 amp hour 24 V battery for it and have not ever come close of killing it. It is a great combo.
That’s cool you won it. Yes a motor is a game changer. One day I might be able to upgrade to something a bit faster and longer range….but have to put some other things first. But it does work good and I average 4.25-4.75. Better than pedaling the whole way!! Helps the body on multiple days of fishing for sure.
I immediately replaced the cap nuts with nylon nuts as well in fact I made a few hardware improvements out of the box! Also added lock washers under the thumb screws as they will come loose due to vibration and I don't want to lose them on the water! Also the kill switch line is not long enough to reach your ankle......I put it on my steering wrist when under power only and take it off while fishing as it restricts your range of motion!
I am going to see how things hold out before replacing completely. I have the on the water review scheduled to come out on Wednesday at 1pm EST. Thanks for the support sir.
The whole kit from from Bixpy itself. Even with the paracord. I got the caribeaners from Home Depot. If you go on Bixpy’s website and go to their accessories and you will find all the pieces.

HEY BRO WHERE DID YOU BUY THE BLACK HARD PLASTIC PLATE
From One Objective. They make kayak accessories for a bunch of items.
Power cord requires their battery?
Yes you have to use their battery that comes with it as it is synced to the remote if that is what you are asking.
@@rjmfishtales ah. Ok. Thanks for response!
No problem.
