Dark Souls may be iconic, Bloodborne may be Miyazaki’s favorite written story. But MY GOSH do I love Elden Rings lore, it’s just too good man. The combined genius of GRRM and Miyazaki is un paralleled dude.
I'm just now realizing the way Miyazaki writes his souls games might be inspired by Martin because elder ring lore is very similar In how dark souls and Bloodborne were told.
Power does not corrupt. Power enhances all aspects of a being, both negative and positive. Thus most spiritual paths emphasizes refining the self before seeking power so your flaws don't destroy yourself and others.
@@KDB349 That's more a projection than a reality. Power is life. Without it, one succumbs to external forces and perishes. Even if it is in the form of money, you need power to survive. It's best you learn to use it wisely than reject it.
That's actually kinda what happened to the demigods after receiving their Great Runes. It allowed them to act on their best traits, but to an excessive degree, turning virtue into vice, like turning Rykard's ambition into gluttony. The game does showcase that power can be used for good, such as the Age of Stars ending, where a new order is established to fix the world, but the ruling deities give up control to allow its denizens free will and choice. Ranni's story, in general, is a showcase of the worst and best aspects of having great power. Her methods were often abhorrent, but her pursuit of personal self-determination, as well as that of others, is a good thing. In general, the game shows that the power to decide your own actions and fate are sacred, while the most heinous and tragic moments in the story are those where beloved characters are stripped of those things.
@@Marco1995Mega Ranni did what she did in order to retain her own free will rather than become Marika 2.0. This gave her empathy for those also enslaved under the Golden Order and she ended that. Power however is inevitably paid for in blood, both in those she had killed and those she lost Iji, Blaidd, her own body. Sacrifice is the root of all power.
One more thing my first playthrough I played totally blind & when I got through everything I went to NG+ but this time mostly following a walkthrough & my mind was blown how much stuff was in this game that if you don’t find it goes completely missed. This game is amazing to me & even though I started playing souls around 2015 with BB Elden Ring is one of those unforgettable games that I wish I could re experience again for the first time
I had the exact same experience lmfao, on my first playthough I honestly didn't even really know the quests even existed (other than Ranni) and was blown away by the amount of content I missed lmfao
@@NotSaberFrr Dude right? I missed so many questlines playing blind but that’s how fromsoft games are lol I really liked the Millicent quest & Alexander’s/Jar Bairns.
Very well written and excellent presentation. You clearly layed out your thesis at the outset and each section succintly supports your argument. Well done!
Melina is absolutely right when she says that i think. When he says "may chaos take the world" all i see is a shitload of suffering until a new order is established. But that does not in any way mean that order is good, too much order and we are put in prison cells The same thing with chaos, where people believe it doesnt matter what they do with their life. There is a reason why people should work and that reason is the more that is produced the cheaper the price.
Organized so well, such a fun and well made watch, as someone with over 1000 hours on Elden ring this made me very happy. only suggestion I’d make for future videos is some of the music mixing drowns your voice out in certain areas. Good shit as usual, happy to be part of the saberist army
If maidens are the only ones who can truely forge runes to power, perhaps this is why radaggon has not been able to repair the elden ring as his effective maiden marika has rejected to do so
One thing I may add on to ranni and her accession to godhood although she has done bad things and made sacrifices like miquella and marika did ultimately leading to their downfall unlike them who tried to act as if what they did was right or completely hide it ranni accepted who she was and admits to us personally and others this is what she did she knows she’s done bad and yet people still follow her knowing the sins she committed not of manipulation but because of a belief even us the player believe in the end that her goal is the correct one a ending that is away from the greater will because in the end she has always been honest to us when it matters my brain lowk malfunctioning though I had more to say but I forgot but lmk if you get what I mean on how her way to power felt right despite being similar to the other two
Elden Rings Opening Music is burned into my brain forever, ER released the day after my Dad died and I will always associate that intro music with his memory.
What changes in the Lands Between when a new Lord becomes the vessel for the Elden Ring? The Golden Order, as I understand, is eternal. So what difference does it make to the universe who is the current vessel?
The Golden Order is Marika's system of order. She modifies the Elden Ring to create a world order of her own design. An example of this would be her removing of the rune of death. Hope that helps.

That was such a beautiful intro
I love that dialogue from Melina when you’re outside the 3 fingers

There is always an order. The golden order is a very specific type of order led by marika.
Can you do a video about vengral from dark souls 2 the decapitated head guy, he’s a very deep character
