Excellent as always, Pete! InterApp with MIDI is super awesome for getting countless other options in Cubasis. I’m loving this series and appreciate your hard work to share it with us.
Cheers Sean. Appreciate your support as always.
Another gem,Pete! Seems like the learning curve isn't as steep as you (and I) imagined 👊
Absolutely. Still a few things that I’m getting used to, so would still be quicker using GarageBand.
Keep the videos coming...I’m learning along with you! I’m looking forward to creating a full song using the great-sounding midi instruments available in Cubasis.
There’s some solid instruments in there. Like GarageBand it’s a little hit and miss as some sounds are definitely higher quality than others.
In the MIDI editor there is a column of buttons all the way on the left. These buttons let you make notes longer or shorter , move notes up and/or down and a couple other things. Hold down the button you need while you edit away. Fun watching do this. Thanks for sharing.
Nice! Yes, need to dive in to the MIDI editing in more detail for sure.
Thanks Pete keep them coming 👍
👍🙏🤘
Pete, you're so deep into GB I just don't see that changing, but this is interesting to watch! :)
Yep. I still think I’ll reach for GarageBand when creating as it’s so intuitive to me now, but it’s nice to have options and stretch out of my comfort zone every now and then.
Cool video, Pete! 👍
Continuing to enjoy myself with this series.
Lead on Pete...Great Stuff.
👍🙏🤘
Hi Pete, thanks for the videos - nice once as always. One of the major things missing in GB is export of stems and midi tracks. Have you look into that?
Yeah, that’s Apple! Exporting MIDI should be as simple as a comma separated CSV text file more or less.
You can export stems in GB by solo’ing individual tracks and exporting.
You can export MIDI from GB using RouteMIDI AU app
Hey there. I haven’t played around with exporting of stems yet so not sure about audio stems. Will find out as we go.
Cubasis King! 🙌🏾
Haha!! Far from it, but we are getting there.
@@PeteJohnsMusic we could say Cubasis is currently an Executive! Welcome to the C-Level Club :)
Eventually, it would be the Emperor!!
Pete Johns Lol!
MobileMusic Lol yep! You would be the Cubasis Prime Minister. 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Pete, Loving your enthusiasm and teaching. You are a natural teacher. Really glad I came across your site. Just started looking at GB by coming across your videos. I have an iPad but probably didn’t take GB seriously. Not sure about Cubasis. I am a Reaper user. Doubt if I will swap given the range and versatility the current version of Reaper offers but following your videos I just recorded a tune in GB. Exporting Audio is ok because I know what I am doing but of course MIDI export would be preferable. Just curious as to why you switched from Reaper. I see GB/Cubasis as useful sketch pads, particularly as a lot of my music pals record on their iPhones to sketch their ideas but for a full blown suite for mixing, editing and mastering I just find there are too many steps in what is involved and a huge limitation on Plugins. Great content though. By the way if you are looking for real (free to you) interpretive drum parts for your songs instead of built electronic stuff let me know. It’s what I do for the musicians I play with. You are the best on UA-cam on this topic. Great.
Hey George. Thanks for watching and taking thy time to comment. I simply found Reaper had a few too many options and too much going on. It was at a time where I had very l it take free time so found on couldn’t invest the time needed to really embrace Reaper. I wanted something much simpler to just plug in and record when I was recording an EP back in 2017 and GarageBand just got the bill perfectly. Who knows where I’ll go in the future. We are so spoiled for choice!!
I know Pete. Whatever works for what you are doing. Really good content though. Not sure if everyone understands the hard work involved in producing your guidance. No criticism here. Just loving learning from you. Be safe.
Appreciate the support my friend.
Hi Pete. Been avidly watching your videos on CB3 And Auria Pro. One thing I did notice on CB3 when you had it open on the piano roll with your plugins listed on the left. I saw you had ISymphonic listed. Can you select the instruments from ISymphonic within CB3 and record them straight in as midi?
Keep up the good work mate and thanks for all your info. 👍
Hey there. I believe so yes as iSymphonic is an AUv3 plugin.
I just bit the bullet and purchased Cubasis 3
Nice one. Hope you find it as much fun to play with as I have. Lots of potential there.
🔥🔥🔥
🙏
Can you do more of Cubasis 3 tutorials?
Woke king on them right now! We are 4 in and have another one coming tomorrow. 👍
@@PeteJohnsMusic thanks
Great video Pete ...... my question is ... are there as many internal virtual instrument/keyboard/synth sounds in CB3 as there are in iOS GB? As I am more of a keyboard player then this is quite important for me ..... though one has the ability to use AuV3 plug ins such as Synthmaster One etc. I am watching ... but I still think that GB is 'easier' and more intuitive ..... but it is also what I am used to! Keep them coming .... :)
Yeah, I’m thinking that thanks to Alchemy that GarageBand still has Cubasis beat in terms of total sounds you can dial in natively. Moving over to Auria next week but we will see in the end what the comparisons end up looking like.
Looking forward to seeing them all ......! :)
Hey Pete I have a question. Is there an app that will tell me the dB LUFS of my stereo mixes? Or even just a way to tell that I’ve got the headroom for mastering. Thanks in advance.
Hey there. I haven’t personally done a lot of research in to this so I would throw this out there to the Create Record Release group perhaps? Http://createrecordreleaae.com
Hey Pete, is there a way to play 2 instruments in Cubasis via the midi keyboard but splitting the keyboard into zones - just like you can on most keyboards by using zones and splitting bass for the left hand and and lead for the right.
Cheers, Clive
Hey Clive. I don’t believe so? You’d probably need to record in the first sound and then multi track the second.
Midi Power 🎹🎷
👍🙏🤘
Hi is there a site you can recommend to me that extract hidden adlibs or vocals to song ot my problem for a while since im using mobile device
There’s nothing that works super well but you can try this service - ua-cam.com/video/dUdOj0D-Mdk/v-deo.html
I cannot find any info on this so im hoping you could direct me to a video maybe. I believe you can only use one interapp audio track at a time. Is it possible to use two or more and if it is how do i do it. I just cant find a ton of info on cubasis on youtube.
Hmmmm.... I haven’t personally tried using multiple inter app audio on multiple tracks? Might need to ask around perhaps the iPad Musician Facebook group?
Can you used Cubasis and a keyboard controller with expression pedals?
Not sure sorry. If it’s class compliant you probably can.
How can I use the added samples in my keyboard instead the samples of Cubasis?
H there. I haven’t used the sampler in Cubasis sorry so not sure sorry. I would suggest asking on a specific Cubasis forum or group.
I found cubasis 2 editing of midi notes no where as nice as GB- physically at least. Loook forward to your take on Midi editing in Cubasis #3...
Cubasis has one of the best MIDI editors.
Try editing velocities of multiple notes in GB and see how hard it is - you can edit velocity of only one note at a time by bringing up a popup.
In Cubasis, you can draw velocities of hundreds of notes with just a swipe.
You can check my songs - that kind of MIDI editing would be too painful in GB
It does seem a little less intuitive, which may mean it has more powerful options. Always a trade off. Will keep exploring. The beauty is that I’m completely agnostic. I love GarageBand but if there’s something that does things better, I’m going to check it out.
@@MobileMusic quite true - but like all “mass/bulk” OPERATIONS, ie like cut and paste verses xN times, it tends to make MIDI sound even more MIDI like - I usually craft each note anyway to get more natural variation in my music..
@@michaelmarshall55 Yeah, I handcraft each MIDI note too for best results
I'm exploring Cubasis 2 right now so I feel your pain.
😁
@@PeteJohnsMusic so this doesn’t work with cubasis 2?
I want to know if most of the midi keyboards are able to connect to an android phone
I haven’t personally had any experience with this sorry. But I imagine that if they are class compliant they will be able to connect.
@@PeteJohnsMusic thanks for replying! have a nice day bro
