Pete... how do you record in mono? I use bias fx2, and I will start with a mono track.. but after I record the guitar track it automatically turns into a stereo track.
Thanks so much for these vids, Pete. When I first decided to go back to playing guitar after 20+ years I couldn't afford expensive amplifiers & pedals, much less traditional recording equipment, which tbh is all that I knew. Thanks to your videos I learned a LOT quickly, & now have a great little iPad studio (GarageBand, Amplitube, a Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface, an inexpensive midi keyboard, and a nice MXL 770 mic) and it's brought a lot of joy back into my life. I'm disabled and I live with terrible levels of chronic pain so, not to sound too hyperbolic here, the "escapism" that I get from writing & recording music has truly changed my life. I have watched hours & hours of countless UA-cam videos, but it's your channel that has taught me the most, and it's the main channel that keeps me coming back over and over again. Your knowledge & your ability to teach without "going over my head", combined with your seemingly never-ending positivity, has been invaluable to me! So sincerely - thank you! As to the subject at hand here - after only a few months with GarageBand I have found myself wanting a little more out of a daw, and Cubasis seems to fit the bill perfectly! I will still use GB for now as I continue to learn, but Cubasis seems to be more in line with what I'm looking for - not overly complicated but with a few more "bells and whistles". I think Cubasis will be the perfect stepping stone between GarageBand and a full-on daw like Logic, which I hope to learn later on down the road when I can save up for a proper Mac computer. What makes these Cubasis vids so valuable for me is that you were willing to record yourself as you are figuring it all out on the fly, just as any new user would. I'm very much enjoying learning it along with you! Keep up the great work, Pete! You're a great teacher and a gem of a guy from what I can tell, and I appreciate your time and efforts. ✌

Hi Pete, it’s Mario again. Just stumbled over your channel again and want to say this is a very good explanation. To me as a German your pronunciation is very good, I can understand every single word. I recently made a recording completely on the iPad using the Audio Evolution Mobile App. I was amazed how good that can sound especially when I bought some plug-ins in there from the company named toneboosters (Netherlands). If you want high class Effect Plug Ins for low money this is the place to go. After the good experience I want to try out Cubasis 3. and while I was searching for Cubasis on UA-cam your channel was immediately suggested. Keep your good work up and all the best! Mario.

Hey Darren. Should be no issues with the HD in Cubasis. Is it working on GarageBand? Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group. createrecordreleaae.com
Hey Pete nice video. I have an issue with latency. I’m using m-audio Fast track pro, quite old these days. Now using jam up pro free version, latency is bad. I researched it a bit and some say that Apple doesn’t allow lower than 256buffer setting. This is why amp sim is hard to play. Now being a non compliant interface drivers aren’t a possibility. Can you say what the lowest latency is with your stein berg, what is your buffer setting. Thanx. Maybe someone else has fixed this issue. Thanx Pete. I am using a 6gen regular iPad.
Hey there. I haven’t played around with settings in Cubasis so far but latency didn’t seem to be a problem at all in my testing today. Maybe ask over somewhere like the iPad Musician group on Facebook?
When you need to overdub to correct a mistake, it is impossible to do it efficiently, because when you record the new take and play it, you listen to both at the same time (old and new), so you need to create a new track, drag the new take, split the previous one and delete the part that contains the error manually. @@PeteJohnsMusic Hey Pete, just getting going on cubasis recording and this was the first issue that came up! is there a way to do destructive overdubbing? Thanks for making these excellent vids, Fritz from DC

I have the ability to select as low as 32 buffer. I just want to let you know as its much more usable. Thanx

I fixed it I went to hub and added a new project now input Trk 2 gtr audio reads/shows the audio bar I guess I was using the default Cubasis page when I first opened it & that one didn’t show gtr input on track 2 or 1 Thx
I am also having a latency problem with cubasis 3. I went to settings > Hardware Latency. There is a setting for iPad Microphone > it has 4 choices: 1.5 ms / 2.9 ms / 5.8 ms / and 11.6 ms...none of which change the latency for guitar. The latency is substantial. I'm using Steinberg interface--same as you (I've also tried Scarlett). I don't get latency with Garageband. Any ideas?
I must admit that I wasn’t super happy with the Cubasis amps so haven’t used them much. I generally use Tonebridge and find it pretty solid for guitar recording.
@@PeteJohnsMusic recording guitar in iOS, there is still a very big latency issues what ever amp sim you used. I think if you set the buffer size to 64 or even lower, the latency issue would go away. However I don’t know if the new iPad CPU can handles so low buffer size.
Hello Pete. I bought a Steinberg UR 12 audio interface which I am currently trying to use through Cubasis LE 3 on both my IPad and also on an IPad 11. Both to same effect. When trying to record audio I only get a signal when I choose stereo input and only through the right channel. I suppose the mono input should be functioning, but it doesnt. Could it be the interface is defect or just my brain? What Can be done?
Hey there. So if you plug in to the left channel and select channel 1 you get nothing? Are you using a condenser mic and possibly don’t have phantom power (48v) selected on the back? And have you tried a different mic or input device? Otherwise it may indeed be a faulty input?
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you very much. It was my brain after all. I had only plugged my guitar into port two and because my workspace/studio was a mess i had not connected the mic to port 1 yet. When choosing mono channel 2 I expected the button to chance colour to blue (as the chosen Channel 1) and did not notlce the number 2 actually light up. Poor eyesight and lazyness on my behalf. It’s sort of getting a tradition for me to get all confused over new hardware. I feel lucky that someone like you exist. All is well and I am very exited to get started. ❤️👍😀
micro usb to usb c wire .. that is connected from keyboard to tabs9 ultra it works but can't use blue tooth headphones it will create lag ... problem 2 is I can't get the sounds the keyboard make no matter what I do it only does Cubasis 3 sounds I did vocal track and I did midi track but it only does Cubasis sounds with my casio ct-s1 .... driving me nuts .. @@PeteJohnsMusic I solved it by rebooting my iPad. You might want to suggest that to others who have the same issue.
How can add Amplitube or another guitar plugin to Cubasis 3 ? I use android.
I’m not proficient on Android and only a little proficient in Cubasis. You might need to ask over at the Cubasis Users Facebook group.
There is a big latency by using the amp sim in cubasis3. I think is quiet difficult for me to record. How can you overcome that?
please help me how i can,
mono change to stereo ??
cubase 3
Cubase or Cubasis? Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group - createrecordreleaae.com

how i can mono change to stereo and how i can stereo change vocal to mono in cubasis 3 ??
I’m trying to record my piano in stereo on Cubasis 3. For some reason, I’m having issues recording my piano in stereo. It’s easy recording it in midi
Make sure you have a stereo track set up in Cubasis, or two tracks you can pan left and right. ua-cam.com/video/Dbz8sxuy5X0/v-deo.html
Use a les paul to record fender sounds. Classic!

Is "Cubasis" a new software?
I know the Cubase, but not Cubasis.
It’s the mobile version of Cubasis. More videos are here - ua-cam.com/play/PLc8Xg_23Wa54zwu5O6cdPeBbsMaEoPbh9.html
