      💯 I just got a 2019 2.0 a little over a month ago. So glad I did. Haven't had many chances to stretch its legs, but when I have been able to lay into the throttle, it's incredible! Gas mileage in heavy traffic is pretty bad, even in Eco, but in the burbs and highway, I'm completely satisfied.

    I have a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T and despite the fact that the '23 has newer tech and gets better fuel economy, I wouldn't even consider it over my '21. The 2.0T is so good in the 10th gen Accord. The more you drive it, the more you appreciate it and love it. It truly is a gem of a vehicle. I was at the dealer getting mine serviced just yesterday and got into a conversation with one of the salespersons and he and I talked about how Honda dumbed down the performance and fun factor in the new model. He said there have been numerous people who have mentioned it and he also encouraged me to keep mine because the demand would be high in the future. I just wish Honda had dropped the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid as their core engine and kept the 2.0T option for those of us who prefer more performance.

      If you're coming from a hybrid to another hybrid then it makes more sense. For people coming from the 2.0T it's hard to now just get a hybrid if you had no interest whatsoever for it in the past. To me I'm in-between as I like better MPGs but some power at the same time. I'd say try out a 2.0T. I love mine, and I used to love driving my uncle's 7th gen V6. 2.0T is toquey but falls off over 5k due to a small turbo. Tune+E85 alone brings you to 300whp/330tq. 10 speed auto is super nice and fast (though it can be jerky), interior and tech is great, and you can get a manual from 2018-2020 (stopped selling them due to VERY poor sales). You also talked about the Honda sensing the new accord has with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, etc. saying it was much safer and easier to drive than the ‘21, but the last gen accord has all that same stuff too. Although I really liked my 2021, I really, really, really like my 2023! The newly designed interior, the electronic features, the vastly more comfortable leather seats, the feel of the drive and ride; and though I liked the push button transmission shifts, the gear stick really gives the added feel of "I'm driving" involvement. I kinda wish Honda still offered the very popular Sonic Gray exterior color, which I was told is no longer offered on the 2023 11th generation Accord, I am pleased with the Surban Gray, as well, though it does not get that instant attention of the former Sonic Gray that I had on my 2021. Since 2017, I have owned a 2016, 2019, 2021, and now a 2023 Honda Accord. The 2023 will likely be my last Honda Accord for many years to come unless some really drastic improvements and style changes occur. I am officially a Honda Accord groupie and can not envision myself reverting or converting to any other brands at this point.

    All the auto journalists over the past decade plus complaining about hard plastics in the interior, thank you. Because of this non stop complaining cars are now ridiculously priced. Nicer materials mean higher prices. These are not luxury vehicles. Hard plastics can do their job and look good if done properly. Keep the touch points nice and thats it. Easier to clean and most of all easier to afford.
    I prefer the prior gen accord. The 2.0T motor is my choice. Dropping that motor drops the accord from a vehicle I would buy. Plus the new accord looks like a new take on the older ford taurus. Not my cup of tea.

    Honestly, for my 2021 Accord 2.0T for whatever it's worth, the tech I can put in manually from the 2023 through aftermarket but putting a 2.0 engine in a 2023 is literally impossible, I love my 2021/22, they need to bring that back.

    Honda did pretty much the same thing as Mercedes S class did. New car looks smoother and younger, and lost that aggression. Pretty much that happened with the Mercedes W222 it looked like a business class very classy and business style, with W223 that changed.

    I had the 10th gen, great car but I think the 19 inch wheels are way overkill. Winter tires for those are very expensive. I really don't like this trend of larger wheels and smaller tire side walls. I know it is for looks but not impressed especially with the associated poor ride quality and costs of related rubber. Glad they ditched the push button shifter.

    • @jeffjo8732
      @jeffjo8732 Рік тому +1

      The push-button shifter was one of the best features. It really took only 2 days to adjust to the difference, which really wasn't that different. You do have to "find" the right button instead of the stick, but that is trivial. And easier to do without looking once you learn.Slide your hand down the array while pushing lightly with your index finger, and it just "falls" onto the Reverse button without fail. And the Drive button is so big, with a raised rim, that it is easier to find without looking than the stick. And once you have "soft" shifting, you can change the setting to shift into park when you turn the car off. You really don't use the other buttons except in isolated situations, like a pull-thru car wash for the Neutral button.
      And then there is the extra room. No, I'm upset they ditched it.

      Agree. My 2.0t pulls down 34-36mpg on the highway already so 41mpg there isn't a huge gain. In the city it gets 20-22 mpg with my spirited fun but had they paired the 2.0t with a battery pack, it too could easily pull down 44mpg AND Still be fun and then when desired could actually have been quick a bit quicker. They totally missed the mark IMO.

    Interior of the newer model feels cheaper though its cleaner. Honda used lots of plastic and cost cutting. The 2021 Sport 2.0 is far superior to the 2023 Sport Hybrid(full cloth seats in the newer one). AC vent nobs have cheaper feeling plastic. The fit and finish is not even close and you can see it in current dealership pricing. They'd throw in deals to get you to take the 2023 but will not budge so much on price for the older generation as it has more market demand and value. Test drove both.

    9:45 "You can tell that it's not just the gas motor that's propelling the car."
    This is misrepresented. The gas *_engine_* is not propelling the car at all when you accelerate, or are under 40 mph. Only the electric *_motor_* is. In fact, from any performance assessment, this is a true electric vehicle. It's just not a *_battery_* EV, it is a *_generator_* *_plus_* *_battery_* EV.

These guys came across to me as salesmen for the new Honda Accord 😅 I'm a Honda girl, but not really impressed with the new design. I love my 2019 Accord, but will admit android auto sucks at times connecting, so I hope that the feature was improved upon in the newer Accords. Nevertheless, I understand why my Honda svs guys always tell me to never sell my Accord. Probably has alot to do with it being a 2.0T manual transmission with low mileage.
