It's no secret Honda is very humble with their HP numbers....I had the accord 2.0T and let me tell you I miss it so much....the connection to the road from the steering was so precise and that engine mated to this transmission was do damn quick!!
Ok so the Honda makes full torque at 273 pound ft at 1500 RPM and carries that all throughout the powerband meanwhile the camry makes it's full torque at 4700 RPM that puts the camry at a disadvantage already you have to rev the engine all the way up in the power band. I think this roll race should be done over with the camry manual shift revved to 4700 in the optimal gear for the MPH and RPM instead of "Auto Shift". 2 different vehicles with 2 different ways they make HP and Torque. Guaranteed it would have been a different outcome. It wouldn't have won from a dig but from a roll, it should have been the camry winning. Put it to the test Sam! Has nothing to do with the transmission. It has a lot to do with how the car makes power and torque.
Bullshit That Honda Accord 2.0t was tuned. However… The Camry TRD isn’t a true performance car; it features TRD body kits and a stiffer suspension, but lacks a limited-slip differential (LSD). This is why it struggles at the starting line. The 2GR engine is designed for fuel efficiency rather than performance. However, if you tune that 2GR with D2 performance parts and add an LSD, you'll unleash a powerful performance Camry. Or add a Lotus supercharger to it.
Great comparison, I bought a 23 Camry 3.5 sport, but seriously considered the Accord only to find the new one lost the K20 and went hybrid. Got the Camry in the exact spec I wanted, both are great cars that you can't go wrong with.
Honda is sandbagging the numbers on that 2.0t. Definitely had more power than 252. 10 speed helps but if a car is pulling at the top end then it is hp that makes it pull.
Most people that owned the accord said it's a boring ride Compared to the camry. It might be faster stock, but it offers less overall than the camry. Personally, I think it's a testiment to the power of that engine that it's NA going against turbos (yes I know it's a bigger engine). It definitely matters. Someone else said the Honda was tuned, and I have to agree (I have no evidence).

@@Whatintheworld-vk6qg The best part is the A4 is a luxury car, not a drag car. Some money was spent on that fact and at no point was the engine meant to be a selling feature. That is whan an S4 and an RS4 is for.
With a tune, the car's acceleration is matching cars that are made to be sports cars. I don't own one but my buddy had a 2006 A4 2.0T which was lame to drive and a tune made it much better. He now has a 2017 A4 and he tuned it with a Stage 1 APR tune and it really moves. 375 to 388 ft lbs of torque is pretty decent. The car doesn't need exhaust or any other tricks, just a flash. My buddy's car is also fully loaded with every Christmas light and digital delight. Given it's solid feel, electronic toys, looks, tuned hp output, quattro stability, it is a nice personal space to be in.
The Accord 2.0T Never Fails 👍
Thank you sam, th best drags ever... accord vs camry 👏👊 honda power!! Audi is underrated power and the trac quattro is powerfull
Would have been super cool if you did the last Accord V6 vs. The last Camry V6 👍👍👍
Probably head to head 2.0T eats both but I’ve heard the experience in the accord v6 is more engaging than the 2.0
@chalelu Yeah, for sure, but we knew the 2.0t would beat the v6 camry, would have just been cool to see how the last year of honda v6 went up against the last year of camry v6
As a 16 AV6 Touring owner, would love to see this!!! If I ever plan on getting to Toronto in my Accord, I'll ping Sam. I'm still stock and only have 58k (miles) on the clock.

@@CARBONHAWK1 In a roll race?
I remember test driving the 2.0T Accord with the 10-spd AT when I owned a 435i Gran Coupe. The Accord truly drove like my GC in Comfort mode. It really was an impressive powertrain with a great suspension. Yes, could def tell it was FWD, but I still wish I had gotten the 2.0T Accord vs. the Stinger GT I ended up with at the time.
As a former G70 owner that I luckily was able to get bought back for purchase price, I sure am enjoying my Accord 2.0t. I don't even miss the AWD, and won't in the snow either. It sounds like you no longer have the Stinger, if so why did you get rid of it?
@@JustinConley I leased the Stinger and the term was up. I seriously considered keeping it but wanted an upgraded stereo and trim quality on the car was not great. had to replace exterior trim pieces 3 times due to marring. I'm still disappointed Honda eliminated the 2.0T with the 10-spd AT. It was such a great powertrain even if the majority of buyers didn't want it and it encroached on the base TLS sales.
The way Honda kissed grandpa Camry goodbye is funny to me
They're both slower than turtles

@@EnnesX That crack you're smoking must be some seriously potent stuff, wow. Insane comment. Not only purely ignorant.. but lets just consider that VW AG also produces Porsches, whats your low IQ take on those? Not to mention the fact that Volkswagen AG owns Bugatti and Lamborghini as well.. lol. "Never have the technology or quality to achieve" that of a Honda.. hilarious.
I needed a similar race 12 years ago with the V6 Accord 🆚 V6 Camry 🆚 Passat VR6 😂 Anyway great video once again.👍🏾
You forgot one that could beat them all . The Mazda 6 V6 3.7 L , how I know I got one and still smokes modern vehicles .
Bullshit
That Honda Accord 2.0t was tuned. However…
The Camry TRD isn’t a true performance car; it features TRD body kits and a stiffer suspension, but lacks a limited-slip differential (LSD).
Definitely had more power than 252. 10 speed helps but if a car is pulling at the top end then it is hp that makes it pull.
what would you say about the 6-speed manual in the 2.0t? lol
Might be ,as its the same engine that equips the civic type r and it develops 320hp
Toyta fanboys gonna cry over this one Sam . I can already see it! "Oh the accord is tuned " , "toyota will outlast all of them" , "Sam dont know how to drive" and so on 😂. But the reality is , the trd is just slow. Like most toyotas.
