The first few secs has to spool then away I go. I’ve owned my ‘18 for 6 years now, but the lag is always apparent and shifting is too many haha through those 10 gears. I bought brand new Honda Accord hybrid EXL 2018 is excellent vehicle, it’s very comfortable, NO road nose, handling is very good, smooth ride, very reliable, average MPG I got 47 to 50.
In my opinion about 2.0 trim a lot of power and 1.5 trim lack of power and both had road nose, uncomfortable ride . I currently owned hybrid EXL and 2.0 EXL, most of times i do service at Honda dealership they loaded me Accord 1.5 engine, so I drove all 3 trim Accord, they all reliable cars. But for me to picked one Accord hybrid EXL for life is a best vehicle, I love every time I get in the car to drive no complaints. Oh on my EXL hybrid I had 97K miles I haven’t replace new brake yet Honda dealership said brake still good , all I did was do maintenance oil change and air filter and drive.

I have driven 110k on my 2018 accord 10th gen and i have had only a couple issues around 80k the ACC sensor went out and Honda wants 450$ to reprogram it. Its annoying and unsafe so i don't use it like he was saying i was almost got rear ended on the highway i would recommend not using it. My only other issue is the paint is not holding up very well there is a lot of chips in the paint already. yes its six years old but i have seen good paint jobs not chip for 20 years.... With that being said I'm getting it repainted this month. over all give this car a 4 out of 5 stars very fun, safe, comfortable and dependable car that i imagine well maintained will last for a long time! 2019 Honda Accord hybrid Touring. first owner
    Cons
    1. The tires 🛞 that came with the car off the lot had poor handling on turning. I replaced them immediately and that fixed the problem
    2. The sound system suck me. my 2011, Honda Accord had better sound speakers 🔊 I took my car in to a stereo shop, upgraded all four speakers and subwoofer amplifier’s
    3. head gasket blew and oil pump broke at 60,000 miles and $3000 later…. My 2011 Accord never gave me these problems.
    Pros.
    1. MPGs up to 48 in traffic, highway 35 MPGs
    2. Great for commuting and travel. less driver fatigue with lane assist and adaptive cruise control
    3. heated and cooling ventilated seats.
    4. Ice cold AC

The stereo system uses the subwoofer to do active noise cancellation. I believe there is a hidden sub menu that allows you to turn off of active noise cancellation. My 9th Gen had the Honda noise cancellation, it made everything sound like an echo chamber. Turned it off, sounds better!

The seats do suck, but I also have the 2.0 Sport and those seats are supposedly stiffer than non-sport models. So I’ve read at least. I use a Conformax GelPad. As for the ACC, it was improved for the 2021 model, which was also the super minor facelift, which consisted of different shape fog lights. I have 47,000 miles on my 2021 Sport 2.0 and I’m overall satisfied with it, minus the seats and sound. I did get new tires, Yokohama YK-740, and they are quieter than the OEM Michelins. Transmission drain and fill and brakes due soon.

I have a 2018. The audio was effin terrible and I couldn't stand it, I upgraded the speakers to JBL speakers all around with damping mat and foam and that made a dramatic difference even with the factory stereo. I also added a Rockford Fosgate 10" self powered sub in a tiny box so it does not take up a lot of room. Sounds so nice now. The factory GoodYear Touring tires really sucked they even wore out really quick so I replaced them with something else. During the pandemic, a lot tires were hard to get a hold of so the only tire I was able to get at the time was some cheap West Lake tires from Discount Tire and yo the difference in road noise and overall ride was HUGE! Really smooth and quiet. One last thing, the road departure feature absolutely scared me once because I had it set to on while on the highway and the right side lane white line disappeared due to some road construction and the next thing I knew, the steering jerked itself to the right almost hitting the cement barrier. After that I never turned that feature on again.

The paddles don't do anything at all and react multiple seconds after a press. The gears 1 to 2 jerk like crazy in slow speeds, and so does 2 to 3. It's not eager to downshift up hill at all and stays in 10th. Sport mode is the only fix but over all it's a very mediocre trans as far as refinement. If you want to decrease your stopping distance, get better tires, and more aggressive pads. A larger brake rotor does not decrease stopping distance. Poor sound from the stereo combined with road noise is an indication of lack of insulation in places like the doors and under the back seat, boot and firewall.
This is easily and cheaply addressed by more spray on underbody sealant as well as sound deadening material in the doors and under the rear seat as well as the boot including the wheel arches. A few hundred dollars with an hour or two of work will reduce the noise and improve the stereo sound rather a lot. I have done it on few cars of late and it is remarkable how much difference it makes especially to the music and rumbling noise from tyres on poor roads.

    • @Rob-fx2dw
      @Rob-fx2dw Рік тому +1

@@TheLemonFactor Not so much. Door panels are easy to remove - a few minutes each door.
Cutting out the deadener is also surprisingly easy and it can be done for about ten to 15 minutes per door. That alone will make big difference to your music system and some to the road noise. Rear seat removal is usually just 5 minutes on most cars and application of sound deadener takes about another five to ten munutes. Accuracy is not a critical thing cutting out the material.
Same with rear trunk insulation - Just twenty minutes or so for the whole job. Wheel arches a little longer but you don't have to do them to still get a good result. Most of the deadeners are easy to cut with a pair of a scissors and they can be easily rolled on with a hard roller (available from hardware shops) when the backing is removed so they stick themselves.
You will be impressed with the difference just doing that.
If you want you can also do the underbonnet (under hood) area which is also easy and should only take only 10 to 15 minutes.
Underbody spray on sealer/deadener is a little more time consuming and is usually not mandatory if you have separate underbody shields.

I've had a crankcase gas smell in the cabin on hot restart since new. I brought it to the dealer for this issue and the blind spot monitor and surprise, everything was fine to them.
There are rolling hills by my house. I guess the road departure system thinks I'm going off the road because it will randomly slam on the brakes going over the hills. I worry that if someone is behind me I'm gonna get rear-ended. It makes me doubt the safety system if I can go over the same hills 10-20 times with no problem and then on the nth time it will slam the brakes.

@TheLemonFactor Thanks for the reply, and it's interesting how different altitudes can affect things like that. I've actually noticed it since I got it, and I'm only at 4,000 miles. Maybe it just hasn't broken in yet.

What wheel and tire set was on your Accord when you took it cross country? Were they stock wheels and tires?

    • @TheLemonFactor

I was on the optional 19" Honda OEM rims, with Purecontact LS all-season tires in 235 width.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking maybe the stock (non optional OEM) rims would give you better fuel economy on the highway? Maybe your optional OEM rims are heavier or less arrow dynamic? But on the other hand the stock rims and your optional OEM rims are both 19" rims and I am guessing they are the same size tire. @@TheLemonFactor

I have a 2016 Camry and going to this had my own personal gripe as well
    1. Fuel range not separated from the tach. (there is plenty of space in the middle for a fuel range hud)
    2. Bluetooth sucks. Especially calling. You have to reconnect for people to hear u.
    3. Stereo/sound is bad. especially coming from a Camry.

AMAZING car (Have 2.0T Touring), but 2 complaints: TERRIBLE stock sound system (If you really love music, I would say look at a different car or expect a complete sound system upgrade including a DSP, Amp, etc.) and would appreciate it if the tank size was bigger (only 13 gallons); otherwise, its a REALLY good car

@@TheLemonFactor possibly. I will add, in the hifi audio world, typically speakers that sound overly great on first listen typically are boosted in the higher end frequencies. Those high boosted speakers typically sound bad after a few more listens; they fatigue the ear.
