UPDATE No11 THE END TO END LAYOUT

- So getting to the point when the layout will need to be turned over to fit the point changing wires to the underside so in this the work needed to be ready for that and then in Update No12 the deed will be done and turning an 8ft+ layout in a 10ft room could be fun!!
I have just binge watched your end to end layout building. Great stuff Robert I really enjoy watching layout builds and the solutions and creativity people come up with.

Hi Robert. I have to admire your patience and skill with those wires to operate the points. I am not sure I could do that but it would be very handy on my new layout for the terminus station run around.

This is my take (cheap) on doing this way of changing the points but exibition layouts have used this way for years so will have to see how it stands up to use as the wire may be not stiff enough!!! Watch next weeks double upload again to see if it works!!! Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and if you want have a go yourself its not hard to do although getting it right first time as I am doing lessons do need to be learned.

IT'S A Jaaav!!!! Moving on, I took your advice, sort of, nearly. I got an extra coach for my train set 395, 4 car set now😁 I then realise what's wrong with my train set, it's to big to be small & to small to be big, it's all track!
I ran my Wanderer train set, a small 0-4-0 freight set, with extra wagons, running the B12 and 4 clerestories, in the opposite direction. Rip a load of sidings up, & the turntable😱 replacing with scenery. I'll start with some scenery of some sort, buildings, a city backscene, if I can find one?
Had to laugh, those knobs, "pinball powered train set"🤣🤣🤣
Bit late now? Piano wire for the point rodding, and "travel stops" on the wires.
Keep calm and carry on, Train setting, trend setting? Both! 👏👏👍👍

If you operated these knobs as you would on a pinball machine then there would be troubles ahead but as thats not the case will hopefully be fine although in hindsight a stiffer wire may have been a good idea we will have to see!!! As always thanks for watching and your very nice and helpful comments. I always think I have to much track and not enough space for scenics but I like a lot of different possibilitys for running my trains and that is why I do what I do. Two more updates next week to bring us up todate.

Robert this is a really good idea. I like many tried to go down the electric point motor route. But I found that you had to be so precise that any deviation meant the points did not work. I was going to change points by hand but this could be a solution. Mind you not sure I can get the slots in now. Oh well something for future builds.
