  • So with most of the track glued down I left a couple of tracks to show how I do it having never done it before. A walk along the beach again so you can get your seaside moment. Have I had any problems well yes watch near the end to see what they were. To finish what is next for me to do.

      Hi Alberto,

      Hi Anthony,
Yes I like living here a lot its a nice place and I think underated by most but I as usual thank you for watching with your bit of work in the back garden to do and your very nice comments. You are getting there with the work and its looking good it must be a bit frustrating that some of the timber is not good enough and means another trip to the shop but the end of the tunnel is in sight keep stoking the boiler and you will arrive at your destination soon.
      Cheers Robert.

Hi Robert, Im commenting whilst watching, so I may add more shortly. The sidings seem to be taking shape nicely.
You asked about the ballast and stones. The beige ballast looks great, just right. Bit of weathering when you get that far. However, the stones between the tracks look far too big, personally I would move it elsewhere. Id use it on rocky sections where you may have rockfall, or areas where you may see larger rocks. It is ultimately your choice though.
Railmatch has done great job. We have all had alignment issues, but you did good by adjusting track around the new point. Not sure you had enough books holding track though, maybe 3x more lol. Little chuckle there.

      Hi John,
Well I still had two more 5ft shelves of books but I think the legs may have given up and folded lol and in a later video I need to take a bit of track up so how well did it glue down? but thank you for watching and your very nice and helpfull advice just what I need long may it continue. Yes I agree the big ballast was way two big for OO rail ballast and still is here so it will go back in its 1kg bag and await another day!!! I am hoping to mix lots of different color ballasts and washes to get the effect I want ie very black by the coal unloading areas etc keep watching to see how that goes but thats a way of yet. I hope work is ok and another video on your super builds is on the way.
      Cheers Robert.

I'm no expert. I guess there are times when we wish we could wave a magic wand. Then again, I can give this advice: if at first you don't succeed, try again. Rails of Sheffield made me a mouth-watering offer I couldn't refuse. I've bought a new Dapol Bourneville Chocolate Closed Van for just over £11. I'm a sucker for chocolate, I can't resist it. I hope you'll get somewhere eventually. I was surprised to see Cookham Manor on one of the sidings. Bet you put her there so I could gaze at her, unless I'm mistaken. Show me a GWR Manor hard at work, and I'll show you how much I truly love her. I do love seeing her in the opening and closing credits, credit where credit is due.

      Hi Kelly,
The plan was to run the manor coming in but all the rest of the build got in the way (and it still is as she will not be in the next two videos either sorry) but at some stage I will do it so cheers for watching and your very nice comments and that was a good price for a wagon these days and its funny as have just bought two guards vans (Bachmanns) for the price of one from RoS and they are in south east livery.
      Cheers Robert.

Hi Robert the one thing about not knowing something is, learning how to do it your way, it may not be to everyone's satisfaction but it's your way you came up with. You may find you like and come a expert at doing scenery. You may do up stairsas well. I must say it is another avenue to do and be interesting for you. One thing i like is doing buildings, scenery and laying track while i can hear trains run and occasionally see the pass by. I hope your well may friend. And i still wait in anticipation to meet you one day. Colin

      Hi Colin,
What you say is very true what is right for one person may not always be right for you so as long as you enjoy what you are doing thats all that matters. I again thank you very much for watching and your very nice and interesting comments and in the next video on Friday I start the bridge build will what I want to do work?. I am sure one day we will both be in the same place at the same time keep well and building.
      Cheers Robert.

What can i say Robert . At least your having a dam good go at it. A few trial and errors but that`s how we learn . You have come a long way to get to this point in the build. On wards and upwards Robert.

I was about to start gluing my track down, when my LandLord informed me, that he would like to sell these two units that I rent from him. He wants to sell them by November of this year. As they would like to move further south in Thailand. There is nothing glued down and I will not do any gluing. I think then If the baseboard is turned on its side, it will go through the doorway. It does not have any legs fitted yet. It sits on some tables. I am not happy about this situation, but they are their apartments. Good luck with the rest of the building the End to End layout. Martin. (Thailand)

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  3 місяці тому

      Hi Martin,
Well thats a bummer indeed but at least you were not to far in to the build so can relocate so all is not lost and as you say its his property but it is a shame and hope it all works out for you in the end. I do thank you very much for watching and your very sad comments but you do have a few months to keep building the layout just do not do anything that will not come apart after all I took my layout from the dinning room table up to the loft so it can be done however I could not now return it back downstairs so in the loft it will stay. Another on the end to end on Friday when I start the bridge build. Keep well and come up with a plan to relocate the railway when the time comes and if you find some where go no need to wait until November is there.
      Cheers Robert.

Coming along just fine with lots of good ideas and tips. The weather has been just awful as of late stopping me getting on with those out door jobs and walks. However, May is almost upon us so let's hope for much nicer weather for some of those forthcoming transport shows! Cheers Malcolm

Nice one Robert, just goes to show that you can plan as much as you like but often plans don't go to err well plan. Found much the same on my layout but that is all the fun of it.

      Hi,
Yes the best layed plans (if I had any) do not always work out watch next weeks video for the next thing that was not workable but I thank you very much for watching and your very nice comments and I was so sorry your dcc controller went awal and hope you get it back soon but I hope you will use the time to carry on building as what you have done so far is great.
      Cheers Robert.

Coming along nicely, I can see you want to do this right. As Piccadilly mentioned, I thought the white ballast looked too big as well. Annoying about the point dimensions but you got there in the end.

      Hi Roy,
As I said to John far to big as they were for the ballast so will store it away for future use ???? Cheers for watching and your very nice and helpful comments another video next week when the bridge build starts.

      Hi Christian,
Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and I to am going to ballast the tracks but if the board there on is a light color then if the are holes in the ballast you can see the light through it so its just a way of covering all eventual out comes. Hope you are well and enjoying your trains you are keeping busy with your videos well done. Another update on Friday were I start the bridge build.
      Cheers Robert.

The rail grime spray do you recommend it?

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  3 місяці тому

      Hi Deano,
Cheers very much for watching and your very nice comments and in answer to you question yes its done a good job but as I said in the video its nasty stuff so if you use it do it outside not in your shed and I even out there tried to be up wind so it blows away from me a far safer way is with that acrylic paint but takes a bit of time and a bit messy but rather than do it when lose it was better when the track was fixed down so all you need to do now is get building.
      Cheers Robert.
