- A follow on from No16 update the kitbashing of the Metcalf bridge kit did I get it to do what I wanted and seperate the layout from the fiddleyard and did the glue I used for the track laying do this as well and after did I like doing it?
There's nothing wrong with being enthusiastic. It all helps to get the job done. You've done well. I've had my hospital appointment, and sadly the AF thing has come back. I've had to cancel a Liverpool Hospital appointment, because there's no way on earth my Mum and I are gonna get there before 9am, considering the ongoing rail strikes on the main line. I sent the staff an email explaining the situation, and a lady emailed me back to confirm that an afternoon appointment is being arranged, and she was very understanding about me not wanting to attend 3 days before my 42nd birthday, in July. That's what I like about the doctors and nurses, they don't make me do anything I don't fancy doing. They always leave the choice up to me. Don't worry, I'm still alive and steaming.
Hi Kelly,
I am very sorry your news was not as you hoped but hope things do come better for you and if watching our videos helps all the better so cheers for watching and your very nice if what a bit sad comments and its good that you are still living life to the full as much as you can.
Cheers Robert.
What a great update, you are truly a master craftsman,I have really enjoyed watching this video, it’s a great result.
Hi Jean,
That's very kind of you to say so thank you for that and taking the time to watch another update at a later date but the layout is progressing well.
Cheers Robert.
Great job, Robert. It looks very good and a great perspective photo on the bridge. I look forward to the next one.
Hi Duncan,
Not started a new video yet but the layout has progressed so another update will come. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and as I said I enjoyed doing this bring on the others.
Cheers Robert.
Hello Robert
Great video and some really nice kit bashing, The bridge looks spot on nice work Robet.
Hi Deano,
I hope you are recovering well and will be back doing your trains and video's soon so thank you for watching and your very nice comments the layout is progressing and another video will be started soon.
Cheers Robert.
super job Robert, your enthusiasm is infectious as always! great stuff😊
Hi Dave,
Thanks for watching and your very nice & kind comments and as of now I have no next video started as have been busy with sorting out my new computer etc but the layout has progressed so keep watching something will come at some stage. I hope you are well and another layout from you soon?
Cheers Robert.
Fantastic Robert, we'll make a scratchbuilder out of you yet. You are so right, by adding bits, creating bits, modifying bits that's what it all about. Loved the Tony North Eastern style copings as well, I can imagine him doing exactly the same.
May I suggest some tall trees and bushes both sides hiding the line nearest the layout backscene, that way your scenic break on the bridge is more believable.
Hi John,
Yes trees and more trees the piccadilly way and yes it could well work but space may be a problem so get in the backscenes and see or get an artist who can paint the viaduct going into the distance all possible is it not. I as always thank you for watching and your super and helpful comments the next update video is not yet started but the layout has moved on so keep watching and doing this is enjoyable so bring on the other builds. Hope you are finding time to get on with your layout and work is not to overbareing for you.
Cheers Robert.
@@robertstrainset6556 hi Robert, no building as yet, but… hopefully a working 323, just need to DCC fit. Works on DC. If all goes well video tomorrow.
Robert, you have done a really good job of making that bridge. The back scene looks great on top and blends in very well. Metcalfe would like a photo of the bridge. To prove how versatile their kits are. Martin. (Thailand)
Hi Martin,
Cheers for watching and your very nice comments as for Metcalfe wanting a picture I will wait until they contact me!!! but the build is going well another video will come at some stage.
Cheers Robert.
Hello Robert,
What excellent work on the bridge. You did such meticulous work and then came up with some great solutions to awkward pieces or even too short. The photographic backdrops you made, once adjusted, also are quite a cool idea (I have experimented with this myself). Stunning bits of work again! Cheers and take care!
Hi Anthony,
Yes at some stage I will redo the bridge photos but for the moment I want to press on with the build which is going well so now need to start the next video for update 18. I thank you for watching and your very nice comments and I have watched your deck video and must say its a cracking bit of work so well done you say its the end of the video's but maybe a photo when complete with flowers etc would be nice. I hope Joyce and any others of your family that are poorly get better soon.
Cheers Robert.
Great effort on the bridge. I think half the fun of model railroad building is the problem solving.
Hi Richard,
As an older person the problem solving is in a way the most important part as it keeps the mind working so thank you very much for watching and your very nice comments another video will come.
Cheers Robert.
It all looks great. You've given me much to think about with the printed scene on bridge. Great video.
Hi,
Thanks very much for watching and your very nice comments as for the photo's on the bridge not entirely happy with the direction of the rails so may reshot them but not yet a layout to continue building so a video will come but a bit behind on it so keep watching.
Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert, thanks for this update. The bridge as you modified it, in my opinion, looks even better and basically you have to think that you have customized it by transforming it very well and with a great angle of passage for passenger carriages. I like it my friend. I also really like the scenography personalized from one of your photos. Very good rating and a great like.Alberto 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Alberto,
Thank you very much for watching and you very nice comments another update will come or it will when I start doing it but the layout has progressed so keep watching.
Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert…. Nice job on the Bridge bashing….. I really like the effect of your perspective photos of the track. Looks excellent when the bridge is in place.
Regards…. Steve 👍
Hi Steve,
Yes still not sure about the tracks direction on it but will leave for now and get on with the build another update will follow but not started it yet but the layout has progressed. Hope you are getting on ok with dcc'ing your layout its not difficult really and of course I do thank you very much for watching and your very nice comments.
Cheers Robert.
Great job done there Robert , it could be a farmers track going over the railway with some grass and sheep . Just a thought ........Peter
Hi Peter,
As I showed in this a train track will use the bridge so watch the next video when ever that comes to see it. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments hope you are all keeping well.
Cheers Robert.
Never tried a bridge, you have the better of me there, nicely done Robert.
Hi Andy,
Yes enjoyed doing this so now need to start a new video as the layout has progressed so cheers for watching and your very nice comments.
Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert a joiner at work there you can see that. A great build and looking forward to seeing more. Looking forward to seeing you do some scenery, I think you will enjoy doing it. and I like the change from nothing to a scene quite rewarding. Colin
Hi Colin,
Scenic work the little details your right make a huge difference so how much I can do on this one as not a lot of room for it we will have to see but I am progressing but the video is a bit behind as sorting out the "new" computer and other things the time goes so quickly as I am sure you are finding out and I do not work so how you find the time is mind blowing but as usual thanks for watching and your very nice comments keep well and plastering.
Cheers Robert.
@@robertstrainset6556 A new computer that's exciting.
Hey Robert, nicely done great bit of kit bashing to fit your layout. Some good tips for jigs also noted that for future use. 15:56 always time for a cuppa oh yes.
Hi Tony,
The jig was needed as that glue does not take prisoners no wiggle room at all but as long as you work around it you can get on much quicker so thanks for watching and your very nice comments and its great that you have your new controller about time I would say. A bit behind with the next video as have been sorting out the "new" computer but the layout has progressed keep watching.
Cheers Robert.
Great adaptation of the kit Robert looks good
Hi,
Thanks so much for watching and your very nice comments the layout has progressed so a new update will come at sometime.
Cheers Robert.
The Viaduct has worked well and you always seem to solve any problems you have encountered with Great Results. That unwanted stone parapet in your Panasonic backdrop picture could be easily removed using Photoshop Software as there is plenty of green vegetation to "blend it in" Thanks for the recommendation of HI Tack glue - I think I might try some of that because the Rocket glue is a bit runny and very expensive. Cheers for now! Malcolm
Hi Malcolm,
I picked up another bottle of the Hi Tack glue but this one was runner it says on the bottle but as not used it yet not sure how runny so get my original one but you as I did needs to work very fast as no wiggle room at all with it. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and as for the stone in the photo I am not all together happy with the directions of the rails so will probably reshot them anyway. The layout has progressed but not the next video so keep watching one will come later.
Cheers Robert.
Well done that looks great, the way your going I can see you doing a full scenery layout lol
Well done again…Graham
Hi Graham,
Yes I am I think going to scenic the fiddleyard as its another place to film from but the build is going well and another video is in progress. I as usual thank you for watching and your very nice comments.
Cheers Robert.
Nice bit of kit bashing!
Hi Martin,
Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and I enjoyed doing this one so I now have a couple of others that I need to do I will have to see if I still enjoy doing them after there done. Another update is in progress on the works done in the last few days but I have been busy so a bit behind with it but it will come at some stage.
Cheers Robert.
Getting there😁👏👏👍👍
Hi,
Yes indeed and still am although a bit behind now with the next video but one will come so cheers for watching and your very nice comments.
Cheers Robert.
very nice bridge :-) good job
Hi Christian,
Thanks for watching and your very nice comments glad you liked it work is progressing on the layout and another video will come at some time later when I make it.
Cheers Robert.
I new you would surprise us with your idea, could not picture what was in your mind in your previouse video. That view does look quite effective in your test run. Coming along nicely Robert.
Hi Roy,
Thats YT for you others can see what you are doing all part of what we all do so thanks for watching and your very nice comments another update to come but as I have not started it yet may be a little late but the layout itself has progressed and the weather has been kind so press on.
Cheers Robert.
