  • So we have got to the part when I have to fit nearly all the point changing wires in but first the 8ft+ (2440mm+) x1ft6in (450mm) has to be turned over and round in a 10ft (3000mm) x 10ft (3000mm) area how will that go? And where can I put the bottom board why the work takes place? The house next door is it ready for sale and what does it look like after the builders have been in and some of my thoughts on it.

    Hello, Robert!
You have kept at it, and I am so pleased the controls went in and work as designed. I still think the pulls were a brilliant idea and cheers to you for showing it. Obviously, it was a tight job to get to it all, but you work it out and get it done! AN impressive job and good fun to watch! Best wishes and onto the next part this morning.

      Hi Anthony,
Yes it has gone well and seems to work fine and I think that it should work well for the future but if the wires should break the YT'ers have come up with hopefully ways to rectify it. I thank you very well for watching and your very nice comments and hope you like part 13. I have No14 in production and it will be uploaded at a time in the future but I am getting on and have started glueing the track down and as its the first time I have done it taking it easy. Hope you all are keeping well there and enjoying life.
      Cheers Robert.

Those pull point change wires are a great idea. Well done on coming up with that idea. Great to see the progress as it happens also.

      Hi,
Not really my idea as have seen this way of changing points at some of the rail shows I have been to but doing it for not a lot of money may be down to me so cheers for watching and your very nice comments another video (No14) soon.
      Cheers Robert.

Well done Robert, I'm looking forward to seeing how this works, I've thought about doing something similar before but not had the courage. Sounds ambitious to get two points working on one pull so good luck with that. Look after yourself Robert see you on the next one (13) Eddy xx

Always a wrestling match with baseboards and alike. Next door has scrubbed up well... till someone buys it and doesn't like the kitchen... rip rip rip lol.

      Hi Andy,
Not a lot of viewers for the house as far as I can make out but early days the kitchen may work depends who buys it but the bit I do not like is that front door but as always down to indivisual taste. Back to the railway so cheers for watching and your usual very nice comments and it is progressing as started to glue the track down so no going back now.
      Cheers Robert.

We lost our Broadband for a couple of days so I’m a little behind with UA-cam.
Interesting not many viewers for next door , perhaps I should persuade Mel to move to the seaside 😀😲

Hi Robert you do make these videos very interesting to watch. The point system is very tidy and simple less things to go wrong. Does the copper wire go through the hole in the point, been 00 i have no clue how big the hole is. Will be watching the next video tomorrow. Colin

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  3 місяці тому

      Hi Colin,
Thanks for watching and your very nice comments as for the wire it is about 1.5mm thick and it fits some of the points but strangely not all but its not far out so a hand drill sorts it. I have started gluing track down now so a new experience for me will have to see how it all turns out more videos to come but not two by two anymore. Hope you are getting on ok with your "little" build so far looks
      great.
      Cheers Robert.

Really enjoyed that Robert. Ive seen the system used elsewhere, but never seen it installed. Fancinated especially by those fittings with the rotational units. All going very well.

      Hi John,
First I hope you are on the mend but I do also thank you very much for watching and your very nice comments and although I am pleased with my point changing system it is nowhere near as good as your train lift you did all those years ago we do need to keep our work in propective with others I think. I am now starting to glue track down and that is a first for me I hope it works.
      Cheers Robert.

@@robertstrainset6556 Hi Robert, use PVA and weight it down, even food tins do the job, that way you can just soak it should it ever need to come up. My lift is OOOO KKKK, but it will be modified and refurbished in the future. We each build what we need for our layouts and what is suitable. I love the simplicity of your point system, remember I am design trained with BA hons degree, we were always told, over and over, keep it simple. Easier to repair if the need requires.

      @@piccadillymodelrailwaysHi John,
Thanks for the reply I am using that Coppidex type glue I showed in an earlier video and its working well as for weights using table mats and RD books as have loads of them. I am still awaiting that return call when you get better if you have time.
      Cheers Robert.

You're a hard worker and a good railwayman. I've lots of faith in you. If no-one else does, that's a pity. I don't like to say what I'm watching is boring, because of the opening and closing credits. What I'd do without Cookham Manor and Earl of St. Germans to Whistle at Me, I don't know.
    Love me or leave me,
Make your choice but believe me:
    I love you,
    I do, I do, I do, I do, I do.
