I was feeling Cassius on this episode. You're thinking "Wow, there is just no way I'm getting back in this game" and sure enough, a few turns later your board state is looking prime.
Marky Mark wait.. sorry if im assuming but it sounds like you dont think he has won. But he has. He won in his first episode when they were playing with Commander Anthology and he was piloting Kaalia’s deck.
Even coming back to this a year and a half later i LOVE this game of commander. As Kyle said there was just such a good back and forth "on the edge of your seat" feel to this game the entire time, and that clutch miscalculation at the end was just such a perfect twist ending.

Craig Blanchette then took over podcast video editing responsibilities after Terry switched to Game Knights. Check out the video on their channel that takes you behind the scenes of Game Knights production.

I assumed that DJ would take his place in Game Knights as well. The video would have been even better if it had been Josh, Cassius, Kyle and DJ. The chemistry would have been amazing.
A little sad to not see Jimmy on this new episode of Command Knights, but I’m glad to hear it’s not because he was let go but rather he’s working on something important. Can’t wait to see what it is! Man Kyle is working his way around all the Magic shows it seems, I just watched his Spellslingers episode this morning and here he is on Game Knights! Awesome sauce!
Wow - I LOVE this channel. As a Magic player who started in 1994, and then had a bunch of years away from the game, this is by far an incredible resource. I wish that Wizards of the Coast would have this kind of quality coverage for Tournament play. The way this is presented is brilliant - showing you guys playing a game of Commander (the format I can't wait to try with my 9-year old son Gilad this weekend) and giving commentary about the moves you are making. I can't thank you enough for all the work and effort and love that goes into making these videos. Just know that you guys have a new loyal fan here. Thanks!
Aminatou is my favorite of the four, there is something adorable about a eight year old planeswalker who could see that she would one day become a planeswalker and decided that she didn't want to wait, so she sparked right then and there.
Wrong, the answer is "bouncing your mulldrifter with a cloudstone curio trigger from a token copy of it created by bramble sovereign/riku's trigger, after evoking it, to draw 4+1 cards for 5 mana while getting a free 2/2 flying token"
Huge respect for Josh for being nice to Kyle early on. Mel and Cassius were relentless to him. First Mel attacks him, then steals his only thing right off the bat, attacks him again, then Cass gets upset with Kyle for destroying everything despite the fact that Mel had a huge board and was about to Ultimate. And when Mel said "i'm gonna swing at the guy who has no blockers" I think she really meant "the guy I've been picking on all game" because Josh didn't have any blockers either. In fact, his commander was wide open. I love Cassius and Mel, especially Cassius, but they were being a little to oppressive to Kyle early game. Good on you Josh for at least giving him a chance to get into the game.
I've been a huge fan of the command zone and game knights for a while now. You guys have inspired me to grow as a magic player and really just get out there and try some new fun decks and interactions with other players. this is my favorite game knights episode. I have the Windgrace deck and my wife has Estrid. ive made a few modifications of my own and hers is still out of the box.
I started watching Game Knights this week, and what I love the most is that I learn the political aspect a lot. I'm quite bad at making deals at the table in general, and always fall for the same tricks. Especially the commentary in between actions is super useful for me. Thanks for making a great show!
Kinda funny hearing them talk about how much they love the yearly commander precons with the perspective of there having been like 24 of them released this year alone. Times have certainly changed.
An all-star game with Kyle, Mel, and Cassius, in addition to the stalwart Josh! Love these folks and the fun they have and give to viewers. Y'all rock!
Look at Mel's face just seconds later and it may get pushed to second best.... ua-cam.com/video/7QsXbFidcv8/v-deo.htmlh7m43s Can't do the damn link properly haha!
Chris Maness, in all honesty, and nothing against Jimmy, but I hope he doesn't come back. I hope the best for him, and I hope he sticks around the MTG community, but he's seemed bored and his relationship with Josh has seemed strained. I agree 100% about JC/DJ.
Yeah :D. In my experiences it is better to save your big good stuff and wait til most board wipes are out. And with 4 Players there are many, but it's never easy in Commander to know what you play when. Esp. for me it's difficult to know who to attack.
A 12/12 mana dork legend? Well I finally found my general for a sea beast deck... time to quote Liem Neason and .... UNLEASH THE KRAKEN! Kraken, leviathan, and octopus oh my...
Same here. The moment I saw Arixmethes, I knew I was building a deck with it, though my deck was more focused around giving it 21+ power and making it unblockable for a one-hit kill.
This is by far my favorite magic episode so far! It is not just the game, but the player interaction! It's like even though I am not playing Magic.... I am playing magic!!!!
But WHYYYYY did he never put a Mask on Estrid, THE MASKED?! It's right there on the card that a Mask has enchant permanent and totem armor. THAT is how Estrid protects herself.
@Emily Smith nope. Read Estrid. You have to enchant _another_ target permanent with the mask. Double nope actually. Since even if you could, giving Estrid Totem Armor only protects her from a "destroy" effect. Attacking her with a creature would still cause loyalty counters to be removed and a planeswalker with zero loyalty counters is put into it's owner's graveyard independent of being destroyed. So it would've been a very subpar play in the very least.
First video of yours I've seen, and I did it because Kyle was here. The production value is incredible, I like that you show the whole game with close ups of each card played, its just great. You have a new subscriber sir. Well done.

i agree with Cassius. It's not o much "my planeswalker died" its "Josh stop telling people to kill my stuff!"
You need a game with the professor and Kyle. That would be really cool
Mel is always a treat. She's such a great political player
That was insane. Slow start with all the board wipes but wow that got really intense by the end.
Y'all rock!
1:07:13 - 1:07:23 best 10 seconds in the video and that is saying a LOT bc this was full of great moments.
Look at Mel's face just seconds later and it may get pushed to second best.... ua-cam.com/video/7QsXbFidcv8/v-deo.htmlh7m43s
Can't do the damn link properly haha!
That Aminatou deck is a lot of fun. With miracle cost cards, things can get out of hand really quickly.
Things are getting out of library in this case 🙃
How long before we see JumboCommander on Game Knights? That'd be sick.
Jack Buttery it's terribly disappointing that he wasn't in this episode.
Would much rather see DJ on this than Kyle Hill. He has made the CZ better, why not give him the spot?
Yeah. I totally agree, plus I like him more than Kyle (I dont like him)
Chris Maness, in all honesty, and nothing against Jimmy, but I hope he doesn't come back. I hope the best for him, and I hope he sticks around the MTG community, but he's seemed bored and his relationship with Josh has seemed strained.
I agree 100% about JC/DJ.
Watching this a few years later. I can't believe how amazing these decks were! Kyle's deck was crazzzy!
One of my fav episodes eve, kyle and cash having that charisma and spark with mel and josh was perfect.
They have sparks? Nice. What’s their favourite plane?
One of the best game knights episodes.Kyle is amazing
nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
Kyle: WORMS, WORMS EVERYWHERE
The quality of the video production is incredible. Wow! Thanks a lot!
Man, I enjoy Kyle and Cassius, we need an episode with Josh, Jimmy, Kyle, and Cassius!
Wondering why Mel played Unwinding Clock instead of Saheeli on turn 2. Made no sense to me.
scarrboros maybe she had an instant she wanted ready with Sol Ring?
Yep there are many colorless instants out there xD. One I believe.
Fair point river films. Tbh she was probably just super excited to untap her Sol ring on everyone's turns and didn't think.
Yeah :D. In my experiences it is better to save your big good stuff and wait til most board wipes are out. And with 4 Players there are many, but it's never easy in Commander to know what you play when. Esp. for me it's difficult to know who to attack.
Awesome guests! That Kyle and Cassius dynamic was intense! And watch it until the end - the match is awesome.
A 12/12 mana dork legend? Well I finally found my general for a sea beast deck... time to quote Liem Neason and .... UNLEASH THE KRAKEN! Kraken, leviathan, and octopus oh my...
He's a prime commander for a Kaiju deck
Quest for ula's temple in that deck
Same here. The moment I saw Arixmethes, I knew I was building a deck with it, though my deck was more focused around giving it 21+ power and making it unblockable for a one-hit kill.
Commander Quarters has a great deck tech for this guy.
Fun episode.
Loved all the guests would love to see any or all them again.
Thank you The Command Zone.
Petition to get Cassius to voice Aminatou in the upcoming Magic TV show
cassius just sitting back and whispering yes sir in the beginning of the game💀💀💀
Aminatou 2nd place?
Straight out of the box?
I'm happy for that. She so different and so cool.
Dear god, please make Kyle permanent lol. I need more Kyle Hill magic in my life :D
Justin Fracchia I’m game - KH
You want Kyle to be a creature, enchantment, artifact or a land?
fieldy409 he would be a legendary human wizard (or artifice maybe?) :)
Did you catch I asked what kind of permanent he'd be? lol
fieldy409 maybe he’d be a planeswalker?
This is by far my favorite magic episode so far! It is not just the game, but the player interaction! It's like even though I am not playing Magic.... I am playing magic!!!!
Your production value on these are so much better than anything else ive seen on youtube. Great work.
26:07, The saddest expression in the history of your channel XD
more games with Magician Cassius please, also make a seccond "behind the scenes" game!
my favorite Knight, Marsh, playing the deck i want to get. this really is Commander Christmas!
But WHYYYYY did he never put a Mask on Estrid, THE MASKED?! It's right there on the card that a Mask has enchant permanent and totem armor. THAT is how Estrid protects herself.
@Emily Smith
nope.
I am a relative newcomer to MTG at the ripe old age of 46 , my nephew introduced me to it. I own one of the 2018 decks and have ordered a second.
First video of yours I've seen, and I did it because Kyle was here. The production value is incredible, I like that you show the whole game with close ups of each card played, its just great. You have a new subscriber sir. Well done.
I guess you can say Kyle... Wormed his way to victory?
Lovly
OOOOMMMMGGGGG 😂
