Can't wait to see y'all there!
The battle to decided who came up with profile pictures that change when you take damage
Cant wait to se my absolute favorite Magic content creator!
Great game.
I bought tickets not knowing this was part of the con. Wow. I hope there's room in the theater.
Come for the award winning science UA-camr EDH battle, stay for the inexplicable Sliders (1995) monologue
Hey, that was a great show! What if there was a world where the Russians won the Cold War? Or where San Francisco was a maximum state penitentiary? Or where you’re a rock and roll star? It makes you think.
How do you feel about the title of "yassified John Wick"?
@dungeonsanddaddies SLIDERS!
@@TolarianCommunityCollege I actually think it's a little unfair to say only the first season was good. Season 2 was decent also (actually I watched all 5 but I won't pretend the show didn't have a downward slope)
@@TolarianCommunityCollege Seasons 1 and 2 are so good. 3... Has it's moments. Just don't bother with 4 and 5.
If they ever let me back on this show I will be smuggling in as many broken cEDH cards as possible.
And then we'll see who gets cooked.
(it'll be Kyle)
Say when
Tierzoo thoracle consultations on turn 2 next episode
Yeah bro you got robbed, lol
Revenge is a dish best served comboed!
you look like reid duke
Calling Kyle "Dollar Store Thor" is hilarious
Kyle 'Olivia wished I was Kibler' Hill
ROFL
Had to pause the video!
Yeah came out swingin as usual.
I wish I can buy a Thor in dollar store.
My moment was when he called Spice8Rack "Yassified John Wick" 💀💀💀
I kind of look like if you forgot to take Kibler our of the dryer here
You did look like you just touched a van de graaff generator.
I'd let you do vile things to me
Still a better love story than twilight.
Meanwhile, I look like if Kibler melted.
It’s all the radiation from your Fukushima visit 😂
Thank you so much for having me!!
I’m touched I somehow missed getting roasted in the first 7 minutes of the video 😂
I just watched your video on getting friends into MTG. Thinking about what elements of MTG they might enjoy the most should not have been a revelation to me. 😂
I hope we can see you again! This episode was great, and part of that, in my opinion, was because of your fun and bright attitude. It's good to have a player who naturally "desalts" the table, as watching the game is much more enjoyable when it' s clear people are having fun! Great episode, great guests.
oh its you its cool seeing you here. I saw your Taylor Swift video
I'm so glad you were on this one! I hope to see you in more game play episodes! Your positive energy is amazing every time I see your videos, and it shows here as well. I also didn't know until this episode about your field and i find that fascinating!
This whole thing made me laugh but having Voxy and Kibler up there and you saying "to popular Hearthstone streamer, Voxy" nearly made me spit out my coffee
Hey, her Hearthstone content is top notch!
Didn´t she just learned hearthstone like half a year ago?
@@RockmeHellsing That's the joke
As soon as I saw left Prof sip the bottle of Sriracha, I was reminded to smash that like button.
Thank you for smashing that like button! ;p
I have found my next drink bottle for life...
same xd
@TolarianCommunityCollege
Thank you for making shuffle up and play ❤
I will now forever say “move to win-step” whenever I win a game of commander.
likewise, such a boss move
The Command Zone parody at the beginning had me dying.
The Sriracha got me wheezing (Rat Tunneler?) when I noticed it. And others catching strays at the beginning was pure comedy as well.
howzit howzit howzit
I’m waiting for the eventual rebuttal. Because it will be hilarious.
I'd love to see them on here.
@@path2plowshares274 I'm waiting for an entire Command Zone episode where the only thing Jimmy says "Reading the Card Explains the Card"
Anna Margaret was such a ray of sunshine, I hope she gets invited again for more games!
I wish she had talked more about her field.
"I'm award winning science educator and what Olivia wishes brian looks like, Kyle Hill"
The confidence in that statement alone
it had me dying, i laughed so hard for nearly 20min i had to pause video x,D
I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THST QUOTE HAHAHAHAHS
I need to know Olivia's reaction
That killed me, NGL
who is Olivia and who is Brian?
Bring back TierZoo he understands how to have fun with EDH. Very creative interactions beyond "I'm winning more now".
The opening skit alone earned the like and comment. The game is a nice bonus!
Thank you for the like and the comment!
That was pure comedy gold, love it.
Beginning of the game: Can't be too mean, but don't want to lose.
Middle of the game: I tutor into an infinite combo before the game gets too interesting.
End of the game: My threat assessment won me the game!
😂😂😂 Well, I have learned the hard way about becoming too threatening too quickly. It mever ends well for me.
The natural draw of Felidar Guardian does make tutor for Kiki-Jiki the obvious play. The only way to prevent Rocco from being a combo deck is to play a different commander.
Prof Lee Kwai and Jimmy Prof are my favourite hosts
howzit
I suspected this is a jab on Jimmy and Josh even before he actually said there names. Glad to see I was right
Prof Lee kwai is such a good play on words or whatever
Love how Anna clearly knows the most about lotr of anyone here and is slowly dying whenever someone else gets things wrong
TierZoo + TCC? What a weird crossover 😂
I love it
I know first Gotham chess now this. kinda awesome
as weird as post malone and prof?
@@x000einfinity000xWho did Levy cross over with? I must have missed something
@@Tragic_Idiot Levi taught tierzoo chess like a year or so ago
It's so strange to see TierZoo's actual in-game avatar instead of him being a floating disembodied voice
So glad to see Brian Kibler again on Shuffle Up!
I did not expect that tierzoo could be even more likable than he already was. I love tierzoo's content, it brings joy to my heart and seeing him be such a cool dude makes him even more sympathetic!
Fantastic parody of Game Knights and the fact that the Prof is more than ok with self depreciation is great, because you’ve gotta be ok laughing at yourself from time to time. And love the continual return of the Kyle Hill/Brian Kibler meme.
Fun animal fact: every third bite you eat depends on pollination from a insects like bees. So please consider becoming a beekeeper.
Tier Zoo popping up in my favorite UA-camr’s videos is such a funny series to me. First it was Overly Sarcastic Production, then Valefisk, now it TCC
I am inevitable
@@TierZoohow am I only seeing your face now in an mtg video of all places
@@TierZoo Don’t forget about geilinor games lol
When did OSP play magic on this channel?
Genetically modified Skeptic too.
Kyle brought a powered down CEDH deck to a casual pod and then has the audacity to sit on his throne and claim threat assessment as his secret weapon lmao
they are all playing with high powered decks what are you complaining about,
When i first read your comment i thought hey let see what there running turn out there all high powered decks with lower mana costs all of them have really good cards.all of the are around the same power level
He brought out a 2 card combo for game, what were you watching? That was completely unfair.
@@davies250No. Nazgûl tribal, cats and dogs, and Flumpf group hug is absolutely no match for fast-mana-less CEDH.
@@davies250 I don't like necroing, but you are just flat out wrong. The other decks were extremely casual and I AM SURE that if the professor thought Kyle was playing easy combos then he would have grabbed his own Norn. We are talking about 4 players playing for the memes and a deck that smokes 90% of the decks ever played on this show. I didn't say "beats", because this is way above casual. Playing a tutorable combo deck with esper sentinel is leagues above casual play.
Other Professor drinking Sriracha straight from the bottle speaks to my soul, you go king
Wondered if it is a reference to "I hate your deck"
The other profession's power level is too high. He needs to be contained.
Small misplay at 46:57, is the Undercover Operative comes into play as a copy of Volrath, then it is a 7/5 Nazgul and survives the Elesh Norn, all the counters still happens, AND still has Volrath's Copy Ability with counters, and returns to being a Nazgul instead of Volrath when the effect ends. Silly fun interaction.
I feel like Dollar Store Brian Kiblers deck was not very well balanced compared to the others at the table. Two card infinite, a lot of tutors, Elesh Norn next to Glunsh… I feel sorry for Patch!
yeah tutoring in an infinite is about the lamest thing you can do
tutors in general go against the spirit of singleton format
I’m addicted to this series. For the longest time I didn’t understand commander, but thanks to this series I finally get it.
Kyle is never getting invited back to commander at home
Was great seeing UA-camrs from other niches playing Magic with you. Awesome stuff!
Found this series this week, I’ve watched so many episodes already and it’s help get me back into magic and my fiancé is going to play their first game tonight!
DON'T DO IT!
I love the banter between award winning science educator "the professor" and his nephew Kyle
Having homeboy neuter his deck and remove the combo, then having Kyle play a deck built around tutoring combos puts a pretty large asterisk next to his win.
omg TIERZOO!!! I LOVE THIS GUY'S CONTENT! Awesome to see him here!
TierZoo got robbed for real, he was just trying to make friends while Prof and Kyle were at each other's throats from turn zero
I was already considering going to Chicago but now I 100% need to get my jank ready
You spelled junk wrong
@@rustknuckleirongut8107 "jank" (in MTG speak) is slang for a deck that's built around a cool, powerful combo, but the deck is built poorly / unreliably.
@@hebercluff1665 I know that. It was a joke where junk is used in its genital meaning
@@rustknuckleirongut8107 ah. My bad. Haha
Kyle's Rocco list is extremely close to just a cedh list
It’s a shame because I really enjoyed the cast/episode and didn’t want it to end. Not as fun when one person brings a tutor in the command zone with two card combos
@@caseyfurey1348 yeah that was lame as fuck, the game seemed like it would get interesting and that discount viking larper just won out of nowhere with the lamest infinite copy kiki jiki combo, such a shame
I couldn't finish the episode. He was just so cringe the entire time.
Discount viking larper bahahaha
It was a lame ending to the match. But if prof had played the correct choice and just cloned Elesh Norn, that combo wouldn't have been possible. A lot of shuffle up and play videos come down to bad threat assessment strategic misplays and "you hit me so i have to hit you" banter
Go Anna Margaret!!!! ❤
That's not nice. She can stay.
always happy to see Anna Margaret. fastly becoming one of my favourite youtubers
I feel like we need to take a minute and appreciate "I'm [...] what Olivia wishes Brian looked like, Kyle Hill".
Jesus christ. XD.
Wow, one of the only ads I have never skipped is this intro. The freeze frame of Professor 1 and Professor B, the self-depricating humour of who Professor will lose and the strong script and landing the ending.
I love how Patch was just trying to team up and do some fun stuff while everyone else was just progressively creating a more ridiculous amount of creatures
I so badly want to see a compilation of all the guests who’ve shamelessly stared at their opponents opening hand ! 😂
been waiting to see this one! Let's go Anna Margret!
We need a prof training montage for Game Knights live
Awesome, I love TierZoo! Great seeing the guy behind it playing magic!
I loved the opening, like everyone else, I loved everything except the ending. When games end in that way especially with tutors it always feels like a bit of a damp squib of a note to end on.
Just my take and I really enjoyed the episode overall!
Apiarists are those who tend to bees, specifically the long-tonged bees of the family Apidae. To include wasps and other similar insects you would probably need to reference the superfamily Apoidea. So maybe you would more appropriately be an Apoidist...?
46:30 Prof can choose Operative to copy the Volrath Nazgul instead of Spark Nazgul, if he do so it won't die because the 7/5 from Volrath copy ability is copiable value.
Also if Operative was copying the 1/2 Nazgul, it will die before the ring tempts you trigger resolved, thus only Spark Nazgul and Volrath Nazgul will trigger from the rings tempt you (2 counters each instead of 3).
The level of Howzits in that opener had me laughing so hard! 😂 😂And it only kept getting better! Great episode everyone! Would love to watch live in Chicago! ❤
In our play group, when a player drops an unfun combo like Kyle Hill did and wins, we just 'Play for Silver'. That player is out of the game and, b/c our board states are still the same, we just keep playing. Sure they won, but they don't get to have fun and everyone else just keeps on playing.
Based
that's a GREAT solution to that problem!! It's so simple I might even remember it!
Playing EDH meanwhile Kyle playing CEDH
Very watered down cEDH.
But still still cedh not max level cedh but still cedh.
@@thetimebinder he just took out his manabase, playing basics instead. The rest of the deck was almost card for card a popular cEDH Rocco list
Yeah, like dropped a 2 card combo for game and acted all top shit. Fuck Kyle
Anna had cats, tierzoo had glunch, professor had nazgul janktime. Kyle Hill is an absolute loser for this.
I love the command zone skit
Anna, what are you up to?
Anna: Oh nothing just building an army of cats.
kyle: 👀👀
Tierzoo is such a cool channel. I feel kinda dumb since I've only been watching it the last couple months, and after I watched that first video, I was hooked;
so happy to see Gluntch!!! Its great to see this deck in action. i love the art and abilities of that card.
cEDH channel Play to Win's list of rules for Casual Commander deck construction:
* NO infinite loops
* NO "I win right now" cards
* NO mana-positive rocks (except Sol Ring)
* NO land producing more than one mana
* NO tutors less than 3 mana cost
* NO free counterspells
* NO card priced over $100
Needless to say, Kyle's $2700 Rocco deck fails to meet multiple casual EDH guidelines. Nevertheless, last year the Play to Win gang invited Kyle over for a round of Casual Commander: ua-cam.com/video/xAnyX-We3eY/v-deo.html
True to form, Kyle plays a $1400 cEDH deck with Karn, Legacy Reformed (add one mana for each artifact), a 5-drop commander he slips into play after tapping only 3 mana(!) The guys let this blunder pass (cuz hey, it's just "casual" right?), after which Kyle drops the rest of his hand into play. He soon casts notorious stax artifact Ward of Bones, which prohibits others from playing more creatures, artifacts, enchantments, or lands than Kyle has in play. Next turn, he casts a Strip Mine and proceeds to create an infinite loop with a zero-cost Sensei's Divining Top, which he exploits to draw 15 cards at once, ending the game with Aetherflux Reservoir.
IMO, the only way this episode fell short of perfection was in failing to rechristen the show: "Pay to Win with Kyle Hill".
A few highlights:
$120 - Metalworker
$200 - Mana Crypt
$280 - Grim Monolith
Drag him.
You just sound like a bit of a salty bitch.
Thanks. Yea, I have only seen him twice on this channel. I do not like that all of his decks want to go infinite.
Lots of casual tables have decks that go infinite. Games gotta end sometime.
@@1rishninjamy power 8 deck has the same combo hill did
I unironically love the facts sprinkled through the game
Wasn't expecting to learn Tierzoo played magic today
My first Magic Con is about to be the best one!! I can't wait to see you on Game Knights Live!
TierZoo is such a unique channel, I Love his videos!
TierZoo has a face? And he plays Commander? What a pleasant surprise!
The suits Prof wears are by far the best I've ever seen. True class 👏
How did this episode evade me for a whole ass year? This is delightful.
I'm so happy that Prof stayed on flavor for his deck but it's kind of funny that if he had done that one play then the game would not have been able to end how it did.
Prof did really well with the doppelganger effect in the intro. Imagine doing that for a commander game? That would be really hard i bet.
The Prof’s English degree origin story is exactly what happened to me. Science is cool but it’s also very difficult and lots of numbers and English is pretty chill.
Ok, I love how we went from "You guy's don't know Sliders?" (I loved sliders btw) to that big "Rocco's modern life" burn was absolutely hilarious.
It bums me out so much when a cool game of commander ends abruptly with an infinite combo. Bonus bummer points for Kyle tutoring for the combo piece.
That's an intro. You went crazy there for a sec, I loved it. Wish you kept the gimmick going for an interview of the players, but I can't fault you for stopping there. Kudos to everyone involved.
Ah yes the Prof’s signature catchphrase: “Howzit?!”
Move to win step is crazy. I love it. Such a well executed flex.
Nice Twin Peaks reference Prof! Making The Bookhouse Boys proud
38:47 i like how she asked to make a treasure instead of the cat she made, only to have turned it into a cat immediately anyway
Such an anticlimactic way to win a game, a bit disappointed because the majority of the other episodes really lived off of genuine gameplay. Nonetheless, the banter was fun, the random facts really enriched this episode and the unique decks really gave me new ideas for commander.
I love when I get to see the folks from the command zone appear on the channel. Good to see you Josh.
Kyle Hill is the one person at the party who everyone eye rolls about and who never gets invited again
I’m so surprised more people aren’t hating on him lol. I don’t hate him but he’s so obnoxious sometimes
I'm glad I'm not the only one I do not like him
Absolutely loved that intro from the Professor and the Professor
Thank you TierZoo for quietly knowing Lord of the Rings lore and correcting everyone else🤣
Love hearing Patch kick into his narrator voice when talking about wasps!
TierZoo plays Magic?! The crossover i didn't know I needed!
You are seriously such an inspiration to me, I hope I can somehow work up the courage and money to come see you play live! Go Team Tolarian!!!
That one guy's sense of humor does not jive with me
I'm so happy to hear that you will be at Magiccon! I was already excited to go, now I'm so much more!
I do feel like Kyle Hill took most of the time talking and, not being fan of self-depreciative and sometimes almost agressive jokes, I couldn't enjoy the episode as much as I expected. Also, having the only deck as the table which is : "tuto from deck combo pieces to insta-win", felt very disappointing when everybody seemed to have a fun deck for multiplayer. Between prof and his "i could copy elesh norn but really i will stick to all nazgul" to Anna Margaret being "i like cats ! let's do cats !" and Tier Zoo having a gluntch deck that I was talking about just before watching the show as one of the group hug commander i would really enjoy to play, there were lots of fun things. Seeing "tuto -> esper" into "tuto combo kiki-jiki / felidar guardian" was just... yeah ok you win. But what I most got was the "i play to win" / "my commander seems to hate everything and i relate to this" vibe. Also felt like with how much he talked, loudly, and gathered all the attention, that other people at the table couldn't express things they wished to. I also love when people talk about what they like, so I did really appreciate people talking about their passions and past, and I wish it was more encouraged by everybody. I love seeing people having a good time together and finding other people who like them sharing what they like.
So yeah, not personal, in that I don't know Kyle Hill at all and he may be a wonderful person, but this episode I was excited to watch with friends turned out to leave a kind of bitter feeling at the end. I hope other people enjoyed it though and most of all that all people playing it did too.
I'm right with you and there are a lot of comments also stating similar discomfort with his behavior.
Yeah considering the prof made tierzoo remove his combo piece's from his deck.
Hey Prof, where did your evil twin the Tolarian Instructor go? We'd all love to see their vile ass again. As always love the content and glad to have you as a leader of our community. Keep up the awesome work!
The way he just dogs that sriracha bottle💀💀💀💀💀
I loved the start of this episode 😂 idk if your making a parody of Game Knights but that’s what I assume that was super funny
Love Gluntch! So excited to see others playing him!
There's so many level of jokes in that intro! the double prof combo should a recurring thing. Great stuff
Kyle seemed like he brought a way stronger deck and then was looked angry throughout the game and was antagonistic as a winner. I haven't ever watched his show but not a great look imho.
That opening alone deserves applaud and award, that was brilliant.
0:51 feels like gif bait if i have ever seen it
1:15 I’m HOWLING at the parody intro, when prof swigs the siracha lordy
Oh wow crazy Kyle won with a fast-mana-less cedh deck with a two card win-con wow so interesting
Yay, I know I’m late to the party, but seeing so many brilliant faces is amazing!
kyle hill is so unimaginably insufferable
AAAAAAA-MEN to that!
"Hows it?!" "Dollar Store Thor" I'm dying in the first minutes already.
And a Motherf*cking Twin Peaks reference? I'm sold!!!!
Amazing as always
This is definitely a Top 10 episode, without question. The intro? Amazing. The truth bombs about Sliders? Fantastic. Kyle Hill being Kyle Kill? Toasty.
Kyle Hill is a menace and I love it. The facts and illustrations were an awesome addition.
