    For those folks who can’t afford to buy the products mentioned, or similar, fear not. The same benefits can be achieved by using spices that you probably already have in your pantry or fridge. Every spice used in curry blends is a curcuminoid, but they won’t do much good unless black pepper is added to it; it holds the chemical compound that unlocks the anti-inflammatory goodness contained in the rest of the ingredients. Oily fish (or fish oil capsules, if you can afford them) have Omega 3 fatty acids that also help reduce inflammation. Flax/chia/hemp seed meal also contains Omega 3s. Apple cider vinegar works to balance bodily pH, which also helps. Honey… well, that’s just good for everything! I throw all these kinds of things into my dog’s food, in general, but it has proved to be extremely beneficial after having had TPLO surgery. I sent the vet some footage of my dog walking, two weeks post-op (she had to have two surgeries after the bone-saw ceased functioning as soon as he started cutting so he had to sew her up and get her in - the next week - after the spare part had been delivered). He’s seeing her again in a couple more weeks but his return email to me said we’d talk about rehabilitation for her “if needed”, which shows me that the regimen that I’m administering (along with keeping her off her feet as much as possible through 24/7 care) is working well, on top of her once daily dose of Metacam. Here’s the footage of her walking. Note her weight-bearing on all four appendages, which is why I’ll let you know it’s her left, hind leg that was operated on: share.icloud.com/photos/04-m0ctgQczXdt7e-PRrt5Lqg#Home
    I’ve also learned that apple skin also has anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a good job that Amber likes apples, too 😁❤️

      Is the black pepper not too spicy and hot for them?

    • @lindajohnson9282
      @lindajohnson9282 2 роки тому +2

      @@kathidori8504, if you use black pepper on/in your own food and your dog eats bits of what you eat - and there’s no adverse reaction - it’s fine. You don’t use any of the herbs/spices as you would when cooking for yourself. My dog seems to be immune to pepper of all kinds as well as chilli. While trying to teach her and her sister to keep out of the kitchen, I put a line of ground black pepper on the carpet where it meets the kitchen tiles. I was sneezing a bit but, even after sticking their noses right in it, they remained completely unaffected. I heard a myth about Dobermanns having that trait but thought it was nonsense, but it seems it’s quite true hahahaha. As for the rest of her food, I have researched the needs of her breed and she has either beef, lamb, chicken or turkey mince (any/all of them in any given batch of food), any orange vegetable, cruciferous vegetables (cabbage/cauliflower etc.) and collared greens. I sometimes put a few eggs in with it but I use whole flax seeds to help naturally express her anal glands, and the seed meal is a substitute for wheat flour, for thickening the stew/casserole (I like to make sure that there’s some moisture in her food for her gut’s sake, too). She needs about 60% meat to 40% vegetable matter in her food, and the vegetables have to be very well cooked so that she gets any nutritional value from it, although the roughage is always a good thing, too.
      But you know your dog’s preferences and the worst thing that can happen is that you make a small batch and your baby won’t like it. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. Here’s to everyone’s good health and happiness ❤️

    I had tight muscle spasms & intense nerve pain in my cervical spine. I asked Doc if he offered alternatives to pills to ease chronic pain? He had a pharmaceutical grade CBD salve. The brand is Viridipharm, 1500mg, 2oz, eucalyptus & lavender scented, cost $85. To avoid waste & massage into tissue, apply a tiny amount with back of a stainless spoon. In two minutes intense pain is 90-95% relieved! No side effects, lasts 2 to 3 hours & has a pleasant scent. With constant use, a tube lasts 3 months. Less than $1/day is money well spent to control pain.

      CBD is not marijuana, it does not contain THT. It comes from a different species, referred to as hemp. One of my dogs has seizures when I don't give him enough CBD oil.

      simhi free I had a geriatric dog with neuro issues who developed seizures. Nothing they gave me worked (I didn’t have any CBD) in desperation I grabbed an ice pack or peas one time and placed it on his back. The seizure stopped. It’s what I did from then on for him. It was free so my vets didn’t know about it.

    "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 "for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13
