Exactly. I won't let my kids watch them either. So many of my kids friends love Ryan and all these kid bloggers and it's just so sad... I've been against it since the Daddy o 5 incident. And THAT, just like this, was right in everyone's faces. I've got a feeling that a lot of these views are just little kids, watching these things like it's normal. My kids get MAYBE an hour of UA-cam a day and I sit with them and make sure they only watch certain channels and videos for these reasons. You just never know.. Not to mention how so many kids are walking around with the same attitudes that these parents and kids have nowadays, thinking having mansions and personal bounce houses and giant pools and everything is just normal.
Even if the parents aren’t abusive, family flogging inexcusably exploits children, in my opinion. It’s similar to forcing children to be child actors, and often scars them for life. It also invades their privacy and makes a permanent public record of them as children.
Its not only that. Daily family vlogging is, at its core, ethically and morally wrong to do to children. It needs to be regarded as child exploitation worldwide and UA-cam needs to demonitize channels that overexposed children to the public.

Their names are on the police documents that were released; but the couple has indicated they don’t want too much public attention. In general, it appears most media reports now are honoring that desire by not saying their names.

I think it probably was a decision and results more fraught w/ unsure feelings on his part rather than 'pure relief,' bc ppl who are abused will be convinced by their abusers that they deserve the abuse and not to be helped.

One correction: Jodi is NOT a psychologist. She has said that she is but in reality she's far from it. Jodi does not have the academic degrees, clinical work or licensure to be a psychologist. I believe she practised in Utah as a mental health counselor. She has a history of making herself sound more accomplished than she really is.

The DA claims that Ruby Franke expressed remorse. I see no evidence of that in any of phone calls. She expressed remorse because jail wore her down. She couldn’t endure it. Her kids endured much worse. They’re stronger than she is. They endured 8 years of abuse. She should endure more than four.

The photos of the children on the 20/20 special were horrific. I have no doubt had R not escaped those children wouldn't have survived much longer. These women need to to serve every year they were given. I realized after watching the 20/20 episode that R initially asked to be taken to the police station not to report Jodi and Ruby but because they had essentially told him that he was so evil that he would go to jail after the abuse. Imagine how awful it must have been for that child to believe that he was going to jail and to choose that over living with these witches.
And when he changed his mind and only asked for that “favor”, giving up the second “favor”. I wonder if that was either to help his sister, which he realised he would need the cops for anyway - or if the second thing was - he was willing to not ask for water / food, if they would only take him to the cops.
Even Jessi Hildebrandt (Jodi's niece, who uses they/them pronouns) said in one interview that they begged the police to have them arrested because they were desperate to get away from Jodi. Hearing Jessi's story was so sad as well. I can't imagine what they went through at the hands of their aunt.

That little boy is so strong and such a hero. His persistence saved him and his sister... and I believe his other siblings as well. @@palace927 The neighbors from Ruby’s home in Springville, UT, well as Ruby’s oldest daughter, Shari, had been calling CPS. As far as I know, no one had called from Jodi’s neighborhood in Ivins, UT. Maybe they did, I just haven’t read or seen any reports about it.
They told the kids that they are "never" going home. If R would not have gotten out, and they would have completed the move to a more secluded location, I doubt they would have survived. Hearing what is written in the journals sent chills through me. Praying that they get the help needed.
And his other sister was occasionally brought to the home as well, which is why the little boy thought that they were two more kids in the house. so I’m wondering if some of the blacked out stuff is about the other child, and that more charges will be brought on. The interview with the public defender was very informative. I appreciated the insight into some of the ins and outs of prison life, and I took pleasure in the fact that Ruby and Jodi will be living SO FAR out of their comfort zones. All those restrictions....gee, kinda like the restrictions they imposed on those poor kids. Minus the actual torture. Maybe there will be some "prison justice" imposed by the inmates.🤔

I’m 21 and going to be a emt in a couple years, it’s just part of the job but a sad part, you can’t really think about all the tragedies you witness you just have to shut that part off in the brain or else it will get bad.

The DA claims that Ruby Franke expressed remorse. I see no evidence of that in any of phone calls. She expressed remorse because jail wore her down. She couldn’t endure it. Her kids endured much worse. They’re stronger than she is. They endured 8 years of abuse. She should endure more than four.
The DA should be in there with her. His job was to advocate for kids. Being eligible for parole in 4 years isn't justice. Should have been 15 minimum.

The photos of the children on the 20/20 special were horrific. I have no doubt had R not escaped those children wouldn't have survived much longer. These women need to to serve every year they were given.
I realized after watching the 20/20 episode that R initially asked to be taken to the police station not to report Jodi and Ruby but because they had essentially told him that he was so evil that he would go to jail after the abuse. Imagine how awful it must have been for that child to believe that he was going to jail and to choose that over living with these witches.
And when he changed his mind and only asked for that “favor”, giving up the second “favor”. I wonder if that was either to help his sister, which he realised he would need the cops for anyway - or if the second thing was - he was willing to not ask for water / food, if they would only take him to the cops.

That little boy is so strong and such a hero. His persistence saved him and his sister... and I believe his other siblings as well. Bringing this to light is extremely brave, going against his mother was extremely brave. My heart aches for ALL of those children. I have a 13 year old and it makes me sick to think of him having growing pains, much less being abused to such a disgusting degree. Ruby and Jodi should be under the jail, and that's just the start.

Also when they were together plenty of viewers called child protective services on them since he was part of the abusive tactics. It’s all recorded on UA-cam. No excuse. Children don’t ask to be born. Parents have a duty to protect them. Not seeing your children for months to a year is completely unacceptable and negligence at the least.

Her speech to the judge was self serving! She was upset that she got caught and was looking for sympathy from the judge. Prison will be an eye opener for her!

The neighbor said something interesting. When he was on the phone with the dispatch, he said, ‘and we know there have been problems at this neighbors house’. It makes me wonder ‘what’ kind of problems🤔

The neighbors had been calling CPS for years and nothing was ever done to stop the abuse.

@@palace927 The neighbors from Ruby’s home in Springville, UT, well as Ruby’s oldest daughter, Shari, had been calling CPS. As far as I know, no one had called from Jodi’s neighborhood in Ivins, UT. Maybe they did, I just haven’t read or seen any reports about it.

They told the kids that they are "never" going home. If R would not have gotten out, and they would have completed the move to a more secluded location, I doubt they would have survived. Hearing what is written in the journals sent chills through me. Praying that they get the help needed.

And his other sister was occasionally brought to the home as well, which is why the little boy thought that they were two more kids in the house. so I’m wondering if some of the blacked out stuff is about the other child, and that more charges will be brought on. Because if she was brought to the torture house, she definitely had things done to her too. I’m wondering if she was also going to be moved to the Arizona house with R & E.
i highly doubt a 3rd child was abused as much...the two middle girls are already 15 and 17 years old and can't be pushed around mentally or physically as easily as the 10 and 12 year old kids@@laurawhite9822
Yes,the journal clearly says they were going to kill them.They said they were going to get rid of them.
"I beat you because I love you. Mama duck? My 6 little chicks." So absolutely sickening. Their sentences were too arbitrary and way too lenient. Disgusting excuses for mothers and women! And that father? Who does what he did? Staying away from his children like that? I absolutely believe he knew what his wife was all about and he left those poor kids alone with her. That young boy who went for help is a hero. And just think of how brave he had to be to do that.
Ruby didn’t plead guilty because she thinks she did anything wrong, she plead guilty because she didn’t want her incriminating, demented thoughts from her journal to be read aloud to the court. More saving face.
Kevin also had a diary, but I haven’t heard much on it.
What was the point though..they were eventually released to the world anyway.

The interview with the public defender was very informative. I appreciated the insight into some of the ins and outs of prison life, and I took pleasure in the fact that Ruby and Jodi will be living SO FAR out of their comfort zones.
All those restrictions....gee, kinda like the restrictions they imposed on those poor kids. Minus the actual torture.
Maybe there will be some "prison justice" imposed by the inmates.🤔

@@lil6806 legally, no, because they were in Rubys custody. Even though they were married no abandonment occurs as long as one parent maintains custody.

15 years is not enough time for Ruby and Jodi to serve in prison. The kids will have to live with what they were put through by Ruby and Jodi for the rest of their lives.

And I’m the ONLY one commenting that who is making Utah laws the max for 30 years for child abuse? They should have at least gotten that! Not to mention are the Utah lawmakers abused? Jodi even said to Keven maybe 10 days or 20 years. They knew the law! I think it’s obvious they were looking for property in Arizona to MURDER 2 youngest kids. They should be in prison for attempted plot to murder. Utah law sucks and it should not be a part of the United States. What in the trash is that.
