Yes, I see this too from the little I know of the case (just this video). The deceased couldn't accept that their friendship had ended, she couldn't deal with her own pain and sense of loss. And that's why she engaged in bullying and harassment and eventually assaulted her. She was enraged because she was being rejected. And her own family wasn't able to help her deal with her feelings, to accept the end of their friendship, and in order to move on. It looks like they may have even encouraged her toxic behavior.

Watching this tells me that yes, both girls should have behaved better BUT their own parents caused this. Why? You teach and educate your children on what is appropriate emotional regulation, not to bully, how to behave around others and the fact this happened tells me there was no parental responsibility; no adults teaching these kids to grow up to be real people. Anger and bravado is not how to do things. This is just a tragic example of how we don't behave.

after seeing video it seems like a justified defense
@@jordan5111 where's the link to the video
Self defense. This case although tragic, needs to be dismissed.
I think the problem was that she didn’t contact the police and instead went home and tried to cover it up by washing her clothes and such. Maybe it would’ve been a different story had she called 911 instead as soon as it happened.
She took the plea to avoid the risk of a trial.
"17 years old, she loved life and starting fist fights she can't finish"
Lol
Oohhh lol
No lies detected here
Lol the girl had a knife.. not defending anyone but imagine being that weak that u bring a knife to a fist fight.
😭
I don't see any tragedy here, the deceased person got what she wanted, she could behaved differently and not provoked the situation - If you're not ready for a fight, you don't start one. The blonde didn't act wisely, but the street has its own rules.
like daughter, like mom... and so bro and sis
3 kids and no dad... And an insufferable mom... I think it all makes sense
F*ck around & find out! The girl was backing up constantly & then was left no choice. 💯 3 years makes sense when you watch the video...
@@clarissa-xd9iu Oh my sweet summer child you...
Never bring your fists to a knife fight.
If she didn''t want to engage all she had to do was leave.
She wanted to retaliate because she had her knife with her knowing the other girl didn't.
Just leave
Make it she would have had to sit on you to make you stay.
All she had to do was leave
3 years? That's poop
No it doesn't she didnt deserve to die she wanted a fair fight not a death match. She wanted to cut her throat and kill. This is NOT JUSTICE, YOU ARE A MONSTER
I don't think she should have received any time. I think the brother helping instigate it should have him serve 3 years. The victim was also the bully and was head shoulders larger. She did Find Out.
The aggressor girl was also bigger than the blonde girl. I understand the blonde girl being in fear.
Another case of FAFO!! That girl was clearly looking for a fight and is not innocent, no one deserves to die, however everyone deserves to defend themselves PERIOD! These kids want to act all big and bad but face no consequences.
3 years does make sense when you explain the context she shouldn’t have stabbed her but the other girl was the aggressor
Guess that girl shouldn't have been aggressive.
She was asking for the fight.
She defended herself, don't be a bully and you wont end up dead!
So, the girl got killed attacking the other girl.
Looks like that SHOULD’VE been a slam-dunk case of “self-defense” to me as the deceased was the bullying aggressor who assaulted HER and CONTINUED to threaten her as she walked backwards 30 or so steps TRYING to RETREAT!!
Three years for defending herself?
She left and tried to cover it up. That implies guilt.
She was probably scared???
She premeditated
@@apextroll They said they didn't find that she tried to cover it up, though she did leave the scene.
@@CaptainChapin She didn't make the deceased come look for her and keep trying to fight as she kept walking away. She didn't make the deceased assault her. I get that there's some ambiguity about this knife, but her communication was to leave her alone, wasn't it? So the deceased should have left her alone.
I don't think the victim expected a knife involved or that the girl was going to use it. However, we have to teach our children to walk away when the anger feels uncontrollable. Why didn't she just walk away and speak the next day when more calm. And who is the guy who was basically useless in stopping this from going that far. He wanted this to happen or something to happen. He is ridiculous.
She walked away, she tried to flee but the victim was still following her and stalking her.
@@jhg440 exactly, the girl that was fatally stabbed should have left and calm down somewhere. I'm not saying is her fault but she was angry. What happened inside that store.
@CarlainNewYork your right ma'am this happens all the time. The brother is supposed to get his sister out of a fight and protect the other women if at all possible too.
Why is it up to some dude to stop this? People are accountable for their own actions.
The knife texts were probably an acknowledgement that her threatener was about a foot bigger than her and an attempted pre-emptive dissuasion of an expected attack. Her attacker was overwhelming.
Exactly
This girl probably shouldn't have gotten any jail time.. probation. Only thing she did wrong was try to destroy evidence.
Looks like self defense to me!
After watching the video I think 3 years is appropriate. The girl she stabbed basically stalked her outside of a gas station, physically assaulted her, and pursued her as she tried to flee before the stabbing.
Then why not self defense??
@@luchamiomaridekakio6429 Big risk to take it to trial and argue self defense when the charge is murder. Sure, maybe she'd get acquitted, but she is also taking a chance of getting life in prison.
@@tewks4458 damn i aint think of this you right. i think i would of took the 3 as well
Yup. She instigated it and was tryna beat the blonde girl. She defended herself.
@@luchamiomaridekakio6429You need to use reasonable force to claim self defense
Halia was the aggressor 100%. She pushed, slapped, and assaulted Bryanna MULTIPLE times before Bryanna pulled the knife to DEFEND HERSELF. The fact that the prosecution wanted to call it first degree murder is insane.
Its hard to but the victim was the Bully. Im sorry the girl had to do a prison sentence for defensing herself.
That's so clearly self defense
Girl does not belong in jail.
the other girl attacked her thats why she only got 3 years
So a slap gives you the right to use deadly force? As a man, try punching a female who slaps you and you too will get 3 years even though your victim did not die.
Wouldn't that just be self-defense? Why is she getting any prison at that point?
@@quemzzy7397 3 years or take a gamble on life. Corrupt prosecution just wanting a win.
America is becoming like Australia, where self defence is not allowed under any circumstances.
She had a weapon her and pre addressed her intent to kill
If the deceased family had raised her not to be such a vile bully that people need to defend themselves against, she would be alive today.
Yes exactly! I taught mine that when they were little. I cannot tolerate bullying.
Based on the video this was clear self-defense and she never should have been charged. This was in actual miscarriage of justice.
I would have given her time served if I were the judge. I find it crazy they thought a jury would convict her for this.
People are so crazy in certain areas they can’t even see straight so he may have been right
I'd take the deal. There's no way I'd risk having to serve a life sentence
@@Dirtydeeds-un4vw That's fair, a felony on her record is enough punishment though. Giving her 3 years just because she didn't react perfectly after being attacked is tough.
@@OrleanProsperthere really needs to be more publicity about this sort of thing. This is not an isolated occurrence.
F around and found out.
Idk I feel like the chick that got stabbed was the aggressor and the other check the show that she had a knife multiple times and clearly didn’t wanna fight and the dark-haired girl kept coming out her. I get those texts look bad and idk if I agree with it but I get why it’s only three years.
None of the articles I read on this case said what the beef was over. I'd like to know what lead to both girls poor life choice.
I would bet every dollar I have it was over a boyfriend/ cheating/ high school drama.
maybe the girl who lost her life shouldnt try fighting people and not expecting something to end up fatal
People are not taught how to PROCESS & CONTROL their emotions. SMH
She should have never been charged in the first place
You'll always expect bias from the victims family, in this case however it goes way beyond that to the extent that they are delusional.
Self defense- what was she supposed to do? The whole episode is disgusting. It’s hard to pity a rabid animal.
I’m glad the guest brought up the family’s statements. It’s a bit rich to say she betrayed their daughter when their daughter chose to attack her first.
As someone who been bullied and jumped the fear is justified I bet that poor girl was so scared
Looks like self defense to me.
So bullies are the victims now. Just like the Apple River stabbing situation.
Before reading your comment, I was thinking of the parallels with exactly that case!

Self defense but she shouldn’t have went home & washed her clothes
If I did this got stabbed and died my parents wouldn’t even have my back in court they would of felt it was justified for me acting that way. Smh self defense sorry

@@veebee3837 *Your parents
I know they've lost a child but... the victims family just seems rotten. The mom acting like Bryanna was the aggressor. The brother threatening Bryanna's boyfriend if he stopped his sister from being able to attack.
I know it might be a gamble... but I feel like she could have gotten a better outcome if she plead "Not-guilty"
7:00 - Yo! It was YOUR daughter and YOUR son who provoked her constantly and instigated the fight!!
Ego ego ego. People need to learn to get over their ego
Weren't they also stalking the defendant at her job? Wtf? 3 years??? For being stalked??
How was this not self defense? This woman should not be in prison. I've never seen this video prior.
Honestly kids, just go to bed early and leave the streets alone.
I agree this is self defense and the victims family had no remorse for her aggression. I don't things she intended on looking her but making her stop fighting and hurting her. Sad she died. Raise you daughter to not fight and be a bully
You reap what you sow
This was 100% self defense. I don’t understand why she is apologizing or serving time…
Self defense
Self defense. This is disheartening.
open and shut self defense. sorry she died. but her and her brother were out for a fight and were not going to let this go. The brother should have been charged also.
NEVER underestimate your opponent.
This is what you call f around and find out.
Her brother is the reason why she isn’t here any longer
obvious self defense
If they were in a "stand your ground" state, she wouldn't have been charged with anything
It's a stand your ground state. Not enough evidence showing it was defense. She accepted the fight and brought a knife to it. It's manslaughter.
I think stand your ground typically only applies in your own home.
@@ShimmeringIceCrystal626 “accepted the fight” as she takes hella steps back. You clearly don’t have an attention span and didn’t watch the video.

@@Jedi-QuixoteShe walked to her car with the drinks that were not alcoholic, based on what her lawyer said and was walking away from Halia when she walked out of the store so she should have got in her car and left right then. But she didn't because she said in her text messages that if Halia came near her she would slice her neck and she did just that. So that seems premeditated imo.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I think if someone is 100% trying to fight you and the other person backs away but is still being threatened then they have ever right to defend themselves. Don't start none won't be none.
3 years is nothing .. wow I can’t believe that
THIS WOMAN SHOILD HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED!!!!
Charged bc she put her clothes in washer and attempted to hide the weapon
Watching this tells me that yes, both girls should have behaved better BUT their own parents caused this. Why? You teach and educate your children on what is appropriate emotional regulation, not to bully, how to behave around others and the fact this happened tells me there was no parental responsibility; no adults teaching these kids to grow up to be real people. Anger and bravado is not how to do things. This is just a tragic example of how we don't behave.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE
You DO NOT pull out a KNIFE WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT WILL LIKELY HAPPEN.
She literally warned her.
Self defence. Don’t abuse and slap other people. The girl found out.
As usual the victim goes to prison, this is what's wrong with America
The title is annoying, they are both teens.
Legally only. Both are teenagers
The deceased didn't expect it to come tenfold towards her. This is why they always say, "Think before you act". She really did come at the small girl. What do you mean betrayal? She clearly is the one harassing the other girl! 💀
The victim just happens to bully the wrong person.
