    I got same engine on my tezza, and to be honest I was looking to swap engine to a 1uz or 3z or maybe a 2jz vvti or 1jz vvti.. but is awesome how this 1g sounds.

    Don't think that rtv can handle a turbos hot side even remotely. Been much better without it. Exhaust sealer would be a closer bet but that shit don't hold up either.

    • @BrianVibert1
      @BrianVibert1  4 роки тому +1

      It held up pretty fine for half a year. Decided to play it safe and change the manifold flange, welded a new one on with new gasket.

  • @batman3698
    @batman3698 11 місяців тому

    Oof, RTV on the turbo flange? Seems like it would burn up almost immediently. But other than that its a cool build.

    Mad video man. Used a lot of it as reference as I have been getting everything myself instead of using a kit so thanks a bunch. Only question though is when you removed the oil pan did you manage to find a gasket to put on or did you use rtv silicone around the oil pan?

    • @BrianVibert1

      Thanks, glad to help. I used rtv to seal oil pan

  • @verossavr3027
    @verossavr3027 4 роки тому +2

    why did you put a sealant under the turbine, there are 700 degrees, everything will burn and a leak will appear.

    • @BrianVibert1
      @BrianVibert1  4 роки тому

      RTV has a very high melting temperature, would not affect it. Reason I did use was because there was a small gas leak due to bad welding. I have now recently removed old t3 flange and welded a new one on

    • @verossavr3027
      @verossavr3027 4 роки тому +1

      @@BrianVibert1 This is an ordinary silicone sealant, made in China, for the exhaust there are completely different sealants coming. After welding, the flange must be sanded, then no sealant is needed.15mm tube needed to drain

    there is no oil cleaning on the oil supply bolt in the drive-in, all the dirt from the pan goes there directly bypassing the filter. the vvti valve has a fine mesh inside, under this bolt, and you have nothing.

    I’m in the middle of doing a turbo build myself. How did you deal with the wiring when it came to the two o2 sensors from the manifold? My downpipe only has one hole, did you just splice the two sets of wires into one sensor and that’s it? Or is there something else you did on the ecu wiring itself (other than the fuel cut defender being wired in)
