More Upgrades for My Jeep Wrangler!

  • It’s time to show my Jeep Wrangler some love! In this video, I install a few new upgrades on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ. These are fairly simple projects, but very beneficial. First thing I needed to do was install new shocks! Since the JK axle swap, I have been running JK Fox Shocks with the remote reservoir in the front and some TJ Fox Shocks in the rear. It made for a stiff ride in the front since a JK is heavier, but I mainly was putting highway miles on my Jeep at the time. I absolutely love how Fox Shocks ride, but I needed some budget friendly shocks with the most travel I can get, because I am upgrading to long arms VERY SOON! I ended up replacing my shocks with some Bilstein's in the front and skyjacker in the rear.
Another small but necessary upgrade I did is replace the bushings on my seat. My seat was moving around and rattling like crazy because the bushings were shot! I replaced them with new ones from Stable Seat and am very happy to not be moving around or hearing a bunch of noise while driving. It is cool companies such as Stable Seat are making after market parts that the factory no longer makes.
Also adding a quick draw to the interior of my Jeep... Enough said about that. Don't want to get in trouble.
We also install a new catch can on the Dodge Charger.
Finally it was time to replace the radiator support on my new C6 Corvette. I actually ended up doing this off camera. Took about 2 hours in the garage AND I did not have to drop the front bumper! Looking forward to tearing down the LS2 soon and replacing the lifters.

Always a good thing to have a proper "clock" and a place to keep it. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

As a firearms instructor, that mount is the worst thing you can use for many reasons. Carry on your body and practice drawing or don't carry. Your "clock" becomes a projectile in the event of a crash, makes for an easy target if you leave it by accident, and allows easy access to it. Part of being an armed individual is being responsible for your "clock" at all times and keeping it inaccessible to anyone who should have access to it. Also, remember it's better to have the element of surprise, this is why most people conceal carry rather than open carry. Having it visible make you a target. Not trying to be rude but y'all were worried about your little ones accidently putting the Jeep in park or drive with the shifter, which is why you didn't bypass the lockout, but you're ok with the "clock" on a magnet under the steering wheel? Carry on your body and practice drawing from in the Jeep or don't carry. Pick up a Mantis X and a DryFire Mag, toss a few targets up around the garage and you can practice all day/night long without wasting any freedom seeds.

Totally respect everything you are saying here, and I agree. But it won’t be living on that magnet mount… it will only be there occasionally and not when my kids are around. Sorry I didn’t specify exactly how when and where it will be located at all times, mounted on the magnet or not.
And yeah….. I am concerned if my kids are sitting in the driveway or out wheeling and accidentally hit the shifter with their leg🤷🏻‍♀️

You should park your cars at an angle, kinda like a parking lot. That's what we do. Keeps one side clear for driving through and then you have access to pull out any vehicle at any moment without moving another vehicle.

Only thing I don’t like about the pod light bracket being there is I’d be afraid of two things. 1 the wire from the light can possibly get ripped into the ujoint from crawling through mud. 2 flexing will look ugly with wires running across the axle n up. Mounting location suggestion for the "Clock 19" magnetic mount....Right in the garbage. IMHO it is a bad idea for a number of reasons.
    * Magnet could fail and your clock is now on the floor out of reach. maybe under gas or brake pedal=not good
    * Mount does not have trigger protection=not good
    * When exiting your vehicle you would need to either re-holster(risky with one in the pipe, and can be a pain in the butt), or store your clock in a lockbox.
    * When in a vehicle it is generally a better idea to have your "force multiplier" on your person and under your complete control at all times. Think of situations that may require you to exit the vehicle in a hurry...one more thing to have to grab. You may need a free hand for one of the kids etc. Also you will be less likely to forget it in the vehicle/out in the open.
    * A good holster should allow you to comfortably carry while driving and with your seatbelt fastened. Your clock will always be in the same place(which is good) and the trigger will always be protected unless you need to un-holster(very important).
Just a few observations. We train vehicle work regularly and in training exercises the outcome is always more favorable when drawing from a holster :-)
LOVE your videos!! Keep up the good work!!

Lots of districts will not allow you to run tires larger than the wheel housing and tires must be fully covered by the flares. Check your area for legalities.
