Unexpected Turn of Events During My First Offroad Trip In TEXAS!

- Most of you know that we are now living in Texas! In this video, i show you one of the local offroading spots close by the house. The plan was to do a quick little run around and then head back home and show you the new garage and house setup... Lets just say that the offroad trip got a little more interesting than we planned, lol.
I have quite a list of things to fix on the Jeep Wranlger LJ now, but the good thing is that just means more videos!
For those who have done a shifter cable replacement on the TJ/LJ platform, let me know what you used and how you like it. Im looking at these two options;

I am also moving up to 37s!!! That will be covered in a video as well. Most of you guys know that i finished up the JK dana 44 axle swap, so the axles and 5.13 gears will be able to handle bigger tires without any issues at all. The only thing we need to finish up on the axle swap is to wire up and get an air compressor to operate the lockers. I also still need to do a final walk around of the axle setup and how it worked out.
Lots of changes are coming for the Jeep LJ, and I am pretty excited about it!

We live in NE Ohio (for now) . I drive a 2020 JLU Willys and my wife drives a 2020 JT Sport S.
West Virginia..............2018 2dr JL Rubicon. We have had a bunch of Jeeps; Cherokee, TJ, and some JK's. We lived in Texas 2x, San Antonio 2004 and Midland, moved from there in 2017 to CA, now back on the East Coast. I work for the "GOV" too, retiring in December finally. Looking forward to the new projects in the new place. Hope the Jeep will still fit in the garage with 37's!!
Just goes to show how capable Jeeps are even in 2 Wheel Drive!
What I like about your videos is that you guys build your Jeeps and not afraid to use them that's what I want to do with my wife's new jeep JL two door thanks for all the ideas

James River crossing, Llano River, and Sandy Creek crossing those are the best Texas Hill Country Expedition Route! Also Hidden Falls Adventure Park.
Also Wolf Caves and Kitempsy park in Mason are supposed to be good places too
@@SAfirefighter I have yet been to Wolf Cave but is on my future list. I heard most of the trails there are pretty hard core. Unlike Hidden Falls that has easy sections and hard sections.
Get a Savvy Off Road Cable shifter and throw that stock linkage in the scrap pile.

I just changed the Cadillac converter on my 09 JK. That was fun. Had to change me exhaust manifold had so bolts broken off. That was fun drill broken bolts out. Kept on braking off drill bit and easy out off in the block. Both headers had cracks in them. Took Cadillac converter off and turned it upside down and a bunch of junk fell out. One of the converters had fell apart. So my engine light was always on. It went out after i fixed the exhaust. Now my remote starter works now after two years had gone by.😁😁😁😀😀
I have a Novak tcase shifter for about 9 years now. Works great
Forget about Wheeling Alone, never wheel w/o your recovery & pioneering tools!
I used the Savvy shifter cable. Easy to install, setup and use. Great stuff.

Eastern Catalytic Converters is who I used when my Jeep had the same issue. And for the shifter go with a cable linkage.

Drove through Canada in our JKU. Didn’t get the chance to explore like we wanted, but hope to be back up there one day. I want to explore Arizona more, only been on 2 trails there! Live closer to it being in Texas.

93 YJ on 35’s.....SBC 350 with a TH350 auto....front and rear Detroit lockers.....warn 12,000 lb winch....I live in NJ so mainly drive it on the beach and in the pine barrens. Looks like you guys have some good terrain for wheelin’......😎
Welcome to Texas! Don’t let Ben drive!😂😂. 2006 LJ , I watched you do a lot to your Jeep on you tube. I had the same thing happen to me on my transfer case linkage . Plastic retainer broke. From Rockwall Tx.

Interested in seeing a full video on transfer case 4wd linkage. Our TJ pops out of 4 occasionally and thinking about fixing linkage to avoid possible total breakage on the trail. Love the videos!
Yeah, ours was randomly popping out a few months ago, adjusted it and then the problem stopped. But now it is completely done and needs to be replaced. Will include the fix in a video for sure!😊

Welcome once again to Texas. You should look into Facebook groups in the area. Many get together for meet ups, beach clean ups and if your ever stuck or broken down they will help out. RGV Mud and Sand Recovery
Would love to move down to Texas, got a lot of kin in eastern Texas and western Louisiana. Plus I could leave my boat in the water all year round, unlike here in the north east. Great videos, love them!

Man, I go there all the time in my Tacoma to fish. Great place. Get on SPI and get to beach access 6 down the strip, head North and end up at the Port Mansfield Channel and some jettis to fish off of.
You just got a new follower. I’m new to Jeep. I got a ‘19 Cherokee Trail Hawk and I haven’t done anything besides get groceries with it. I might head out there today.
TX, Austin area, drive a '12 JKU. There are some beautiful scenic routes through the Hill Country up this way, as well as Wolf Caves, Katemcy and Hidden Falls.

Hey!..hello from Kaufman Tx...since your transfer case linkage is busted, I can highly recommend the cable shifter set up from Advanced Adapters...I had to swap to it when I put an LS in my TJ. It works great ...much smoother than the factory linkage every thought bout being.

Hey Ben and Casey! You guys were wheeling at what us locals call the ship channel. I live in Brownsville and would love to wheel with you guys. Big fan of the channel. Driving a 2018 JKU (last year of the JKU) on 2 1/2 Rubicon Express lift w/ stock wheels and tires for now.

I'm in Harlingen. For help or anything FB rgv sand and mud. That spot and Sunset offroad park are the local spots. Hidden Falls adventure park is cool. It's in Marble fall, tx on the other side of Austin. Trees ranch in SA area is for hardcore wheeling. My buddies over at Outlaw Motorsports here in Harlingen have been to some of the spots. They plan to take one of the mega trucks to RWP this October

They have land anchors for winching if you go off roading alone(pull pal). Ben should keep one in the LJ if he ever gets to drive it again....lol!!!!
