I never get tired of this scene, I love the fact you can hear the screaming combined with the music, makes this so powerful
Reminds me of man of steel when Superman and zod are fighting and supes had to put him down! The anger felt so real
Good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
For anyone who lost family at a young age or endured massive trauma at that age it hits home. All that anger and pain that you never quite get rid . You learn to adapt; it drives you and keeps you going when everything says give up and is a part of who we are. They nailed this scene and clearly those involved understand that pain.👍
This score is so amazing Blake Neely is such an awesome composer. This small piece has so much emotion.
@@joseguevara3269 this issue is here it feels earned.
In MoS it doesn’t
I truly believe she is one of the best emotional actresses in the CW, i always come back to this scene and the scene where she yells at her mothers AI
Those 2 scenes exactly for me, too.
The details of how the heat was so hot it seemed like it was going to melt her eyes was insane
When you tell her to let her emotions out she doesn’t just nail it..she kills it
the song when she uses her heat vision gets me every time. it's so beautiful
akemi86 I agree
It gave me goosebumps
Same here
Ikr ughhhh
It's the reason I searched it on UA-cam and rewatched it on Netflix
She is such a great actress!! She puts so much emotion into the character. If they ever make a movie with Super girl than she deserves that role. I wish they made the show as great :(
Right. This doesn't validate the character. If she knows the machine is sentient, she wouldn't just destroy it. She would prevent it from hurting people. She might disable it or try to reason with it, but she wouldn't destroy it. It's out of character. Great acting, great production values, the tandem fight scene choreography was brilliant, and the story writing stunk up the whole thing. ;-)
Damn.....its 2021 and she's been recasted.....this comment did not age well
@@itsyaboiherman The point we're both making is she needs better story writing that stays in character. This particular failure could be fixed in editing, but the damage has already been done. They don't make these mistakes with THE FLASH or GREEN ARROW. The writers need to do a better job. ;-)
@Talena zzstu Meechan It's out of character. As to the DEO, why these silly people decided to make a crummy version of AGENTS OF SHIELD instead of Supergirl is a topic for another forum. ;-)
M.a.c Casas 100%agreed
3:50 I have NEVER seen a live-action blast that was this gut-wrenching and gripping. Melissa NAILED this emotion.
I was feeling what she was feeling😢
It looks shit lol
@@DP-ic2lz you look like shit that’s all I need to say
There was so much emotion in this scene. It is my favorite moment of the series… also the best-produced. There was a cinematic quality and budget to this, and I really wish they were able to keep this quality throughout.
When Supergirl pours all of her loss, all of her anger, pain and solitude into her heat vision - you DON'T want to be at the receiving end of that.
Especially when its that time of the month...
That is a fact
I miss this season 1-season 2 Supergirl. A cinnamon roll with a fiery intensity buried beneath. Still my all time favorite scene from the show.
U sure? I mean that heat vision seemed pretty weak
Ikr
The pain she must have suffered.. losing her parents, her people, her world!! No wonder she was so angry and sad...
Nigga it’s a show
Clark Kent: Am I a joke to you?
Ameen Ahmed lol
Spoiler alert
Her mother and everyone from krypton is alive except her father.
@@nametag4972 what’s your point 💀
I love that scene and the music is perfect...
BigBaldHead music.apple.com/ca/album/harnessing-anger/1454874430?i=1454874967 I totally agree it’s an incredible scene
All of her loss. All of her anger, regret and doubt. Everything was poured into that instant. She's the girl of steel, she's Kryptonian, But more human than she thinks. :3
Whisper Darkling The pain she's letting out... is heart breaking!!!
Wth why is this comment so deep over the show
@@scophic5059 people tend to do this type of things. It's a little cringe if I must say.
*_did you just- nvm_*
@@scophic5059 because the writing of the show sucks and the acting is novice at best.
my wife gives me the same killing stare when I forget our anniversary.
Yeah sucks for you man yeah next time don't forget it yeah
It's why I'm not married. I won't tolerate that much punishment for forgetting a date. I'll gladly let that be another man's problem. I just don't care enough to let it be mine.
@@deydraniadiancecht8298 I agree especially when I'm very forgetful
@@Ttv_Mikeyy what movie is this called?
@@thesickone6675 it isn't a movie. It's a show called supergirl
Her expression,
the way she screams emmiting energy
Absolutely amazing acting
Unlike her cousin, she remembers Krypton. So much pain for her.
PixieSprite48 her cousin was a baby idiot
@@TheJoker-up4lo 😆
If you have seen the pilot episode you know that her cousin was a baby and she was like almost a teenage years yeah she was like 12to 14 15 years old yeah soo of course he would and could not remember that yeah but she would be much older than he is she could be like almost 40 years old yeah because she was stuck in the from the blast destruction of their own planet he was in front of her and she was in the back and she got hit blast destruction of the planet yeah phantom zone for 25/30 years when she escaped from there she had seen her cousin was a grown man yeah
I think PixieSprite48 means that it’s much more painful if you actually lived that moment and you actually have those memories. Sure we can never discount how her cousin lost his planet and his parents but he’s a baby at the time. All he had is what ifs (what if his parents are alive, what if krypton was not destroyed) while Kara actually witnessed how their planet was destroyed.
tinyamaki Thank you! That’s exactly what I meant. 👍 I knew he was a baby at time, but she was a pre-teen and had those painful memories of growing up there. 😢
This is still one of the best and most powerful scenes in all of the series, the music and everything in those final moment is so wow!
Wondering the budget of this series
I love it when she uses the heat ray...tons of emotion.
this scene will never not give me goosebumps and put a lump in my throat. simple perfection.
Wish the series had more epic moments like this, best scene in the whole series imo
One of two extremely powerful scenes with Supergirl! This and the next episode when she talks a criminal out of doing wrong, without her powers, were season one's most powerful moments that you truly felt! Melissa Benoist shined in this role and these two episodes showed why!
Melissa's a really terrific actress. It cannot be any easier with all the special effects needing to be added in post for scenes like this. Lots of imagination to be used! Hats off to the director too. ^_^
Melissa is GREAT AS SUPERGIRL.... She puts so much emotion in to all her scenes... She makes the heat vision look like it is taking so much from her.... Its so REALISTIC.😎✌
Easily one of the best scenes of the series. So well done. Agree that it ranks as a great superhero moment. I wish Tom Welling had something like this in Smallville =/
i dont even like supergirl but this was defindiently one of the best moments in the whole arrowverse
best scene in any of the Arrowverse,Melissa absolutely crushed this. The scream, the music, the pathos..every bit of this is *chefs kiss*
Melissa acted really well here ❤
I got sad just seeing her have to deal with that much anger that it turns into sadness but a lot of it remains as anger. Imagine how much mental pain she was in while screaming, all that pain she let go must have felt amazing afterwards. Mixed with the music, you can really feel the sadness and anger coming from her.
This is one of the best superhero scenes ever the Pain the emotion, when she screamed I get chills every time, Melissa is of the best actresses I know of she is an amazing person to❤️
This scene is so much more powerful now, knowing the abuse Melissa suffered around that time.
Abuse? She suffered abuse from who?
@@super13HAPPY Her ex husband, Blake Jenner. She made an Instagram video coming out about it. She doesn't mention him by name but makes it obvious it's him.
Lots of privilaged famous females claiming to be "survivors" in this period of time. It gives them credibility and status
@@Dante-vf4sd Have you even seen what she's said? His abuse caused her iris to be torn. She has the scars to prove it. It's highly unlikely she is saying this for status. And what status would this give her anyway? Absolute nonsense on your part, mate.
@@Dante-vf4sd I'm taken aback and left somewhat speechless by your comment. These opinions are shockingly backwards, antiquated, reductive, assumptive, childish, and so on. I'm sure you and I could spend the next day or two combing over all these points in stark disagreement with each other and never end up changing each other's minds but I don't think that would be a good use of time.
I'll just say that while there are loud extremists in every group of people (including feminists), you have a very warped view of feminism and are bringing those warped ideas into a conversation that they didn't need to be brought into.
I genuinely wish you all the best and I hope that in the future, when you deal with women, women's issues, or online discourse, you will find it within yourself to take pause and consider alternatives and that you might be wrong before spouting more of this nonsense. Keeping an open mind and being open to learning is key.
This scene is one of my favorite scenes throughout the whole series, you can truly see her anger/rage and her sadness that she's trying to escape from and let out.
the yelling the music the flashbacks and the planet blowing up is just perfect its so intense as well
She turned her pain into strength
And she used her anger to work for her
One of the most epic super hero scene ever
Melissa is truly one of a kind.❤❤
Still one of my favorite scenes of any show or movie ever made. Top 5 because of all that emotion
This is art. It’s beautiful and moving and sadly they’ve forgotten this simple but powerful ingredient to crafting a great story and a believable main character.
I think this is the best scene is any superhero movie/series ever....♡♡♡♡
Ash The pain she's letting out... is heart breaking!!!
3:53 I FELT that scream, The pain is real…🥺🥺
me too🥺🥺🥺💕
Fun fact, Chyler and Melissa behind the scenes watched out for each other when they used real life pain to help them in these scenes. Melissa would use her real problems to channel these emotions and then Chyler would help her behind the scenes and vice versa
This was so well done. Benoist killed it!
This scene still makes me a little heart broken... Especially when she remembered her losses
I got chills by the laser thing
All that rage, all that grief, all that confusion. Kara lost everyone who she loved, her entire race.
This is why I love acting, telling a story like this, has got to be incredible
Probably the best scene of the entiere show
Brings tears to my eyes every single time...
That was Frickin AWESOME!!!
The fact that if the music was the typical superhero and epic theme instead this scene wouldn't be so iconic
Kara should have gone for 'red tornadoes' head!
U should have gone for the head
@@mauriciogutierrez16rex47 😂
Probably wouldn't be as good as the part she went to
Clark/kal el. Lost as much as Kara did but the difference is he was a baby so he doesn't remember. She does not to mention she was lost in the phantom zone. You can really feel that pain in this scene. Melissa Benoist did it perfectly.
Man I miss this level of character development and writing! Season 1 was *chef’s kiss*
I have always been moved by this scene . it is different now , my world is on fire. I feel her pain . I hope I have her strength
To this day still my favourite scene in season 1
This show is awful.
@@cosmicarmor2426 so don't watch it
alvin medina I don’t, because it’s dogshit.
@@cosmicarmor2426 than why are you here?
They did red tornado so dirty- he’s part of the justice league and along with that this show did his design so damn filthy it makes me cry😭
Sometimes we forget that smiles like Kara's normal ones arent to show happiness but to hide the deepest feelings of pain.
One of the best emotional scenes I have ever, including top rate movies!!
why do some people hate Supergirl it such a beautiful show
I'd guess that people's expectations are too high because of all the great superhero movies and there's just no way that a TV budget is going to be able to match a Hollywood movie budget for fight scenes and special effects.
Yes my dear it's so good
@@hughjasse4047 It's better than any DC movie ever made. And tbh, this scene is more epic than most Marvel films. Either way. Marvel is killing it with the movies and DC is killing it on the TV shows.
I get where the hate is coming from. She's supposed to be this bulletproof superstrong alien who is powerful enough to take down Superman and fast enough to keep up with Flash, yet she constantly gets knocked down by a single punch by the likes of Siobhan, Leslie, Manchester, even Alex and easily loses people after getting distracted for 2 seconds. It is not a comic book accurate portrayal and regardless, fairly speaking, it's not a good look. I'm sure you'll get more reasons from a comic book fan, but as a casual viewer this is as far as I go.
But I enjoy the story and the characters, which I believe to be more important. Supergirl and Flash are my favorite Arrowverse shows.
Because the writers were more concerned about a superHERo that a SuperHero
Love love love this scene. The emotional depth gets me everytime....
Many many years later I still watch this scene and end up crying
Goddamn that was amazing!!!!
She is a great actor and she must have been starring at a green screen
3:53 - even Superman would prefer not to be on receiving end of this blast ... looks like a human-sized Death Star.
Both Melissa Benoist AND Supergirl deserves more than this series.
One of my favorites scenes!!! ❤️
this was literally my favorite scene from the whole show from all the seasons lol
supergirl is ending and there wasn't a single scene that could top this one.
Well the raw hate Lena had for SG in the Fortress of Solitude was pretty epic and the heartbreak and loss that SG felt. She saw the best in people and Lena betrayed that yet she believed in her.
@@kateofone you're right, that moment was built for 4 seasons, it had to be impacting, not to mention katie and melissa are phenomenal together. but i still think this scene is the best one, it was a time where the people in charge still let kara feel and deal with her emotions.
Most powerful and well done scene of season one by far...... But also like, the voice crack at 4:11 post insanely awesome pain yell? Yeah, I'm gay lol
That was so many hurtful memories and losing her parents, her People, her world is so hurtful she pushed all her anger pain everything on him
I repeatedly watched this part. Kara u are loved
This show WAS so beautiful I hate what happened to it; potential teased at but never realized.
An incredibly powerful scena and so well performed
Strongest and most powerful heat vision award goes to Kara zor el/Supergirl
The storyline concerning Red Tornado could have been handled better but this scene is still one of the best the show has ever produced.
I was thinking that
Plus I dont think Red would give her (or any Kryptonian for that matter) that much of an issue
@@djarmgohard yea I know the storyline was silly but the cinematography was much better. Probably the result of it going from CBS to the CW and now its somewhat visa versa.
@@wlee6685 Oh yeah it was a damn good scene
She played the ever-loving fuck out of her part
FULL ON KRYPTONIAN BLAST my god what a great scene she nailed it
The part with combined this music it is amazing

The scene I randomly saw and got me to watch the whole series 😌
That should’ve been on the big screen. Totally, without a doubt, epic!
when we heard this song we know it will be an emotional scene like
This scene is so amazing !!!
i cried the first time i watched this because of the pain she was going through must have been unbearable
Thank you
Always the best supergirl💪💪🔥🔥❤️❤️,and this scene with the theme song is just awesome❤️❤️.
Best scene in the show my other favorites is when ms grant tells her to take off her glasses at the end of episode 8 season 1 and in season 4 episode 11 when she tells Nia she’s supergirl they were so intense and made me so anxious
I love the rage in this
wow amazing scene, melissa great actress 10/10
3:19 - 3:57 is EVERYTHING!!!
Makes me cry 😭❤️
Love this scene
Unglaublich gut gemacht; pure Theodizee

"Yes, even after a ground zero blast my hair still looks like I stepped out of a L'Oreal commercial. I'm okay."
Because she's worth it.
@@UncleMikeNJ Damn Right She's Worth It
Its so good... ahhh...i miss supergirl...
So emotional
Pra mim, essa é a melhor cena, emoção foi a mil.
If you're a Supegirl fan. That image of her screaming while her eye beams went to full power would be one awesome PC background.
It was at this moment I saw epicness like no other
Hand Zimmer is my favourite composer of all time however Blake neely now shares that spot I love this piece of music and also savitar revealed in Flash and I looked at this one and I think it's good because Supergirl remembers Krypton being destroyed and Superman ever and it's more potent because she got to feel the loss of it and that's what I love about it this music I use it every morning to motivate myself
the ost that starts at 3:00 is called "harnessing anger", in case anyone was looking for it.
The best scene, a melhor cena da serie.
no one gonna talk about how dirty they did red tornado, like hows this all we got for such a goat character, need a return, need a live action jla
the song is called 'harnessing anger' by blake neely
When Supergirl uses her laser powers it’s soo delightful and bright, strong and everything…her madness
That determination though.
Amo a série
I loved this episode. The first 2 or 3 seasons of supergirl were good. After that it was all downhill.
