Fun fact: Titus was actually a major shareholder in Interplay and their collapse is apart of what led to Interplay's second bankruptcy, and the death of Black Isle. So you can actually blame this game for killing Black Isle.

That issue with the physics being linked to vsync reminds me of a problem Payday 2 used to (or maybe still does) have.... the A.I.'s effectiveness being linked to the framerate of the host. So playing with a host running the game at 30FPS or below resulted in enemies with the responsiveness of a bag of rocks. So I've heard, which is nuts considering the people who developed it made the fucking Rambo video game. Hell, I remember seeing "from the makers of Rambo: The Video Game" in one of the trailers and being fucking baffled as to why they put that in something meant to hype people up
There's plenty of documentation showing that Superman 64 was the victim of DC execs and their borderline braindead mandates, but finally looking at some of Titus' other games, it looks like poor Supes was fucked, even without DC's "help". I feel obligated to end this comment with a digital pat on the back for Civvie for making yet another good video, so here it is.
IIRC there's some dev quotes where they tried to defend the final game, saying bullshit like "the rings are just in the tutorial levels!". (For anyone who hasn't played/seen SM64 all the way, the rings are throughout the whole game.) So the game probably would have been shit, but DC certainly didn't help.
As a huge robocop fan I'm so happy with what Teyon gave us. I remember being hyped for this all the way back when it was supposed to be a PS 2 exclusive. You can still find some very old footage of the game. You can easily tell now that footage is completely pre rendered.
A couple more things I find worth mentioning: At most you ever carry four weapons in this game. You cannot directly select a weapon to switch to. The only method of changing weapons is to cycle through them, and only in one direction. In one of the levels you have to rescue a police officer who looks an awful lot like Sergeant Reed from the movies. You can even make out a nametag that says "REED" on his chest. But the mission briefing refers to him by a completely different name.
I laughed exactly the same as that guy did in the Robocop clip when he heard "I'd buy that for a dollar" which is now making me question if everyone in the Robocop universe likes that TV show ironically.
Well in Robocop there's a family board game called 'Nuke Em' with the tagline "Get them before they get you!" so it is entirely possible they like it straight facedly, but it's possible some do like it ironic style.
There is another part-FPS RoboCop game, called RoboCop 3 from '92 (I think). It's basically a compilation of action scenes from the film, done in early 90s non-textured 3D. There's flying, car chases and yes, FPS segments. For the time it wasn't half bad. Not phenomenal, but at least it wasn't... this.

I just want to point out that Robocop's pistol is a Beretta 93-R (with the gun equivalent of a car body kit stuck on it and the front folding grip removed). But the real gun is indeed a 3-round burst machinepistol. Favored by Italian special forces in the 70s and 80s. Awesome.

Dude, just review the same games regardless of what GGGmanlives has covered. You got your own opinions, humour and you seem to know a thing or 2 about old school FPS games, so why not?
It depends... When you watch a couple of channels that reviev old shitty games, like Superman 64, you don't want to watch a video about the same freaking game for the 32134 time.
Batman Forever is seriously underappreciated and somewhat unjustly shat on. There's definitely some stuff that cannot be ignored - like Carrey and Jones trying hard to eat up the scenery so much that both of their performances end up being almost legendarily bad or the fact that Kidman as Chase Meridian was just shoehorned in because apparently audiences can't relate to a brooding billionaire who fights crime unless he's got a blonde love interest to keep him grounded - not that things like taking in a ward or having a level-headed butler/surrogate parent didn't already accomplish. Ultimately I wish Kilmer had done 1 more film, even if it would've been Batman & Robin.
Prehistorik and Prehistorik 2 were great. Titus the Fox (or Lagaf: Les Aventures de Moktar) was alright and Blues Brothers wasn't too bad either. So yeah, their early 90s platformers were good.
I spent entirely too long trying to figure out what song was playing at 0:24. It's in the description, obviously, because Civvie 11 is an upstanding gentleman.
I have to defend GGman. They both are great in what they do - each one in his own unique style. There is no reason to compare them.. but there is a reason to admire them ;)
CV Lore explained: cv 11 has done some horrible crime and was put into a dungeon where he was forced to play shitty old games to raise money to keep the dungeon running, but just started doing them for fun around the Christmas special. Katie is the editor for CV11’s videos and is also being held against her will. There are other CV’s such as 18 but it is unknown how many of them make UA-cam videos to find the dungeon
Titus was a serious thing back in the days of 8bit and 16bit home computing. If my memory isn't failing me, it wasn't an uncommon thing to have it be backspace / return on most of the games of that era. If they did have KB menu operation at all, that is. Everything relying on joysticks usually. But, if you had to use the KB you most certainly wanted it so, that the player only had to use one hand for all the KB functions with out having to move his arm. Reaction time being a factor in nearly all games at the time. So the player could keep on jacking it with the fun rod, while also tapping equally frantically at the KB at the same time. Of course escape sounds intuitively logical since, that's how you cancel shit when typing stuff into a UNIX console such as a DEC VT100 or a software emulator running on a PC that's performing the same function, and thus it's the standard on IBM PC software environments as well. Since that's what the PC was supposed double as, as well. A terminal for mainframes IBM has always been big in. But, there is no need to send a fucking escape character to signal an interrupt over a serial-line to a RS232 bus interface when using shit on the PC's own OS, so defaulting to it is just legacy nobody but serious geeks use today, anyway. Enter and backspace can be operated with one hand while keeping the same hand on top of the arrow keys, while you can also simultaneously operate a joystick. This UI translation smells more like the work of someone whose adapted a console game to PC with 1980's computer game UX principles. Calling it bad, just because it's different, is stupid. It's more like, the fucking retarded button layouts used in PC programs (including games) and OS's because of yanked up stuff done to cater to mainframe computing 40 years ago, and keeping them as is just because "this is how it's always been" is stupid and idiotic. The PC defacto practices are fucking asinine and retarded. Not good. And they really have zero defense for being in use today. Someone uses a better one and pedantic geeks that dislike change start whaling they want their retarded shit back. You can operate the main menu with a single hand, it's a good design for a PC games main menu UX with a keyboard. Even if it's a piss-poor and rushed console-port otherwise. PS. I suppose, the "defense" for having cancel be escape is the fact that this is an FPS and the defacto layout is WASD, not the arrows. However, how many game menus do you remember from the last decade even, that accept WASD for moving a cursor in a menu? I can't think of a single one. I'm sure there are such games in existence. But, either they take the arrows as well at the same time for moving the cursor or I've never ran across one. Hey, at least they didn't hard code the key-map in so you don't have to fuck around with a hex-editor to have UX that's not hostile to human life.
"I think its' time to destroy some machinery, its being used for evil afterall..." "WHAAAT !!!" My wife came running from the other room hearing my laughter...
bungie is also guilty of the frame rate thing. halo 2's weapon sandbox is absolutely broken on pc because the high framerates allow you to fire much faster than you would on an xbox which was capped at 30 where as pc was uncapped.
Man! As a big fan of Robocop I remember how excited I was when I saw this game back in the day but I was disappointed because I did not have an Xbox but a PS2. Still I had my doubts about it, somehow I thought it looked dodgy and I 'm happy that in a sense I dodged a bullet.
I had a Titus game for the Game Boy Advance - Planet Monsters - and it was fine. Nothing great but it was good enough for things like "sitting in the back seat while your parents drive the family to grandma's house."
Titus has it's own sonic like character with Titus the fox. They made a game of that name. I played it on DOS and I don't know if it came out anywhere else.
I thought the same as you, fast vs. speed. Must be a German culprit :) ... but Norwegian, Danish, Dutch (and the many other languages with similarities) would also come into question ... that is not so different either. The French / Romance languages are definitely ruled out: "Vedette"

I just want to point out that Robocop's pistol is a Beretta 93-R (with the gun equivalent of a car body kit stuck on it and the front folding grip removed). But the real gun is indeed a 3-round burst machinepistol. Favored by Italian special forces in the 70s and 80s. Awesome.
I like how they actually made physics for the arrow signs in the mine when you shoot them but the legendary Robocop gun has not a blowbacking slide : making it no satisfying and does no feedback sensations to the player when shooting it !!!
Shame...
10:46 "Katie I need the Beetlejuice again." Lol that part gets me every single time
The Beetlejuice horn was literally killing me for some reason so when you did the glitchy beetle juice clip to blue crash screen I transcended from laughter
To think this came out around the same time as the legendary Rome 1, one of the greatest PC games of all time.
I searched for gameplay of this game and stumbled upon this video. I’m 2 mins in and so far I like this guy and definitely gonna check out some other videos rn😈
How did you like his other videos?
I have never seen this channel before. I feel awful for missing out on such great content. PermaSubbed.
i can pick betwean going to work or staying here in my room and watching this video, i think its quite clear what i picked.
"Judges Dredd." Correct pluralisation even XD
Dude, just review the same games regardless of what GGGmanlives has covered. You got your own opinions, humour and you seem to know a thing or 2 about old school FPS games, so why not?
It depends... When you watch a couple of channels that reviev old shitty games, like Superman 64, you don't want to watch a video about the same freaking game for the 32134 time.
@@DrDemoman74 Yeah, wanna know too
Afghan Dan You’re prolly not gonna get an answer tbh
@@SoggyHotDoggy So, just a claim without facts to back it up. Laaaaame.
hey, he is a gentleman and respects other youtubers work, and wants to deliver original content whenever possible, you gotta appreciate that of him.
Titus actually made some good games too. Or at least one: Prehistoric 2 is a really good game.
I'd say Titus Fox is not bad either.
Prehistorik and Prehistorik 2 were great. Titus the Fox (or Lagaf: Les Aventures de Moktar) was alright and Blues Brothers wasn't too bad either. So yeah, their early 90s platformers were good.
I had Planet Monsters for the GBA and it was fine. Not great, but fine for "driving to grandma's house and might as well play this."
Titus also made "Incredible Crisis" ('Tondemo Crisis') which is fun in an insane-party way
We finally got a great Robocop game in 2023!
I spent entirely too long trying to figure out what song was playing at 0:24. It's in the description, obviously, because Civvie 11 is an upstanding gentleman.
Anyone here after watching the Rogue City trailer?
I credit Civvie entirely for jumpstarting that game's development
Your writing is on a whole other level than GGMan's.
I have to defend GGman. They both are great in what they do - each one in his own unique style. There is no reason to compare them.. but there is a reason to admire them ;)
I wonder if Teyon saw this video and thought "Let's do this but good"
CV Lore explained: cv 11 has done some horrible crime and was put into a dungeon where he was forced to play shitty old games to raise money to keep the dungeon running, but just started doing them for fun around the Christmas special. Katie is the editor for CV11’s videos and is also being held against her will. There are other CV’s such as 18 but it is unknown how many of them make UA-cam videos to find the dungeon
I remember seeing this game for sale at Wal-Mart for $60. Looked it up not long after and WHEW.
The fact that absolute dumpster fire of a game being sold for $60.
Let that sink in.
@@comyxcon4gaming860 Oh, it wasn't just selling for $60; it was the Xbox Original version of it...AFTER THE 360 HAD BEEN OUT FOR YEARS.
@@dosbilliam WTF!!
You'd think that a grenade launcher would, you know, _launch_ grenades, not poop them out four feet in front of you.
The lore of this channel still deeply confuses me...
He's locked away against his will, and made to play old FPS games from his childhood, even if he doesnt want to play them.
that's intentional i believe
I think he is making fun of reviewers that have dumb lore in their vid series
"I think its' time to destroy some machinery, its being used for evil afterall..."
"WHAAAT !!!"
My wife came running from the other room hearing my laughter...
8:00 Brain drain bit
18:49 meta bit
21:41 BSOD bit
Lol. The beetlejuice inserts are awesome
bungie is also guilty of the frame rate thing. halo 2's weapon sandbox is absolutely broken on pc because the high framerates allow you to fire much faster than you would on an xbox which was capped at 30 where as pc was uncapped.
22:16 Is that the voice actor in Metal Wolf Chaos?
"Mr President. MR President.. oohh.. Mr President....."
Holy shit you might be on to something
Man! As a big fan of Robocop I remember how excited I was when I saw this game back in the day but I was disappointed because I did not have an Xbox but a PS2. Still I had my doubts about it, somehow I thought it looked dodgy and I 'm happy that in a sense I dodged a bullet.
"Use your machine gun arm!" "But thats not legal." "It is when your using Cyberflex!"
9:52 I love how the excavator mech's design is just straight up ripped from Einhander's first boss. It's even got the crazy trunk arm and everything.
After all this time... we finally got a good Robocop game
Lol. Depends on what is "good" for you.
Yeah, Rogue city slaps
I had a Titus game for the Game Boy Advance - Planet Monsters - and it was fine. Nothing great but it was good enough for things like "sitting in the back seat while your parents drive the family to grandma's house."
25:03 But it was all worth it to hear robocop say "oh SHIT!" two times lol.
This game reminds me of that line from that slip knot song .the one what goes "I push my fingers into my eyes " haha
20:12 *s u c c e s*
@EditRepublic I actually did not know that, thank you for telling me

Titus has it's own sonic like character with Titus the fox. They made a game of that name.
I played it on DOS and I don't know if it came out anywhere else.
I guess a native German speaker named the fastboat like that.
I thought the same as you, fast vs. speed.
Must be a German culprit :)
... but Norwegian, Danish, Dutch (and the many other languages with similarities) would also come into question ... that is not so different either.
The French / Romance languages are definitely ruled out: "Vedette"
I swear, the voice actor for the lady at 8:44 and the newscaster at 22:12 sounds just like Jody Crawford, aid to Michael Wilson, the president of the United States in _Metal Wolf Chaos._
The redhead voice acting was jill sandwich Resident Evil level.
Fun fact, the main theme for Robocop actually came from a movie called cherry 3000
Civvie 11, you are the ultimate, you legend! Thank you so much for your work! And Katie too!
I can't ring any bells in the police academy without my buddy Superfly.
"It's very professional to tie your game physics to the framerate ... " like every second game from japan x_X
I remember my local Wal Mart had a copy of this game in with all the rest of the games and the price was still $50 mind you this was years later like I think it was finally gone in 2013
V-sync probably capped at 60 but the original port was probably designed to run at 30 so you might have slightly fixed some of the issues
God damn it Katie, get it together
Haha, nice jab at Bethesda for tieing physics to framerate.
Love your videos, keep it up! :D
9:55 In all fairness you can see the machine catch fire. In video game logic that is the universal indicator that the vehicle is about to explode.
