- If you’re looking for a projector to build your home cinema around then I can’t speak highly enough when it comes to the EH-LS12000B 4K PRO-UHD. It’s one the best projectors you can buy this year under ten thousand Aussie dollars - $8999 to be precise.
I spent a full day with at Epson Australia HQ playing with settings, screens, and various media to record this review. Hopefully the images speak for themselves, because when it comes to a pure cinema experience, this projector delivers. Of course you’ll have to supply the media, whether it’s UHD disc or Google/Amazon dongle.
The key to this projector is the light source and the path it takes to your screen. Using pixel shift technology, this laser projector pumps out 2,700 lumens of white brightness - the same for colour too - for 20 thousand hours at 100 percent - which isn’t always needed.

Thanks XELA. Just let the pictures do the talking. No amazed selfie needed ;)
I'm a huge fan of Epson and have my 6050 UB boxed up for sale. This would have been my next projector had they retained 3D support and introduced a true dynamic tone mapping solution. If these two features don't matter then I'd say this is a no-brainer.
Pair this with an HDFury Vertex2 or Vrroom and you will get Dolby Vision (which is dynamic in nature vs HDR static metadata)
It still blows my mind how people will crap on good-projector black levels and contrast while using the wrong screens. I get that it's expensive, but a Screen Innovations' Black Diamond screen competes with OLED.
It's nice, but it's not bright enough. My Panasonic 1080p laser projector puts out 3500 lumens, and on Projector Central it's 59 FL on my 135" Silver Ticket Grey Screen, while the Epson LS12000 is only 28 FL on the same screen. That's like half as bright, and tbh, I wish my screen was brighter now as it is, lol.
I think it must be brighter, for the price
Sir will 2.1x optical zoom reduce image quality
How is the 4k pixel shift? I found on my 6050UB that 4k pixel shift is actually worse in term of overall sharpness vs 1080p.
é melhor que jvc nz7 ?
What projector screen you are using for this?
ElectriCinema Side Tension Screen (Hi Contrast Grey)
How would you rate it against the Sony 5000es?
Sony has no HDMI 2.1 which is a big waste for anybody throwing a PS5 or Series X on the projector. 4K @ 120hz....yes please.
@@boomerps2 what if you are not throwing a gaming system?
how is this for gaming
Sensational for gaming - saw in a demo earlier but didn’t get time to do gaming in this video review.
@@ImageMatrixTech ok thanks what the difference between the epson 4010 projector and this one
Looks very dark
The camera's dynamic range doesn't really capture the brightness you see in person. The side lights weren't controllable so I had to make a call to protect the highlights. But it's plenty bright in person.
