oh thanks you’re making it easy to understand now. i always thought distrokid is collecting all the money. but its only the half of it.
The whole point of distrokid is not to sell but to get into most stores per year for reasonable fee considering there's other one off costs like songtrust and some p.r.o's aren't free to join especially to collect mechanical royalties.
If you uploaded a thousand of your tracks to distrokid which then goes to most streaming services, it would be impossible for anyone to miss it and even if all tracks get one play that still adds up to something.. Just think about this slowly. I don't Wat to spell it out or else we'll have fools abusing it by uploading silence like many have dome before.
Make and upload loads of tracks and things will change I'm sure of it
A distributor seems to be collecting 1 of 6 royalties & they only collect it in the states instead of worldwide.. I’m not sure they even collect that 1/6 portion correctly or fully.. ha! I see why people have had such a bad experience with distro kid
I participated in this Webinar, and I am so thankful for your knowledge and your willingness to share your vast knowledge with the Independent musician/singer/songwriter/music publisher/ and Company owners. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Excellent information, FIVE STARS JEFF.

Hi Jeff, I'm Meidi from Indonesia. Just info that outside US, PRO also called CMO (collective management organization).
Thank you. 🙏
God bless you, unsure what happens behind the scenes with the companies you are involved with but what is evident is that you have artists as a priority and you continuely look out for them. I truly respect you.
the best company in copyright always watching over those who invest in recordings of our music studios
JEFF PRICE, YOU ARE SO SMART, THANKS FOR BE TRANSPARENT WITH THIS TOPICS, TOOK ME WEEKS SEARCHING BUT YOU HAVE IT VERY EXPLAINED, GOD BLESS YOU!
Jeff Price -- the last honest man. (Get yourself a food taster, bro!) Excellent informal yet uber-informative presentation. Thanks SO much!
Believe me, the thought has occurred to me
I should have listened longer you just said it ✍🏽

Jeff your content is brilliant. You speak about a lot of topics that can be very confusing for many who work in the business! Definitely do one every week. Thank you

Jeff at the beginning it is written broadcasted on 27 march 2019 just to let you know. It is good i watch it again i have missed some good point. Groov'With Me.
Great stuff. I'd love one of these focused on UA-cam!
thank you
Excellent presentation Jeff. As a music consumer, If I wanted to stop supporting Spotify, is there another interactive streaming service that is more fair to it's content providers & less...um, immoral?
Wish you wasn’t referring to these unfamiliar words as this, and this. Otherwise thank you. Very useful and fruitful info.
What if I didnt register compositions with my music publishing administration... Can I then use Audiam????
2:16:12 This last part was *priceless* Jeff.
How can I contact you, or someone of your staff to make some questions ?
Definiteley cleared alot of things up for me. Leaning towards going the Audiam/PRO route, but do you have any suggestions other then songtrust, for publishing administration deals, that focus on collecting international royalties? I believe i'll be able to grow an audience in central/south america, but an umbrella company that covers all international co's would be ideal
I wish you would have mentioned your company’s services a little more. Your lessons in this are absolute GOLD! Thank you for all of your transparency. I’ll be sending your info to our roster members.
Does Audium work for Tunecore? If we use tunecore & the pub admin on tunecore does Audium services come with that?
No, there is no relationship between TuneCore and Audiam. I would not suggest using TuneCore publishing. TuneCore does not actually do they job. Works like this. You-->TuneCore--->other entities that do the job -----> places using the music. So layers of middleman that do a mediocre job taking your money.
@@JeffPriceArtistCore thank you for responding so quickly. I am still finishing your video & you’re clearing up my thoughts & questions. I love the information that you are putting out here, thank you. Thank you for being tapped into what’s happening in the law & flow of money in the music industry.
Do you have a list somewhere of recommendations of royalty collections for worldwide collections on all fronts?
why is it that songtrust only does all in collection and doesnt allow their members to collect ONLY outside the USA? MLC is already collecting for free in USA, so why should songtrust commission those royalties.
Hello, I want to talk to you about business ... I have many channels in UA-cam. In the channels we make music lyrics. I have about 100/150 channels but we don't make money from it. Music is copyright. I want to make money..what can you do to help me ...
So did I mess my self up by signing with songtrust?
When you sign up for Sacem are you giving up your Publishing Administration Rights or your just hiring them like Audiam ?
Thanks Jeff one question I’m with Music Reports but they aren’t getting my Spotify or Google Play mechanical royalties If I join your service will there be any conflicts?
You are not with music reports. They don't work for you. They are hired by the music service. they work for the music service. They are paid by the music service. They do not have your interests at heart. You do not "join" them. You do not assign rights to them. They do not use their music. If they told you any of these things they are not being honest with you. They are a company hired by Amazon etc for Amazon to pay you. You do not need to give them info, or any information. They are not part of any requirement. They are a random third party company being paid by the music service. Audiam works for music publishers and songwriters. We look out for your interests. We license and collect and find the unpaid money from the music services. Music Reports is 100% irrelevant.
Hey Jeff, if Distrokid claims to collect “youtube money” for an extra 4.95 a year, what exactly are they collecting money for the artist for? Is it for Sound recording royalty from youtube?? Is that why its ok to use Audium for youtube as well?...audium would only cover seeking sync and/or mechanicals???
does distrokid collect money from only usa or rest of the world?
There are two royalties: one for the sound recording and a second separate one for the composition (lyric and melody). For the Sound Recording DistroKid is collecting you money from around the world. For the second separate royalty for the composition, DIstroKid does not collect it. I encourage to please read The Definitie Guide To Spotify Royalties that explains it. download it here bit.ly/3aDrpR5
for sound recordings they collect for the entire world
Yes indeed if you can do one every two weeks as one per week maybe too much.
Your knowledge needs to stretch out as it's vast amounts of information to take in a few video's..
And besides you'll find people ask the same few questions in a million different ways and that's no exaggeration, I just don't want you good heart to be swamped by so called artists who just want to resample everything to make a quick break into fame.
Many are aware now that it doesn't matter how they get there just as long as they get there they've made it and that's partly a fact, how they maintain is another question but media and social Web easily helps with that with minimal effort after the fact..
Keep up the good work Jeff. .
The site is very responsive and I get emailed back always less than a few days with updates
This guy knows his shit
Do you have an email address Jeff please ?
God bless you, unsure what happens behind the scenes with the companies you are involved with but what is evident is that you have artists as a priority and you continuely look out for them. I truly respect you.
