HOW TO DISASSEMBLE FORD IGNITION LOCK CYL. for pinning

After finding out an easy way in repining \ or replacing ignition housing of a Ford ignition switch. i've decided to make a video of it.might this be of a little tip to fellow locksmiths.

thank you. I brought an ignition on Amazon but it didn't work. took it apart with your video and put Amazon ignition back the way it suppose to be and now it works.

That's not the ignition switch. That's the ignition lock cylinder. The ignition switch is behind it.

thanks buddy, i should have wrote, "ignition switch lock" it might have been nearer. but your right. its an ignition lock cylinder..i'll correct. it. thanks for viewing. regards.

What if I don't have a key.. I can't turn the ignition lock to ACC or ON position... What will I do??

hi Les Ter, if you mean..while the lock is in place , better call for a locksmith.

I've watched a 1000 times and still cant get the ball bearing out smh

that should be loosely fell if not stucked. maybe a wd40 might help. hope you've got it out by now..

I encountered the same issue, but the problem for me was I didn't have this exact lock cylinder just a very similar one. On my lock cylinder instead of pushing in a ball bearing you pull the pin that locks it into the vehicle further out.

Is there a way to remove the plastic guide for the key? It gets in the way of aftermarket flip keys...

hi sean yes you can...if it obstruct when entering the flip key, its just a keyway guard anyway.
