Take the Guess Work Out of Natural Hair Care. ~ Facts and, "Not So" Common Sense to Longer, Thicker, Healthier Hair.
Pro tip! For those of you that do wear nail polish try looking into organic and vegan brands. These brands make nail polish naturally (Less harsh chemicals). You can tell because when you open the bottle it doesn’t have that harsh smell. I use vegan brands like Pacifica, Ella+Mia, and Piggy Paint. Don’t forget to do your research! 🧐
Zoya is an excellent natural 10 free nail polish brand too and they have a huge variety of colors.
@@islandprincess9666
Yes, I love Zoya nail polish. They also have great sales throughout the year. Their best sale is Black Friday when it’s buy one get one free.
@@michellew4737 If you love gel manicures without all of the toxins you should get Zoya’s Gellie Cure manicure kit. I love it. It’s easy to use and it’s a much better alternative to Gel nails and it’s healthy for your nails too. 😊
@@islandprincess9666
I have not tried that one yet. They have a sale going on until Monday-Buy 4 for $22 (no s/h).
Do a search for indie nail polish brands too! A lot of them are 5 or 10 free!
My nails used to be brittle, broken, split, thin and so fragile until I found out I had severe iron deficiency. Since fixing that issue my nails now grow long and strong without any effort or care so much so that I have to cut them quite often.
How did you found out ?
@@minentlemeenaty5443 It was during a routine yearly health check up. I had blood work done.
@@dollyrevenge98 Okay. Thank you for responding.
I think I polish my nails twice a year and when I do I use vegan nail polish by 9th and Maxwell (black owned). I think my hands and toenails are still pretty without it. Looking forward to your next video.🙂
A vegan nail polish that’s Black owned, thanks!
Gonna look into this🙌🏾
@Aza Thank you for sharing about 9th and Maxwell nail polish I didn’t know about it until reading your comment.
Thanks for the suggestion! Love supporting black women :)
I don't wear nail polish either, but it is because I hate the smell, even the more natural ones reek 🥴! I didn't ask for this series but thank U! 🥰Looking forward to more!
Same here
Can’t wait for this series! I’m not genetically gifted in the nail department 😩
Me either but nothing works for me.
I used to grow my nails many years ago, I just keep them short now. I have noticed since I've been taking multi-vitamins and collagen they have been growing faster so I have to cut them down more frequently.
same to the collagen!
@@theetravelhippie Collagen is a game changer.
.
@@LilithsCosmicLounge Just look out for bovine collagen.
What vitamins and brand did you buy?
I also keep my nails natural. I find that adding all the extra fun stuff at the nail shop destroys my nails underneath. I’ve done it maybe twice and both times my natural nails looked bad under. I love love love your nails. My nails grow long and strong but I love the way you shape and manicure your nails. Can’t wait.
True! Knowledge applied is power.
I started doing my own nails (gel) and learned so much about application and products.
Now, I can fun nails, and very healthy ones underneath.
So basically we have to be boring to have anything long?! Nails hair… everything! 😒… my natural nails suck period regardless of what I try been like that foever… So i guess i don’t have to worry about that one🤷🏾♀️.
@jessicab331 Natural nails can definitely grow long and be strong with a good routine. Always moisturize your nails and hands after washing them, take Biotin supplements, and avoid nail biting. I saw results in a matter of 2 months, and now I have no need for acrylics because my nails grow quite fast.
I don’t wear nail polish because I have noticed each time I do my nails get like extra toasted and breaks. My nails are really long and I like them like that. So natural is best for me
I don't wear nail polish because it leaves a weird feeling on my fingernails.. like I can feel it suffocating my nails. like I can feel my nails not having enough air on them. so to me it feels uncomfortable.. I do get a lot of growth in my nails but because I don't know how to take care of them, they end up chipping off overtime.. so, I'm really looking forward to your video on nail length retention💁🏾♀️💕🙏🏾
🤩 can't wait for this series. I just removed my gel manicure and said to myself, I'm not getting my nails done anymore. This is perfect timing.
I do not wear nail polish anymore because God made my nails perfect and they do not need to be coated with chemical-filled colors! Thanks for this video.
THE most important part of growing hair or nails is diet. Having the right nutrients and the right type and amount of proteins in your diet is everything!
How does your nails always look so clean ? Just by scratching your skin or scalp it gets dirty.
My nails grow very quickly just like my hair. Unfortunately i put nail polish on it cause it gets dirty and it's not cute.
My nails grow long & strong as well. Now I only wear polish for special occasions which isn't often since COVID. My issue is when they bend, crack, split so I end up cutting them down or off to start over. I don't like it when all 10 nails aren't the same length.
Maybe try taking a daily complete supplement (vitamins) to build up strength.
I click on this because I don't wear nail polish neither. If i do which is rarely it got to be a really pretty nail polish and my favorite is apple green. But my nails so white and pretty on it own i don't wear them or feel the need too.
Awesome video! I ALWAYS shape and cut my nails prior to style to prevent snagging and ripping out my hair. I’m almost to tail bone and trust a snag will make me holler 😂😂
Although I don’t do manicures like I did in the past, I moisturize my hands every time I wash them. I use to trim often because they grow so fast but, now I also like to keep them trimmed because 3 nails on both hands curve, and you can really see it when my nails are long. I will start using my crystal file, and I love the buffer blocks. Since I need a new one I’ll try the one you’re using. You always have good and useful content. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I keep my nails natural, like my hair. Years ago I got the fake nails glued on top of my real nails. The chemicals made my real nails soft like a marshmallow. That was it for me. I knew those chemicals were not good for my body. For awhile I used clear nail polish. Eventually I stopped using that as well. It too was a another chemical my body didn't need.
OMG same here! I’m a huge gel and acrylics and dip powder fan but man my nails got as thin as paper, it would hurt to press too hard. Only to learn lots of women experiences it’s the effect of the removal and buffing over time it weakens your own nails. The only solution is to keep getting tips and acrylics etc or just let my nails heal and grow out naturally. My natural nails are strong and do not split or anything. Lesson learned.
@@nyamburamwende Mine too. I also take collagen natural nails are super.
My nails grow fast and they're so strong. I love nail paints.
Glad I found this series, very educational and simple! Onto the next video
This is a great public service announcement! I do wear gel polish and when it’s time to get them redone they do snag my hair. I have learned a great tip from UA-camr Neki Cakes who recommended wearing gloves (not for the polish because she has fine hair strands like I do and this really works for me!
I shape my nails in a rounded square. Easier For me on hair and to pick things up than with round or pointy ...and nails break less in that shape. However, I don't worry about snags cuz I wear gloves to do my hair.
Agreed! You are in point. I have nice nails as well
This is a very good topic, I look forward to the series 🤎
Me: can't grow long nails to save her life
Also me: looks at her nails with utter envy😲😲😲 omg they look like acrylics.😍😍😍😍
a series I need!
Looking forward to the next video. My nails grow like crazy and are as strong as rocks. I will only use nail polish for a special occasion, like I'm in someone's wedding and they are requiring it, because I feel the Polish yellows my nails and cause them to be very dry and brittle. Where is that baby?:-)
I loved polish for years it took me a while to admit its bad for my nails and my nails grow stronger and longer without anything on them
More news we can use - Beautiful hands AND nails! I occasionally wear polish, and my nails have been bare since the pandemic; you’ve given me a good reason to continue this practice. Unfortunately, I don’t care for them as I should so I’m really looking forward to your nails series, and learning more. How do you get them to look so clean and smooth? I hope you include your hand/skin routine also. Blessings!
As always love your content 😀. It’s good to see you back. Motherhood is a beautiful experience. I take breaks from polish because I love to garden. Really looking forward to your next installment. Have a great day 😀
Great video. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Can’t wait for the next video. My nails will grow to long lengths especially if I continue to oil my hair but I can never keep that length 😩
I have dermatitis of the scalp and found out that fragrances in hair care products are some of the causes of scalp inflammation. Most black hair care products have essential oils or perfumes which may cause the inflammation. Do you have any videos that could help me or recommendations for hair oils or products for a sensitive scalp?
Hi, I have dermatitis too, my dermatologist prescribed me uriage foaming gel every 2 days, is not clearing the scales but helps with inflammation and it doesn’t smells like other shapoos I’ve used for it. I’m still in treatment tho and she also prescribed me pills for inflammation and fungus, so It’s not the definitive solution for it, but it definitely feels better than most products I’ve tried (for context I’ve had DS for 10 years)
Hope this can maybe help, someone
@@millyjimenez9730Thank you for the information. Also, I put 2 to 3 drops of Tea Tree oil on my hand with the shampoo when I wash my hair and It helps me a great deal.
Do u think ingredients that we use for hair can or should be used on eyebrows or lashes for growing them too ?
Would u consider makeing a video abt it
Love how easy and clear your explanations are . Thank you .
I stopped because it chips too fast. Funny enough my long natural nails are very flattering and unique imo
I used to have my nails as long as hers before, but I'm clumsy (and would scratch myself in the weirdest way) and now, when I don't cut them every 7-10, I'm seriously bothered.
For everyone who loves to paint their nails Zoya is an excellent natural 10 free nail polish brand and they have a huge variety of colors. This is my favorite brand.
Thank you!! I needed this 🤩😘
wow divine timing
I learned how to do my own nails and protect them... I noticed that when going to the nail salon they would over drill. There are methods to avoid damage, through my research some nail technicians over drill to keep you coming back????!!!! Like what! Also a lot of these chemicals have damaging chemicals to my eyes. Good Video.
I'm so excited for the next video 🥰
I never paint my fingernails. My nails don't break and grow long but they are wide so I don't like them too long. I rarely paint my toenails--usually only if we go on a big trip.
I am not a polish wearer, either, & prefer to wear my nails at a short/active length. Mainly because in doing my natural hair, I found that the natural oils on my scalp & hair make my nails harden & grow. Very Exciting to me to finally make the connection. Looking forward to your series. Thank You.
Can you give us a tour of your garden and give us tips on how you maintain it. I’ve been trying to start a garden for months, but I don’t know where to start. All the plants I have are sitting in pots in my front porch and it’s becoming clustered. I’ve been looking up greenhouses, but they’re very expensive and most are too big for my small backyard. Also, where did you find the turmeric and ginger root seeds.
You have beautiful clear nails.
Yes sis! I LOVE THIS AND YOUR CONTENT! Educate me on these nails. Women empowerment!!! Love this channel.
Came here after your suggestion on Lady Ann Sis
Welcome 🤗
Do u take money order for your products ,bc my mom does like putting her card to different online shopping
Natural nails and healthy natural hair looks rich🌸
Agreed there is nothing like your natural green beauty
Wow thank you for this information 🙏
You ARE Black Girl Magic. 💚💫
Looking forward to this series.... thank you
I’m super excited for this
I’m here for this. My nails grow but break and develop hang nails. So frustrating
You have beautiful nails. I dont know if my nails would ever look like yours, even if I cared for them like you do...
Thank you. You never know, until you try 💚
I don't like the feel of nail polish on my finger nails and i have only had it on a couple of times. The problem i have is eczema on my hands.Sometimes my hands and nails get so rough to an extent that i can't do my hair especially during and after flareups.I am constantly filing and smoothing my hands. At times nothing can keep them moisturized and supple.Could you do a video about eczema and some of its remedies?thanks
The only real remedy I know of for eczema is through diet. I would do a juice fast for 3 weeks of so and completely change my diet after. No processed foods, no sugar, very minimal oil and more fruits, vegetables and grains. That should be enough to CURE eczema.
@@GreenBeauty oh wow! I eat all of that..i got eczema during my first pregnancy and that time i added 50lbs of weight🙊..oh my! I am still working on my weight at the moment but i will look into changing my diet after i stop breastfeeding my second child although i have been incorporating more fruits and grains lately..thank you so much for responding..
It’s funny that you post this video, because I spent three weeks growing my nails nice and long and strong, and one of them finally broke. I tried to repair it, but it was ultimate fail. I will try again, thanks for all the tips!
Her voice is so soothing. I would listen to her read the phone book. Aaaaaahhh...
My nails look pretty healthy, I just have a habit of cutting them off with my other nails when I noticed them getting longer.
They seem to grow when I actively leave them alone😭
I'm in surgical tech school, so I can't grow my nails out at the moment, pooey!
Wow. Allied Health.
I was considering this career path. Is the program difficult?
@@tanya4534 So far it's kind of difficult, but it also seems very rewarding! I'd give it a shot!
The GOAT ! Morning sis! 💅🏾🥂🥰
Yay!! Perfect timing!! Just gave myself a mani and pedi yesterday & decided from here on out I’m going to give more TLC to both my hands & feet. Looking forward to the series ❤️
I wish we could be friends! I’m so happy to see this video because I’ve been feeling like I need to get my nails done. I’ve been wanting to experiment with henna on my nails. I think I’m going to continue trying that
Hmmm. Henna sounds interesting.
@@geerowr.6666 I saw this video and I’m trying to find out if I can use vegan hair dye to make it red because I don’t like black
ua-cam.com/video/ZzbP6CEkVj0/v-deo.html
@@caramelcocoa234 Tried to ad a link
UA-cam won't let me. Black henna has chemicals in it. Henna is naturally red when w liquid added. Check out the warnings.
I use henna on my nails; I started this past summer. I like the results. I apply the henna at night, take off the following morning. The recipe is slightly different from hair, just 1 tablespoon henna, warm water, few drops of lemon juice, 3 or 4 drops of tea tree or lavender essential oil.
@@geerowr.6666 oh yes I know. I meant the red henna but just to get a more opaque red. The girl in the video used regular black hair dye. That’s why I was thinking of vegan red hair dye lol
Your nails are gorgeous! 😍
My nails have been growing long and strong since I started using terra beauty growth polish, along with their base and nail polish. It's vegan and natural (as much as polish can be). I also take vitamin and collagen gummies
Also I take care of it by occasionally cutting thinly or filing the corners in a cofin shape. The corners are where it breaks first.
Ok...after watching a few of your videos ma'am you have me hooked. THANKS for the info. You're Beautiful & Brilliant ❤️ SUBSCRIBED
Love it! Here for this!!!!
AAAS ALWAYS! Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️
I've been neglecting my bails lately and noticed they have been so dry. This was a good reminder to condition them like I had been
Great video! Looking forward to the next one 😃!
I need this because as a Healthcare worker....my nails break like it's in a bad relationship.
It's always wet (which makes my nails weak) its so annoying and makes my nails look ugly. 🙄
Hello, where are you guys from? I'm from Ireland. It is 2 pm, 16th of October 2021. :)
Hello 👋 Oct 16th 9:00 a.m. USA state of Kentucky
Hi 👋 I am from Mississippi living in Charleston SC for over 10 years now!! It is 10.51 am
In this has nothing to do with nails but I need your help. What products did you use to help your hair? Because my air is heat damaged. I have been natural all my life. I straighten it once and now it has been 3 years and it still heat damaged in some places.
I used to not wear nail polish and have the longest, strongest nails ever. Now i wear gel because they kept breaking when i started bottling, packing and shipping my products.
So intriguing! Connection between hair and nails.
I dont paint them much either and also don't want them too long since they just get in my way tbh. I really only pay attention to them if they start looking brittle. Makes me think I need to improve my diet etc.
I find it interesting that ppl want long nails. I always wondered y
Cant wait for next video
Informative as usual
Hi Green Beauty
When will the REAL Protein Treatment be available in 8oz on your website?
Gorgeous nails ❣️ I admire the shape too, but I prefer to be more rounded than sharp because I know my nail will snag 😩
I really do want to stop wearing acrylic. I have a really healthy diet but my natural nails will still break because I’m very active and gym equipment breaks them constantly
I’m also very active with gym equipment and calisthenics. As your natural nails grow out, you naturally adjust to them without even knowing. I wear my nails very long and I’ve never had an issue at the gym.
@@GreenBeauty That's awesome! That gives me hope!
It takes about 3 months for my nails to get to my desired length, my hair is another story lol.
I will be following this series closely. Thank you.
I need this....im ok with the hair thing...but I need nail care regimen I'm addicted to press on 💅 nails...🥺
Love your videos. It’s easy to see that you practice what you preach, so to speak. Your hair is lovely and healthy looking and your nails show no visible signs of vitamin deficiency. Keep up the good work and thank you for your video content.
Great
What about halal/kosher nail polish?
I believe it still has chemicals you don’t want in your body
My natural nails break so easily I use dip powder to make them thicker. I wish I could leave them with just a natural nail polish top coat and they still flourish 😢
I love women with short nails without nail polish
Hi there,
Awesome video BTW. I have been watching for videos for years and they have been special to me!
Can you please do a get to know me video? We would really like to know your story, what got you into green beauty, answering questions etc.
p.s. your child is beautiful.
Can't wait for the next video!
SO EXCITEDDD
I was intrigued by the topic but I can’t give up 💅🏾. No artificial nails but I love color too much 😍 and my natural nails are long.
Hi hi!! New subbie here!!🥰 thanks for the great information!! I do wear polish but I do wonder why my nails break soo fast!
... Thanks for sharing🌼
Hi i love your video's they are very informative. I like to keep my nails short for me they grow quickly . Do like some polish some time when going to event. Your video is by far the most educational I seen. Keep spreading the Knowledge Sister.
I don’t polish my nails that much, if I do it’s ‘clear’ color. The biggest problem with my nails is that they grow to a certain length then break off, chip/peel. My right thumbnail starts to break at the nail bed regardless of the length and another nail starts to curl in on itself after a certain length of time. Plus all my nails have vertical ridges. Hopefully you can talk about these issues and how to overcome them.
Side note, do you have a video for flaky skin. After my first pregnancy my scalp just decided to go left. Nothing seems to moisture it😢
I have long natural nails like the other women in my family. I have noticed they stay strong when I keep my cuticles moisturized after washing my hands.
Taking care of my nails and cuticles is very important to me. I have always done my own manicures and my nails are very healthy because of it. Seeing those examples of bitten nails and chewed up red cuticles made me gasp! 😧🥴🤢 I hate seeing nubs like that. Please take care of your hands folks.
wow , my nails neverrrrrrrrr get that long without a product on top .. they break before they can even get past my meat good
